   •It doesn’t let you remove items from your cart once they are in there without completely closing out of the app and starting over from scratch. •Payment frequently fails to go through with Apple Pay. •You can choose up to 3 sauces for a single entree order, the limit remains the same even if you increase the quantity of that entree to 2 or more. This means that if you order multiple servings of the same entree, you're still restricted to a maximum of 3 sauces in total. To work around this limitation, customers are forced to input each additional serving of the same entree as a separate order, even if the sides and customizations are identical. •It seems to automatically select a rigid pickup time based on the time you start putting together your order, rather than adjusting it on the fly based on when you start the checkout process. You can adjust the time later manually, but it should be a mostly automated process based on when you choose to checkout.

2. 1/5Hire a better app designer

   Just downloaded the app and wow. What year is this? You can’t simply delete an item from the cart? Or at the very least change the quantity to zero to remove it? Come on. It’s not hard. You already took the coupons away. Then the $5.99 fish meal is no longer available. Also seems like chicken is being pushed more than fish. We have more than enough chicken places around, and this would not be my choice for chicken. To add insult to injury, your app is trash. The least you could do is hire someone who makes you want to use the app instead of getting frustrated and not even wanting to eat here now. Make a better app. Bring back coupons. Push fish over chicken. Wouldn’t hurt to have larger pieces of fish. I know they used to be bigger than jumbo fish sticks. I have photos from a much better time for captain ds. Wonder how much longer they will even be around.

3. 1/5The worst I have ever been treated as a customer

   I placed an order on the app and went through the drive-thru to pick it up, and upon arrival I was told I needed to go inside to pick up the order. I've been painting all day and am not presentable. The lady asked me why I was not able to go inside, and I explained, and she said they don't allow orders placed in advance to be picked up at the drive-thru. I told her I wasn't aware of that, and I apologized profusely, and she rudely told me to drive around. She was obviously perturbed, and I have no idea why. When I drove around, she was standing there in the window with her hands on her hips looking at me in disgust and asked if I was the lady with the online order. When I told her yes, I added that I had done this before (placing the order on the app and picking it up at the drive-thru), and she told me in a nasty and degrading tone, "Not at this restaurant! My boss don't play that!" She then told her subordinates that she wasn't gonna deal with me and that they could handle me, as if I was being a belligerent person, which I was not! She was the only belligerent person in the situation. I had been nothing but nice and apologetic and couldn't believe how rude she was being to me over this. She stomped off, and a young man bagged my order and as he was handing it to me, I asked him what the problem was with me picking up an app order at the drive-thru, and he told me they just don't like DoorDash or Uber Eats or anyone who places an order picking it up at the drive-thru and that they require the orders to be picked up inside. I explained that I'm just a customer with the Captain Ds app and had placed the order for myself. I told him I would delete the app, and I thanked him for his kindness. There were so many options that lady had when speaking to me, and she chose THAT demeanor. I realize it speaks volumes about the type of person she is and is not indicative of the type of person I am, but it certainly doesn't bode well for Captain D's, and it certainly left a bad taste in my mouth, and it certainly took a little wind out of my sails unnecessarily. In the end, it's her problem, but I'm sharing this with the hope that she will see it and realize how she treats people is a choice.

4. 1/5Great Food, rotten app

   Captain D’s has some good tasting food but the absolute worst app ever. The app rewards rarely get applied to the account after purchase, and the points you may actually get magically don’t get applied when you try to use them (then they expire). The restaurant staff has no way of honoring any app rewards or promos at the counter, so that is a bust. No person or even auto reply ever responds to customer service inquiries, just a sent page and a thank you we’ll be in touch page when sent. Sadly there is no phone number that can get you any response to app issues or help you apply missing rewards. Do go in and enjoy a good meal, but for pity sake don’t spoil your appetite by trying to reap any app rewards. Congrats CaptainD’s developers, you officially have the worst app and customer support awards for 3 years running!!

   Rewards are junk, you cannot add what they say that your reward is. They will email you a notification that you can receive a free 2 piece hand breaded chicken, however the app has no such thing the smallest portion they have is either a child size with sides, or a four piece. They offered to give you a free hush puppy, but it will not allow you to add it to a purchase so it is a waste, and the store will not acknowledge it. The Farmington Missouri location says that they are an independent store and do not accept coupons, the Festus, Mo. location said they cannot accept any coupon on the app. Don’t even bother downloading the app, because it seems it is used for only data collection.
