   App doesn’t handle train delays or departure delays well. First it doesn’t update the time change in real-time. E.g. at Paris Est the train said 1 hour delay 35 minutes before the train was originally scheduled to leave. DB Navigator didn’t update until it was after the scheduled departure time. Then it had maintained the wrong arrival time. Then it offers no options or alternative trains to take since it would be late for the connection in Stuttgart. Further you still cannot change trains or reserve your seat on another train (because your train is late in arriving) and it still cannot provide any information on open seats on your next train. This app is only good for storing your e-ticket and maybe for searching train schedules. It is useless for anything else. Any other travel company app (e.g. airline) especially US airlines are so much better at helping you with your trip. And from reading other comments, many of these concerns were made 3-5 years ago and the app has not been updated with any of these suggestions. It appears DB software engineers really don’t care about their customer’s experience. “Just pay us lots of money and you get whatever you get” is how the seem to be. And with no alternatives it will probably never change.

2. 1/51 step forward, 2 steps back

   Official apps should really be the best ones. Unfortunately I find myself relying on Bahnfinder more often. Reasons for 1 star (WARNING: long review) 1 - random bugs and crashes 2 - widgets disappeared, active ones turned plain white 3 - no more maps, which were vital for finding connections, especially bus stops 4 - missing journey starting location in the search results - there’s more than 1 way of getting somewhere, I’d like to be able to see the starting points (street name) LIKE YOU USED TO SHOW BEFORE 5 - keeps asking me about my payment method, even when I already set a default 6 - unable to download DeutschlandTicket receipts on mobile - web viewer Rechnungen page gives a loading indicator in the UI, then nothing happens 7 - DOES NOT MENTION PARTIAL FARES - this used to be shown in the search results, but the current version uses different words further in the booking process, which is confusing and mostly unnoticeable, almost as if they want you to pay more without realising it. I fell for it, and felt cheated, and had to stay a night in a friend’s hotel room before going home due to not having the full journey truly booked (because of this change). My device: iPhone 13 Pro on iOS 17.1.2 If you want a better review, make your app better, and stop removing useful features. Thank you.

3. 1/5How is this company still in buisness?

   I have had a monthly subscription for a little over a year now and from the start of this month, the app has decided to completely malfunction. It’s really disappointing as I have to use DB to travel to a town an hour away for school where I am learning German. It makes me extremely nervous to travel on the train when my app is not functioning despite having a valid ticket THAT I PAID FOR. It’s pretty awful for me to have to explain in my broken German that no, I’m not hitching a free ride but the ticket just doesn’t work at all. I have tried everything that the website suggested and I have done the obvious, deleting and reinstalling the app and logging in and out of my account. The service just doesn’t work at all but it works fine for them to take the money out of my account still.

4. 1/5Worst app and train company I’ve ever used

   If I Could give less than one star I would, First off I couldn’t even purchase the Deutschland travel ticket through DB because they didn’t have an country option for the U.S, so i had to go through a third party, just to buy the ticket, and then I couldn’t even register it in my own name because i wasn’t 18 at the time so My parents bought it for me, and an employee at The DB information desk today me it was okay to have my parents info on the ticket i purchased it through the third party, and I thought everything was fine till a DB train employee told me the ticket wasn’t valid because it wasn’t in my name and almost fined me 60 euros, even after I told her that an employee of DB train told me it was okay to have my parents name on the ticket, so instead she had me purchase a 30 euro one time ticket. easily the worst experience i’ve had not just any train company, but just any company in general.

5. 3/5Please hire competent people to do this important work

   Booking for now Option disappeared. No maps. No wallet support despite the statement on the app, lies. Bring back time adjustment between the connections within a single itinerary, why did you get rid of it? Lazy programming: it used to be possible to change the language within the app regardless of the system language. Now you need to add a language to your system first. Why did you get rid of this useful feature. And in general you seems to be fixing things that ain’t broken and breaking breaking the ones that were working before. A useful feature would be to allow booking of a seat for part of the trip. Right now partial itinerary payment is possible but partial itinerary. Seat reservation is not. Not all itineraries are shown, first class options are not shown when second-class is selected. It used to be possible before. And why the pickle do you need to know my exact exact age when I’m traveling, while age bracket should be just fine? I could go on, because every time I make a new booking, after 30 years using German railways and the app, you guys come up with something totally ridiculous. So I’ll be back with more reviews. You should add negative stars to the review options of this app. Removing useful features and adding bad ones. Total trash. Also passive aggressive victim-blaming responses to user reviews, and selective ones at that. Oh, sorry, I know, you are still at the start of your journey of making this app “even better”. My God, it is scary to imagine what that could be. You are at the start of the bloody journey. It has been merely about 30 years in this business. 🤢 seems that you are cutting corners by hiring incompetent people, to do this as their first project? All that on top of constant train delays and cancellations. This is completely irresponsible, and is affecting a lot of lives all over Germany. DB, you have no trust from your customers anymore. It is not a serious company.
