   I discovered my account had been breached through plaid and someone was able to take $100 on three different occasions for my savings regular strategically once a month on my third pay cycle as I get paid weekly and when I would transfer the largest amount into my savings so I wouldn’t notice because I use two other banks but capital one has always been my main one. I never really pay attention too much into my savings transactions. Just my checking. I discovered this at 4:55 PM called was on the phone with an agent by 4:57 PM. She was very kind and professional and honest she told me that she couldn’t promise that. It would be handled right away. They had to conduct investigation and average wait time for disputes 4-6 business days. Being that it’s Friday the end of the month I was a little bummed out. As a 30 year old male with a mortgage 2 car payments and 2 kids $500 is $500. I was bracing myself to get home and let my wife know that we don’t share finances be the more irresponsible one even though I earned a little bit more check my emails the light right before my cul-de-sac and I have one from Capital One tell me my dispute were settled and the full amount plus another hundred I didn’t know I had missing. I have never before seen a bank me with the speed on a Friday afternoon. Let me know they truly value my business. I will be closing my other two accounts and sticking to capital one from here they more than earned my business. Thank you.

   First of all I want to say that capital one was my first and is my only credit card , unfortunately I haven’t been doing so well financially and I’m even embarrassed to call but regardless of my financial hardship capital one has always had solutions they never make me feel bad for not making a payment and sometimes even waived my late fee. I used to think credit card companies were bad when trying to collect payments but capital one has been so helpful to me since day 1 , I recommend everyone, I can’t think of one time ever regretting this credit card company, the customer service people have delays been friendly to me , never rude always transfer me to the correct people and like I said if there’s a problem they have many solutions and they walk me thru and even though my account is not at its best and I’m having trouble making payments that’s not thier fault and I am trying to get everything on track. I do wish I could pay off both my accounts but they don’t accept another credit card for pay off and it’s my mom’s only way of helping me out and that would really be a burden off my back but that’s the only thing I wish could change. Thank you capital one for being understanding and helping me through the hard times I promise I’m doing my best to keep my credit cards in track but things aren’t going well I appreciate the solutions and awesome customer service.

3. 5/5Don’t believe anything their phone operators tell you

   I have had my Capitol one Platnium and Quiksilver for over 2 years now and have paid every months payment on time and for the full balance of the card, with the exception of 6 months into the pandemic things we’re getting tight and I was trying to penny pinch anywhere I could. I remembered that capital one had a payment forgiveness deferral for times of hardship. I had the money to pay it, but at same time that would create a little breathing room. I spoke with Capital one and said I only wanted to do it if it had zero impact to my credit. They assured me that it wouldn’t as there was a pandemic, so I pushed one months payment on both cards back a month. Fast forward 6 months later I had a really good year with stocks and had 30k for a vehicle. My vehicle of choice was 40k so I needed to finance 10k, I figured Capital one has loan program, I’m already with them why not just get it there. So I applied stating I had 30k. I was denied all because of one months deferred payment, denied by the same people who garentee that it has absolutely no affect on your credit . To boot now I can’t even get a credit increase on either card. They double screwed me. I was shopping for loans and was approved everywhere else I went. Other banks thought it was cray how it worked out, and didn’t understand how they could do exactly what they said they wouldn’t. Anyhow I’m talking to a lawyer now and it seems I have a case since they made a breach in contract and the ordinal agreement.

4. 5/5Excellent but not for small businesses

   I have been a Capital One member for over 20 years. Although my accounts offer decent interest rates, 2-day advanced direct deposits, and no fees and have allowed Capital One to use tens of thousands of my dollars over the years, Cap One would not allow me to open up a business checking account ONLY until they saw that I put a certain amount of money in another bank’s business checking account I opened several years later. For the first time in years, Capital One offered me an opportunity to open one! I also attempted to get a small business loan but they only consider you a small business if you are making $250,000k or $50k in gross receipts. I am a disabled, black & woman owned business and I am simply trying to make a living. Do they know that black women-owned sole proprietorships & self-employed with no employees only average $24k annually in revenue? In 2024 the black women-owned businesses only averaged between $47-$58k annually in revenue. Do they understand some businesses aren’t even achieving 50k in revenue aside from 50k in gross receipts? My last question is do they care or only interested in serving and assisting richer clients? I truly believe they are missing out on a market segment that is eager to receive access to funding and as a result, the bank will be rewarded with higher payoff percentages & lower deficit portfolios for those same customers. ~MJ Haskins, Owner, Covenant Financial LLC, Middletown, DE.

   Other than me not receiving my replacement card (getting got lost in the mail, family member throwing it away thinking it’s a credit card offer instead, etc.) everything has been good. I had an unauthorized charge and that caused me to need the replacement card, but I haven’t received it. Customer service has been great and I love the discount offers that pop up on the websites when I’m trying to purchase things versus having to look up and see if the card gives me a discount or not. So I think that’s pretty cool. And whoever reads this review if you could send me an email, text or call so that we can find a better way than sending me the card directly to my mailbox would be awesome. Because I don’t pick up the mail and my stuff doesn’t always get to me. Maybe a home delivery where the mailman makes me sign for it at the door or something, or in a more official looking envelope that won’t get mistaken for a credit card offer. But if not, I’ll still be on the lookout for the card. I have recommended the company (investing) and the credit card to members of my family and friends and I think at least one has gotten a capital one card because of it. I give you guys an A+ on everything and the only problem I have is not getting the replacement card, but that’s not your fault. And if you guys wanna raise my credit limit a few thousand I’d be cool with that too. Joking.

   I called to update my personal information and was routed to someone else and then someone else. Andrea employee number YAL570 absolutely refused to answer two simple questions that I had. The first question was what kind of paper do I have to write on to change my personal information in my account, notebook or stationary? the second, do I have to write that in pencil or is it okay to write it in pencil? she refused to answer me. poor customer service.
