5/5The Hero Gotham Needed Most
This is perfect for those desiring to make a difference whilst completely inundated with chaos offered in other areas of life. While Boycat does offer a few social mechanisms they’re so far removed that you sorta need to look for them to even know they’re there. No twitter, facebook, instagram nonsense between you and scanning the desired barcode to figure out if you’re about contribute to brands perpetuating inequity and other harms against your fellow man. Boycat does its scans quick, fast and in a hurry and even offers suggested alternatives for the few items you feel you couldn’t be without. I personally want to give a wholehearted thank you to the developers behind this amazing project. Thank you for being here when Gotham needed you most ❤︎

5/5A GenZ’s fav anti-war economic app
This is pretty much everything that I needed, but I definitely have a suggestion. You might want to add a function in the app—unless it’s already being planned—that lets us download a massive database of these barcode numbers, so you can still scan stuff even while offline. I wouldn’t trust this stuff to last forever and you never know when big Tech will try to metaphorically tribute. The rest of my life will be dedicated to boycotting companies that fund any form of G-word or war—my life has been nothing BUT, and I’m tired of it. Time to push back economically. Thanks for Boycat!

3/5great idea, but unfinished
i've had the app on my phone for about a year now, and it still has the same issue, and i don't imagine it'll be changed any time soon given how long its been. i personally downloaded it for the "Boycott Apartheid" campaign. there are 3 levels in the app that measure the severity of importance in terms of which companies need to be boycotted the most, and how connected they are to the, in this case, genoc*de in Palestine. the lowest level, the "broad connections" level number 3, still has no entries. though it does have an option to filter and select for just 3rd level companies, it instead brings up 2nd level companies instead. if this isn't a level thats ever going to get filled out, i don't know why it's still being shown at all. but i think it would still be a great addition to the app if they ever wanted to finish this section.

4/5Fantastic App
I’ve been wanting an app like this for a while. Just a few things though. When we change the level of our boycott it’s not always immediately obvious that we have to grab that little grey thing to go back and look at the updated list. Make it go away the moment we update the level or cancel. Also, when we exit Boycott Apartheid and come back it always resets back to level 2. Have it remember the last level we chose. And lastly when I start searching for companies sometimes its not obvious to get rid of the keyboard to see the new list. I’ve figured it out now but new users might have a hard time.

5/5Very needed app
I love this app. It made my life alot easier and guilt free. Its especially hard to know who to boycott since companies are buried under different names and its also equally hard to pinpoint exactly what makes them complicit to whatever horror your against. With this apl, you dont have to spend hours researching every time you need to buy something. The first thing I did after downloading it was to scan everything in my refrigerator and cabinets 😌 turned out I had two products that didnt belong in my cruelty-free household… good riddance. Thank you for developing this app!
