1. 5/5Very long wait time good food

   Every time I purchase from this Captain D’s in particular the wait time is ridiculously long, but the food is really good and the service is good. Another thing I really hate about it is the air-conditioning unit in the restaurant is usually broken down and customers we do not appreciate having to sweat while waiting for your food. Also, I feel bad that the employees are sweating like crazy to where they look like they are going to pass out. Also, they are sweating like crazy and wiping their forehead and then touching your bags of food and all the other items I think that’s really gross. You need to keep a fixed air conditioner there for employees and customers thank you.

2. 3/5Add more locations and improve the user experience

   Super happy I can get Lobster rolls anytime I want and not rely on a specific food truck that comes around every couple of months. I have come across a couple of downsides though. 1) Y’all truly need to roll out more locations, specifically Fort Worth area for different methods of curbside, pickup, delivery. 2) Forcing users to choose a location first before being able to view the menu is not a good user experience nor a good use of accessibility and usability. 3) Your actual website does not show more than one location when choosing: pickup, curbside or delivery , like it shows on your app. 4) Speaking of app, those on the go using the app, need and must have a seamless streamlined experience to view the menu regardless of location, decide if they want to order and then let them see if there is a location near them. 5) Your responsive design for Tablet devices on the app, is not designed for tablet design. I see it as Mobile first responsive design. Your web developer should really fix these and test. I know this from experience as a Web Developer and now UX Designer. Trust me, you take these recommendations seriously, you will draw in more traffic.

3. 3/5Food is great, but app stinks!

   My whole family loves the food at Captain D’s, but the app is in serious need of an update/overhaul. It is easy enough to navigate, but it will not allow you to use your rewards. It shows a list of rewards items that you’ve accumulated, but it will not even allow you to complete your order (checkout). Only once you remove that one free item, there are no issues whatsoever with completing the order. We’ve tried going on to the website and it works fine there - you are able to claim rewards - but it’s not always convenient… and it kinda defeats the purpose of even having the app. Yet, of course, going online, they always have that place trying to promote getting the app. Why promote it if they make zero improvements on its upkeep?

4. 1/5Hire a better app designer

   Just downloaded the app and wow. What year is this? You can’t simply delete an item from the cart? Or at the very least change the quantity to zero to remove it? Come on. It’s not hard. You already took the coupons away. Then the $5.99 fish meal is no longer available. Also seems like chicken is being pushed more than fish. We have more than enough chicken places around, and this would not be my choice for chicken. To add insult to injury, your app is trash. The least you could do is hire someone who makes you want to use the app instead of getting frustrated and not even wanting to eat here now. Make a better app. Bring back coupons. Push fish over chicken. Wouldn’t hurt to have larger pieces of fish. I know they used to be bigger than jumbo fish sticks. I have photos from a much better time for captain ds. Wonder how much longer they will even be around.

5. 1/5Great Food, rotten app

   Captain D’s has some good tasting food but the absolute worst app ever. The app rewards rarely get applied to the account after purchase, and the points you may actually get magically don’t get applied when you try to use them (then they expire). The restaurant staff has no way of honoring any app rewards or promos at the counter, so that is a bust. No person or even auto reply ever responds to customer service inquiries, just a sent page and a thank you we’ll be in touch page when sent. Sadly there is no phone number that can get you any response to app issues or help you apply missing rewards. Do go in and enjoy a good meal, but for pity sake don’t spoil your appetite by trying to reap any app rewards. Congrats CaptainD’s developers, you officially have the worst app and customer support awards for 3 years running!!
