5/5Browser champ for all the right reasons
Right now on iOS, you can go with door #1, where the browser’s integration is all that matters, with the convenient side effect of stifling competition by forcing WebKit and disallowing extensions. Door #2 wants to gobble up all of your information and make as much money off of it as possible. Most of the rest of the doors are inconsequential, essentially offering nothing noteworthy and a bunch of ads. Oh, there’s one that values your privacy…but LOVES cryptocurrency. Enter Vivaldi. Somehow, ads are blocked and websites remain unbroken. Fantastic. They value your privacy as well. Sign me up. They offer syncing and very feature rich browsing experiences on desktop (including Linux). This browser is a fantastic choice. It can be an even better choice if you write your representatives and demand the freedom of choice that Europe now enjoys on iOS. Bottom line: this browser deserves your attention.

3/5Powerful, but very rough around the edges
I tried to get back on Vivaldi, but after doing some workflow tests for my different jobs, I decided it isn’t quite there. I can’t help but feel that using Chromium and Blink is seriously holding you back. On the other hand, most of the issues I note below are handled very well by Arc (which I reject for different reasons). Tab management is annoying. Little things like not being able to restore a saved session into the active window, or not being able to load a saved session by default at startup for a given profile; not having meaningful tab groups; splitting up the related functionality of “saved sessions”, “profiles”, and “workspaces” in sort of arbitrary ways; quite janky tab stacks that don’t really approximate tab groups in Arc or Firefox… UI animations feel rough, especially on mobile when switching between the active tab and the tab overview. Multiprofile support is good, but the way it interacts with the user’s Vivaldi account is strange. Optimization requires logging into a different Vivaldi account for each profile (??). You can use it without doing that, but it’s janky. When you make a new profile, there’s no way to have it import all the UI settings from the original profile without copying files buried deep in the Library directory (macOS), and that strategy also tends to copy bookmarks and other things that should be profile-specific. Firefox works better for me. I’m sorry Vivaldi isn’t going to cut it.

If you actually sit down with Vivaldi, and use it, for whatever purpose, you will be pleased. This has taken me from amazing browser prowess, to legendary. This browser, if you take the time to understand it and how it will work for you, you’ll find yourself with one of the greatest tools in your arsenal. Especially if your focus is on productivity. Vivaldi shines in nearly every aspect for which I need it. It has gotten me through college, helped me understand what the freedom to mold its capabilities can bring, and proved its epic stature after even letting my wife use it for a few days for a conference until her laptop was repaired by a warranty defect; she called me up that second day asking why I never told her about this amazing software, when in fact I had. She is the hardest of hardcore Google Chrome fanatics, but now she uses Vivaldi with me. Your browser. Your setup. Your dos and dont’s. Your methodology. Your way. Your everything. Perfection. Unbelievable. Outstanding. Bliss! I use this on Windows, Mac, and Pi 5. Pi 5 still has some work yet, but they are getting there. And screw Snaps. Garbage. Flatpaks are great, but those Snaps, I can’t believe people like this garbage. If you use Vivaldi on Snaps, don’t. Unbelievably awful. If you are using Vivaldi with Snaps and asking yourself, “None of the praise is validated, but how? Why?” Two words: Delete Snaps. It’s garbage. I ended up compiling on my Pi 5 and the same in my FreeBSD and Linux VMs. This is how a browser should fit the user. How browser should complement the user, and vice versa. Perfection. I highly recommend.

FINALLY!! Thank you! This browser has everything anyone would want. Safe, fast, secure, private, customizing, wallpaper, color, changing header color, and search bar. Beautiful, gorgeous, it's like scrolling with butter, absolutely perfectly smooth negativing and transitioning through entire broswer. You can pick any browser for your search engine. Truly ALL IN ONE BROWSER. I didn't have it crash or lag. It didn't ask me to write a review in the first 5 seconds, not at all. Actually, you get everything you possibly want, and it’s free. I tried multiple different browsers. Safari has its own issues. Google Chrome doesn’t let you customize anything or put any color. Oprah lagged so terribly brave, which is similar to this browser. The safety features include a privacy button and no customization. Thank you, this is how you made an incredible app. You don’t have to get people with a free trial. You don't have a pop-up in the first three seconds of downloading asking you to rate the quality of the product, which is why I’ve realized that most of the highest-standing apps have that. I appreciate your approach. You guys are amazing, thank you so much. You changed my daily life and made it so much better. You have created an excellent, incredible browsing app, and I genuinely hope that everyone sees how wonderful this app is and that you get the praise you deserve because all of you deserve it. 5/5Basically perfect on desktop but some noticeable issues on mobile
Let me be clear that this is still a fantastic mobile browser but imo there are a few very noticeable issues that make it difficult for me to say 100% that it’s the best one. I love the desktop style tabs with tab stacks, and the customization options. However there needs to be a better adblocker. Too many sites have visible ads still. Also, there needs to be an option to display the tab switcher and potentially other buttons on the bottom panel, especially instead of the home button. I’m surprised this isn’t an option already I would also like to see the option to more easily differentiate between opening sites in apps and staying in the browser. Safari does this very well. If you hold a link and tap open, it won’t open that link in the app, but if you just tap it, it will. And it will remember the last thing you did and do that by default the next time you tap the link. But if you change your mind after tapping a link and opening it in the browser, you can still tap open at the top of the browser to open that page there. I’m not sure if this is some Apple restriction but Vivaldi lacks these features almost entirely. The autofill also needs to be better. Brave automatically fills passwords in that are saved. Vivaldi requires an extra tap and Face ID scan. Can get kind of annoying. None of these are dealbreakers but just things that can get a bit annoying. If these were addressed, this would be essentially the perfect mobile browser. Thanks for making such a great app, guys.

Installed this browser because i heard it's good... But not effective in blocking pop up ads... As a new tab is auto open... and no way to stop it... but other browsers don't have this issue...
