1. 1/5Provider Jennifer Ramsey does not care about you.

   I signed up- had a meeting with my provider- I waited 15 minutes- then she finally joined the meeting- by this time I was aggravated that she couldn’t join at the appointment time. She made no introduction- she just said “what’s going on with you today” - I had already completed assessments and questionaires- people going through things mentally have good days and bad days- “what’s going on with you today” is a horrible question after making me wait for her to join the meeting. If I am expected to join the meeting on time- is it wrong to have the same expectation for them? Maybe my time is not as important as her time is? Maybe showing up late to an appointment is the status quo. I then had an appointment with my therapist- a few days later my provider sent a message telling me she hopes I get the help I need somewhere else. This is definitely not the type of experience I expected from a therapy providing website. The provider, Jennifer Ramsey, couldn’t be bothered to be on time, and she made me feel like she didn’t even go over the assessments I completed. I am canceling my account with Brightside immediately and will share my experience with any and everyone who wants to hear it. If you want to feel uncomfortable, unimportant and insignificant then Brightside is for you- if you actually want some mental healthcare, I’d advise anywhere else. I have definitely learned my lesson.

2. 1/5Clinician should have her license pulled.

   I did a deep search. Found her. Found her reviews on numerous platforms. So many saying she was a danger to psychiatric patients. So many fragile people looking for help that she harmed. CHECK OUTSIDE REVIEWS on the practitioner! Professionalism, communication, listening and comprehension skills, concern for you when you say your symptoms is nil. She asks for records you cannot get without her telling you how to get them to her. She is a dangerous person playing god with people’s mental health. The fact that she is working 3 platforms, 2 others besides Brightside, at the same time should say all you need to know. Seven employers in 3 years that I can find. This is criminal. Last I looked making a person stop 3 psychotropics abruptly at the same time is considered life threatening. She does not care. She wants records I cannot get without her telling me who and how they should be sent. I gave her all pharmacy records, that she asked for, within minutes after talking to her. She comes back and gaslights saying that doesn’t matter ? Get the other records. How? This has gone on over a month. The communication with others on the app is a black hole. You send their email assistance request. Crickets. Send another one? Crickets. Several hundred 1 star review here in the last couple of months RUN! Google, check LinkedIn, check educational and professional licensing, check her references. Oh, and tell her to get off of FB.

3. 5/5Feeling blessed

   My therapist Ms Katherine Brown is wonderful. I’ve been seeing her for almost 4 months and I promise I have made some great progress. She listen to me, she let me talk about whatever I want, she don’t judge or criticize. I have broken down to her I don’t even know how many times and she always has been there for me when I needed her. She never left me when I was in a bad spot. She always check on me. I went through a very bad situations this past weekend and I was down the 1st and cried so much, but she was right there for me. I would like to praise her because she helps me to understand what I’m worth and to always believe in myself. And this past weekend I did it all and got rid of someone how was using me and constantly lying to me. I’m doing good and not in a bad spot. Yes I’m hurting but it doesn’t have me down and depressed. I’m not lying in my bed in a fetal position and just crying my eyes out. Because she helped me to understand that I deserve way more than what I was getting. I can’t wait to see what the next chapter got for me. THANKS AGAIN MS KATHERINE BROWN. You don’t feel like a therapist you feel like more of a friend and I appreciate you so much. ALL THE THANKS TO YOU AND GOD

4. 4/5Therapists and psychiatrists versus billing and accounting

   I have been very impressed with the excellent level of care and treatment that I have received in this last year from the treatment staff at Brightside. The billing /accounting I unfortunately cannot say the same thing about. Everyone has been very courteous and where the problem lies I cannot say with certainty but it seems that they have major glitches in their computer set up. The most disturbing part is that they have been dealing with much the same issues for a number of years. I have been struggling this last month with an issue of being billed for sessions when I don’t have a co pay period so I should never be billed. Fortunately my debit card had been hacked or about 3 months of payment could have been withdrawn. I have solved that with opening a separate account at my local credit union with just $50 in it. I have a debit card for it and that is the credit card number that Brightside has for their files. I did this because my psychiatrist Rhonda Stewart is so excellent as is my therapist Kevin Jones. Without them I would have quit but to lose their help and support is not something I wanted. So an excellent solution I think.

5. 1/5Lack of Informed Consent

   I had my first psychiatric appointment with Brightside, and I felt that most of my symptoms expressed were not accounted for. The psychiatrist had noted that I had a BPD diagnosis, which I had informed them at the beginning of the meeting I felt was either incorrect or co-morbid. To my distress, I was additionally not informed before my appointment that clients with BPD are not accepted for Brightside. I guess it is in their policy guidelines. I’ve been in personal distress with my mental health for a while and this disappointment mattered significantly to me. An appointment that I already had to wait a couple of weeks for due to scheduling that does not conflict with my work. It was not until the last five minutes of our meeting that I was informed that I cannot be accepted as a client. After questioning why I would not have been informed this when completing my patient profile and before scheduling and having the appointment, I was told that it was because she had to do the evaluation to confirm the diagnosis before informing me that I could not be accepted as a client. I feel this was unethical in relation to professional practice. I was also left having to find an in-person psychiatrist that cannot schedule more less than two additional weeks away. This caused great personal distress, not only due to the abrupt bluntness, as it already felt like a battle doing the effort to have this appointment today.

   I saw Tameka Davis a psychiatric nurse practitioner. She arrived almost 15 minutes late and cut my session in half to get caught up of course charged for a full session. I didn't want to try the meds she offered she didn't want to discuss it and told me she won't see me because I didn't want them .I wasn't offered anyone else and now they keep trying to get me to make another appointment with her. I found a new place to get help. One that is willing to treat my problem not just deal drugs

   I showed up 10 minutes early and stayed 15 minutes into the appointment and no one showed up and I got charged for a no call no show and still have not been refunded. This place is a scam

   This application is a scam, so do not install it. My wife had to pay a $95 fee because she missed a single appointment to receive medication for her mental health. This kind of situation does not help people struggling with mental health issues, especially when financial stress is involved.They should really rethink this policy.
