   When I originally joined for the $20 promo for getting the app and desktop browser extension, I was excited to see that not only did it work but when I chose what gift card I wanted if was ready right away (which worked when I used it in person). I just redeemed another giftcard months later- the reason it is months later is once you complete a purchase through one of the offers, the reward is available once the last date for store returns would be to ensure people don’t make purchases to get rewards and then cancel/ return. Also, be sure to check the offers in your email which are often way bigger than the ones you see in the app because it personalizes it to places you have browsed recently. For example, I once had an offer that was over 30% cash back but I had to click on the link through my email because if I went to that same store on the app, the offer would barely be anything. I saw some people mention it works better on desktop but for me, mobile has worked very well! I often fill my cart on the actual store I am shopping at’s app or website where I am logged in and then go to this app (or the email offer that brings you to the app) and once on the store’s page within this app, you can checkout (if you have a store account make sure to log in as you normally would on a regular browser).

2. 5/5Love capital one shopping but…

   As a previous review said it’s not great when shopping on your phone as many of us do. I am still able to shop in my apps to receive my rewards/points etc. I just make sure I am logged in and then I log into the accounts I am shopping in through capital one shopping. It’s an extra step that takes seconds so it doesn’t bother me. Your points etc will still be there. I find it is better to use the capital one shopping app while shopping on your iPhone. I installed the browser on my phone but it doesn’t seem to work most of the time even when I open it directly from the search bar. I have missed out on hundreds of dollars in rewards because of this. I try to remember to open the COS app now when I shop. I also find the rewards tend to be higher for some reason directly through the app than on the iPhone browser extension. I have done well with rewards and discounts. It would be nice if they could fix this issue but I still absolutely believe it is worth it. I have no issue with the browser extension on my computer. I have saved a couple thousand dollars since I began using COS even with the ones that didn’t go through. I also feel very safe using it. I am an extra cautious person so it took months of reading about it before I gave it a try. I’m so glad I did. Do yourself a favor and download this app. You will be too.

3. 5/5No where to report bugs

   I often (on regular lately) use the app. It’s fun. But it becomes an issue when there is a programming error and you can’t check out through the app because how it was coded. Or now for example the offer for Wallgreens takes you to first download the Walgreens app and then to Apple (different merchant altogether). Before this was and still is an error in container store (all options to sing into your account no matter which trick you can think of has been eliminated if you check out through the app. It’s coded somehow like this) so it’s a big issue and just with stores that I use on the regular. Again if there was a place to at least notify the people coding the app, it would probably be fixed but there are no options like this. I even dug through the regular website and there’s nothing.

4. 1/5Large orders don’t track! Scammed out of $1,000 in rewards

   I completed a $4,000+ order during Black Friday with a 30% offer through this app. Based on my purchase total, I should have received the max amount of rewards at $1,000 that was promised. None of the items I bought were excluded in the terms and I didn’t use any other rewards program. I reached out to customer support and even sent screenshots of the purchase I made within the Capital One Shopping app. Their customer support said I didn’t earn any rewards because I used another rewards program. But I didn’t and that’s impossible to do while shopping through the Capital One Shopping app! They gave me a significantly smaller “courtesy credit” than the $1,000 that I was supposed to receive. This is a bait and switch tactic and a shady way for them to get customers to spend lots of money so they earn commission. Don’t get scammed into making a large purchase through them like I did. I was a big fan of this app and I’ve used many similar programs so I’m familiar with the mechanics of affiliate tracking. But after this experience, I’ve lost trust in this app and service and am very dissatisfied by their resolution given the fact I provided proof I didn’t violate any terms that would make my purchase ineligible. I would stay away!

5. 1/5Do NOT use this app.

   This app has been a gigantic waste of my time, and I feel like I’ve genuinely been scammed. As soon as the issue is resolved, I’m deleting this useless app. I attempted to redeem $82 for my first e-gift card. I completed the steps correctly, but when I attempted to use it, it didn’t work as the balance said $0.00. I hadn’t even gotten the chance to use it, so of course this was not correct. I reached out to eBay, all they could do was assist with filing an FTC complaint. I reached out to Capital One Shopping and was directed to Tango, since they’re responsible for something with the gift card, I guess. I asked if the $82 could just be reimbursed back to my account, but naturally received no response back within the day from Capital One Shopping. I’ve reached out to Tango, but I’m not feeling super confident that this will be resolved. So basically they’re tracking my phone for free with absolutely nothing in it for me. I was already REALLY hesitant to download it in the first place, because it felt sketchy. But I’ve been a loyal customer to Capital One for nearly 20 years, so I assumed it would be okay. I plan to close my Capital One account down next, because this has just left a horrific taste in my mouth. All I’m trying to do is buy my mom a Mother’s Day present.
