   In bars they put the best stuff on the top shelf. This is that kind of app. It stores some of the information on your phone, which I LOVE because I don’t max out my storage on my phone all the time and if I’m on vacation in Europe then I know I need space for photos I’m going to take. The fact it puts information on your phone is great because you KNOW that if you’re on a train or in a subway, etc, you’re going to lose connectivity. This app is prepared for that. This app is “solidly built.” It doesn’t fail and suddenly lose track of where you are when you’re in the middle of a complex series of connections from the airport to the bus or the taxi, to the subway, to the hotel or hostel, or wherever you stay!! This is the kind of app you can trust. One thing to know (which isn’t really a negative), is that this can be an energy intensive app for your phone to run, so don’t navigate away from the app when it’s opened…especially with an older phone. It can crash if you have too much else opened, but that’s only because it’s got so much information!! This is the kind of top shelf app that really does something we didn’t have in the pre-internet era. This would have been a pile of paperwork back then…Bus schedules and train schedules and figuring out what platform to be on…THIS DOES IT ALL!!!

2. 5/5Fantastic App!

   I’ve used this app all across Italy in various cities. It’s excellent because it not only gives walking directions but it also gives options of public transit (and tells you which lines of buses, trams, or trains to take), or taxis or uber (and tells you about how much it will cost) and it also tells you the total time each option will take accessing the public transit timetables to factor in when the next bus/tram/train will arrive! You can also input all the places you want to go in a city beforehand and label them as you choose so when you want directions on the spot you can choose to get directions from “The hotel” to “The basilica” or “The concert” or wherever else you want to go. Really makes things easy. Then when you are on the public transit, it buzzes your phone to remind you to get off at the next stop! It’s really user friendly and really useful. I highly recommend it!

   This app is handy if you’re somewhere that exclusively uses buses. Even then, the times are only sometimes accurate. If you use trains, this is not the app for you. Any time I use this app, I have a myriad of issues. The app says location accuracy in trains is hard, but I will often have full bars and be connected to wifi yet my location never updates. It will then push back my arrival time so I have no idea how long my commute is expected to take, considering I never move from the last point of connectivity. I first assumed this was a problem with my connection but other apps work perfectly fine and Apple Maps has no problem updating my location. I have to fight this app every time I use it. The most attractive feature for me was the arrival time feature, but even that tends to be more inaccurate than accurate. Also, even when it is *close* to being accurate, it’s still off. Locations are inaccurate too, the directions the app provides are usually incorrect when walking to a specific address. Not to mention, inputting specific addresses will have you struggling to find the place because the app will give you suggestions for everywhere but the place you want to go. Or the names are plain inaccurate. For example, I was wanting to go to a film museum in Berlin (which is in a fairly prominent location), yet the app suggested the place under a confusing name and the address listed was incorrect. Just overall, this app is an extremely frustrating inconvenience when you try to use it.

4. 2/5Update: rarely live bus arrivals

   Got this to navigate MTA, and found that it switches to London mode seamlessly and it totally wipes the floor with the alternatives. It's not possible to personalise traffic selections (say, "avoid tube," "luggage friendly" (though "wheel chair friendly" is often a good alternative) or "cut out a tube-trip that barely saves any time, but adds to the price + likelihood of delays during rush hours"). Sadly "rain safe" seems to be gone as well. They don't admit to just forwarding TfL data, so I guess blaming them for attrocious bus predictions is in order. I've seen the three first buses arrive in 4min, 4min, 5min for ca 20mins sustained, after which only one arrived. Oddly, but this may be due to iOS's memory management, in the morning when I open it for the first time in 12+ hours, it is still set for my last destination (home), but if I set my destination (work), lock the phone and unlock it, it's back to the opening page, no destination set. Odd, nit a problem. A lot of screen real-estate on a bottom pane is "wasted" (from a users perspective) on flogging their commercial services, which is probably not too surprising for a free/low priced (?) app. Update: it seems to have (almost) lost the ability to pull live arrivals, opting instead for just showing "every x minutes" which is even less useful than the official schedule (which rarely changes and could be cached by them if TfL is the problem here). This unfortunately reduces the value of the app (in London) to near-nil.

5. 1/5Gets bus routes WRONG!

   I live in Brooklyn off the B 8 bus route. I am constantly late for work as of late because of this app declining in quality. I missed my bus today because it completely missed entire busses along my route. They said the next bus for me was 5 mins away then 30 seconds later changed that to 11 mins which would make me late. To my surprise I turn the corner and see a bus abut to pull away. I got to the stop exactly 6 mins which before the 11 minute bus was supposed to be there. Despite running for the bus the driver just pulled off only to stop at a red light just 20 yards away. The lack of care and service is astounding and consumers are expected to rely on companies that start off with a bang only to turn around and drastically fall off in quality. It is also a very pick and choose type of situation where the poorer areas receive the worst of it because somehow when it comes to manhattan and the richer areas of Brooklyn these technical difficulties do not happen near as much. Either commit to what your app says it provides all across the board or just shut down and do something else better suited because I’m sick of spending my hard earned money and time on garbage wrapped with a silk bow.

   timing is not match with this app you need to go before five minutes means only you can get bus otherwise you cant catch bus
