   I’m in my 50’s and have used various recipe apps in the past, but even when they make a shopping list I’d have to look at various stores for deals or availability. The recipe part of this app and shopping list it generates is great. I can also quickly see electronic coupons and foods that get me more credits when I generate a shopping list. On top of that the health part of the app incentivizes good eating and exercise, and gives food discounts for a lifestyle I already try to live. For instance, I usually walk daily, but now I always walk daily. (The app is synched with my watch so walking daily gets me more discounts. I get that I should be incentivized to walk every day to be healthier, but realistically my cheapness turns out to be a better motivator than living longer.) Additionally, after checking prices for my meds at different pharmacies, I found Albertsons had the cheapest prices for my blood pressure meds, so I was already using their pharmacy. Now I get food discounts for what I was already doing. I use this app daily and my grocery budget has gone down and I’m healthier. My only criticism is I wish it could be a little simpler to use, but the app offers a lot of choices so it’s going to be more complicated than a basic app offering one or two things. Great app I highly recommend. It incentivizes you to be healthier, and if you already are it gives you food discounts for that lifestyle.

   Free items have been reduced or not at all. I enjoyed trying different products and would often start to buy them after the free trial. Most of the time the free items are always gone such as the wipes. Also, many times the sale items are sold out. The avocados are always over ripe. It’s very annoying to lose points after you have saved them. It’s like punishing you for being a small family or for trying to save points/ you’ve already earned/ for better items or gas savings. Long lines are very annoying. The signs in products on sale are misleading because the details are written so small like a limit or the FREE when using points. Often items are not marked at all with a large sign especially in the area across the aisle from the cheese. The reduced items are located in the produce dept in front of the back room door which is dangerous and annoying for the staff coming in and out. I do like the wide aisles, the clean store and helpful associates. Usually the carts are replaced often. The deli, meat dept and bakery are always super clean and organized. Quick service too. I also like how many of the sale items are displayed at the end of the aisles or over by the self checkout. I also like it when half price or damaged items are placed in carts that are easy to get to by the cheese area. I like the Senior Day but it is annoying to have to remind the checker that you qualify. They should just ask before starting or add it to the screen where you put your phone no. If help continues to be a problem adding another set of self checkouts might be useful or having the quick checkout line open most of the time or having the lottery/refund lady take customers that have 5 items or less. The floral area is amazing.

3. 5/5Simplifies my life and saves me money!

   Just buy Fresh Pass to simplify your grocery shopping! I paid for Fresh Pass for two years, and but got a deal on another delivery service so I decided to switch. This new service offered so many store options but instead of making ordering easy, I was overwhelmed with too many choices and would waste a lot of time looking at multiple stores selling similar items. I would end up looking for hours and not purchase anything so no food or meals and hours lost! I realized the Albertsons app was much more efficient for me and how my brain works! I am limited to what they have and this makes my shopping and meal planning so much easier. With the Albertsons app, I don’t get bogged down with indecision. I also find lots of discounts I normally would forget to use in the actual store. So I subscribed again after two months without it and now I don’t have to overthink my grocery shopping! My life is easier and I save time and money! That’s the whole point of all these shopping apps in the first place right!?

4. 1/5Over charges your bank account consistently

   Just so everyone knows. The Albertsons app, if you use the pick up function of the app, it will charge you for the entire grocery order every time there is a substitution. For instance, last Tuesday I ordered groceries thinking I was saving money. Well, I had four substitutions. Where the app said the store had the item, ended up not having the item and the shopper had to ask me what I wanted to substitute the item with. Every time this happens the app, it charges a charge to your bank account for the entire order that sits in pending status for at least a week. So, by the end of my Albertsons experience, I had four pending charges of almost $200- almost $800 sat pending in my bank account. It is now Saturday and all of those pending charges are still sitting in my account that is now overdrawn. I didn’t realize my $200 grocery trip was going to cost me $800 for however long Albertsons and the bank decide to hold my money just for using the app. This is incredibly inconvenient as that has now ended up overdrawing my account with other bills being pulled from my account. This is the second time this has happened. Two of two times I used the pick up function on the app. I absolutely will not use this service again based on the multiple charges Albertsons gives you for reasons out of my control. Poor customer service.

5. 2/5Could be Better

   The APP takes far too much time to refresh pages, and images use far too much data to load. Why so much data? It’s not a jewelry store where high resolution images are necessary. Also, there needs to be a way to SAVE THE SHOPPING CART for “online orders”. I have to constantly empty the entire cart if I just need to pickup a smaller order mid-month, before I order the bigger one. This is incredibly stupid. There needs to be a way to save cart, or add TWO carts. You added two carts for a while but deleted it. That is incredibly inconvenient, and impractical for FRESHPASS users. At the very LEAST, these features need to be available for freshpass users. You’re losing business by forcing customers to empty their entire cart. It also wastes customers TIME, having to screenshot each item that was in our cart that wasn’t on a list we created, then, having to add them all back again. Adding items to a list is not practical when there is a 200 limit. ERROR MESSAGE always appears when trying to add the items to a list. Pickup cart and delivery cart need to be separate. Nobody should have to dump their entire pickup cart just to get a delivery order that is stupid. Also important pop up messages about time sensitive deals disappear and NEVER reappear. This makes me want to shop else where.
