  1. 1/5Absolutely terrible experience

Have stayed in Blueground for over 6 months previously and was a repeat customer. This time it was a terrible experience. The home had a taped showerhead that was leaking water, restroom was not working, no heat or cooling in near zero temperatures outside, non working wifi, missing basic amenities that blueground provides for the first couple of days, dirty apartment (huge egg splatter on microwave). It was totally unlivable coupled with loud construction noise outside. When I felt compelled to leave within 15 days even though I had prepaid for the whole month, support never responded to the messages. Even now 2 weeks after vacating ahead of schedule I haven’t heard back from support. Really traumatic experience and definitely wouldn’t recommend.

  2. 5/5Easy breezy!

My long term stay in New York was made so easy by Blueground. The apartment was exactly like it was pictured. Communication and instructions were clear and easy to follow. We did not encounter even one hiccup and that is extremely rare in today’s world! Had a light that burned out in the kitchen and I contacted them and it was fixed pronto! I also used their recommended transportation company and they were excellent too. Highly recommend Blueground to anyone and they will definitely be my go to in the future when I need a place to stay. Thank you Blueground for such excellent service! Keep up the good work.

  3. 1/5Misleading Parking Information and Extremely Stressful Experience

I rented apartment (The Lafayette, Bay Area) through Blueground partly because the listing indicated that parking was available. In reality, there is no available parking in the building, I was placed on a waitlist with no estimated timeline, and the only “solution” offered was SpotHero — despite there being no realistic parking options available nearby. The most frustrating part is that these apartments are marketed and priced as premium rentals. We are paying an extremely high amount of rent, yet dealing with basic problems like not even being able to park our car near our home. We have a 3.5-year-old child, and the moving process was already extremely exhausting for our family. I tried to be understanding at first because there were multiple issues during move-in over the weekend, but the parking situation has become completely unacceptable. I have spent hours driving around searching for parking at night, was left without a parking space on the street, and eventually even received a parking ticket because we were forced to park wherever we could find a spot. I shared videos and documentation with the company, but there is still no real solution. With the World Cup approaching, the area is becoming even more crowded, which will make parking almost impossible in the evenings. Paying such a high rental price while dealing with this level of stress every single day is simply unreasonable. If parking is not actually guaranteed or realistically available, this should be stated clearly before people rent these apartments.

  4. 1/5Legal Mess, Life Upended

I rented three different apartments from Blueground over the last 3 years. One day I came home to an eviction/court summons notice at my door — despite having the unit rented for the next 4 months. The summons stated that Blueground had failed to pay the building’s rent for two consecutive months, was being sued by the building owner, and that all tenants were subject to eviction by court order. What followed was a month of sparse, cryptic chat messages from Blueground — never a phone call — flip-flopping between “please disregard the notice,” “you’ll need to move out but we can’t say when,” and “you can stay another two weeks.” When it came time to collect my next monthly payment, they suddenly became very confident I could stay the whole month. By this point I knew for a fact they had no way of knowing. A tenant’s rights attorney confirmed that with similar lawsuits sometimes resolving in as little as a month, I could have received a final eviction notice with only 5 days to vacate — and Blueground had no way of guaranteeing my stay. There’s a real possibility they had been pocketing tenant payments for months without paying the landlord, and according to the property manager, all 10 or so Blueground tenants in the building were in the same situation. Facing that level of negligence and uncertainty was extremely taxing and disruptive to my life. I decided to move out early and end my relationship with Blueground entirely. I had to go $2K over budget due to unplanned hotel and storage costs, but I’m glad it’s over. With so many competitors for medium-term rentals, do NOT trust Blueground with your money.

  5. 1/5Avoid this service at all costs

My entire stay was extremely below expectations and frankly put my safety at risk. The first issue was that the listing advertises parking, in the same way it advertised a security door, as an amenity, yet the building has no parking. This is true of multiple blueground properties that I checked on. While the false advertising was bad enough, I couldn’t get a response on the parking situation when I reached out to double-check until I had already started the six-hour drive to the city, and only after calling and escalating a number of times. When I asked blueground to make this right by way of a credit for the $500+ I was out of pocket (without even considering the extra inconvenience of having to park a block away in a public lot) not one person offered any regret or offered to make this right. In addition to the parking situation I tried for weeks to get the door buzzer changed so it would ring to my phone and was never able to get that done by blueground. I had over $400 worth of packages stolen because of this. During the pandemic when it is absolutely crucial for safety to have things delivered I was not able to reliably receive packages. Of minor note, I was also relying on being able to book cleanings as advertised but the app is just broken or something is wrong so that wasn’t possible. There were limited cleaning supplies provided so cleaning was very difficult. In summary, I will be telling anyone who will listen not to use this service. I lead a large team of remote workers at the third largest tech company on the planet who travel for business a lot and I will make sure none of us ever use blueground. Truly a horrible experience.
