1. 1/5Takes 4 months to redeem anything.

   This app is so inconvenient and slow and has been designed to be that way. It takes three months for the reward to even register on your account. Then you have to jump through all kinds of hoops and give them access to your credit card or bank account for them to review your transactions and “ confirm your identity” and that takes another week of waiting. I have been on apps that are slightly inconvenient in some ways but this app has taken it to such an extreme level. Their angle is for you to wait so long for the reward to populate that you forget it’s even there. Waiting three months for a reward to populate is absolutely absurd, and we know by using other apps that there is no reason that it would take this long other than them intentionally doing that. If I could give the zero stars I would. This is the most inconvenient time-consuming app I’ve ever used in my entire life. I have never waited months to potential receive something and then wait another month to maybe find out if I can receive the reward after waiting for five months. It’s absolutely crazy. And after you use a reward, even if you call them, they can’t give you an answer or tell you if it was even accepted because “ it takes 90 days to populate”. Do yourself a favor and don’t use this app.

   UPDATE: After my review, miraculously the $10 from my SHEIN purchase showed up. I still haven’t received the AARP reward. Now let’s see if my $30 from 1-800-Flowers shows up. They still have different offers from the same merchant. As you are scrolling through the deals, the same deals are listed over and over. Come on guys, why are you wasting my time. Show one deal per merchant, THE BEST DEAL, and let’s move on. I don’t have time to scroll through all your BS. Additionally, after using a deal and making a purchase — the next time you open the app, a better deal is available. BAIT AND SWITCH! ORIGINAL: What a rip-off! You have to waste time looking for the best deal. Multiple different deals for the same store on the home page and emails. Then, after finding the best deal for the store you’re shopping, you may or may not get that deal. I activated a get $10 back on $20+ purchase at SHEIN. I purchased $20+ and Capital One Shopping rewarded me with 3¢. I activated a reward from AARP and never received it. Then, good luck contacting customer support to resolve any discrepancies. The only saving grace for this app is that it cost nothing. Come on guys — ONE deal for each store : the BEST deal! You also need to make it easier to dispute incorrect/missing rewards.

3. 5/5Truly pays to have this

   When I originally joined for the $20 promo for getting the app and desktop browser extension, I was excited to see that not only did it work but when I chose what gift card I wanted if was ready right away (which worked when I used it in person). I just redeemed another giftcard months later- the reason it is months later is once you complete a purchase through one of the offers, the reward is available once the last date for store returns would be to ensure people don’t make purchases to get rewards and then cancel/ return. Also, be sure to check the offers in your email which are often way bigger than the ones you see in the app because it personalizes it to places you have browsed recently. For example, I once had an offer that was over 30% cash back but I had to click on the link through my email because if I went to that same store on the app, the offer would barely be anything. I saw some people mention it works better on desktop but for me, mobile has worked very well! I often fill my cart on the actual store I am shopping at’s app or website where I am logged in and then go to this app (or the email offer that brings you to the app) and once on the store’s page within this app, you can checkout (if you have a store account make sure to log in as you normally would on a regular browser).

4. 5/5Love capital one shopping but…

   As a previous review said it’s not great when shopping on your phone as many of us do. I am still able to shop in my apps to receive my rewards/points etc. I just make sure I am logged in and then I log into the accounts I am shopping in through capital one shopping. It’s an extra step that takes seconds so it doesn’t bother me. Your points etc will still be there. I find it is better to use the capital one shopping app while shopping on your iPhone. I installed the browser on my phone but it doesn’t seem to work most of the time even when I open it directly from the search bar. I have missed out on hundreds of dollars in rewards because of this. I try to remember to open the COS app now when I shop. I also find the rewards tend to be higher for some reason directly through the app than on the iPhone browser extension. I have done well with rewards and discounts. It would be nice if they could fix this issue but I still absolutely believe it is worth it. I have no issue with the browser extension on my computer. I have saved a couple thousand dollars since I began using COS even with the ones that didn’t go through. I also feel very safe using it. I am an extra cautious person so it took months of reading about it before I gave it a try. I’m so glad I did. Do yourself a favor and download this app. You will be too.

5. 5/5No where to report bugs

   I often (on regular lately) use the app. It’s fun. But it becomes an issue when there is a programming error and you can’t check out through the app because how it was coded. Or now for example the offer for Wallgreens takes you to first download the Walgreens app and then to Apple (different merchant altogether). Before this was and still is an error in container store (all options to sing into your account no matter which trick you can think of has been eliminated if you check out through the app. It’s coded somehow like this) so it’s a big issue and just with stores that I use on the regular. Again if there was a place to at least notify the people coding the app, it would probably be fixed but there are no options like this. I even dug through the regular website and there’s nothing.
