2/5Not worth it
I finally bid on a bunch of items and went a bit out of my way to pick them up…I have purchased from auctions throughout the years, but wasn’t sure what to expect. The warehouse was decently organized…but, it is difficult to get any questions answered since most of the workers speak Spanish and have a hard time understanding what you are saying. The reason I am giving such a poor rating is because they put things on the website mainly using stock photos and a picture of the box or open box and not the contents. Next, unless the rating says brand new…the items may be useless. You would think ‘Good Condition’ would mean just that…especially if you are use to eBay and even ShopGoodwill. I had at least 2 purchases that were marked good condition that were missing vital parts. I was mainly upset about a cordless drill that I was getting for my daughter to have at her townhouse. Keep in mind you can only check your items after you check out…which is useless because they don’t accept returns. I explained that a drill which shows all the pieces in the auction and does not mention things are missing…was basically useless and not in Good Condition since it did not have the battery, charger, nor any of the bits. She stated it was because most people will have an extra battery to attach to it! She also said I could have come to check it out prior…that is a waste of time in my opinion and do they actually allow everyone and anyone to open all the boxes to check the items out? I doubt it. Then there was an item I could not find…they marked it missing and I have yet to get refunded. I have since donated half of my items to goodwill and will never use this online auction again. I honestly think THEY need to be more transparent with the items and show exactly what you are bidding on. So, my recommendation for anyone still compelled as I was to try them out…only bid on new items

1/5“Good Condition”… Even When It’s Broken and Unusable
I’ve used the BidFTA app for a couple of years, but the experience has gotten dramatically worse recently. Ever since new management took over, the rules keep changing — and always in ways that benefit them, not the customers. For a long time, their policy for items labeled “Good Condition” made sense. You could purchase the item, inspect it at pickup, and return it if it turned out to be broken or not as described. That system made the auctions feel fair and manageable. Now they’ve changed the fine print while still using the same “Good Condition” label. I’ve personally received items marked “Good Condition” that were clearly broken, missing parts, or completely mislabeled. The biggest problem is that returns are no longer an option. If you win an auction and the item is junk, you’re stuck with it. To make matters worse, support is basically nonexistent. I’ve tried contacting them about issues and never received a response. No resolution, just an automated response with the most recent policy. What used to be a fun way to find deals has turned into a risky gamble where buyers carry all the risk and the company takes no responsibility. After years of using the platform, I can’t recommend it anymore.

1/5They do not stand by condition
I purchased an item listed as “new/like new”. It was a pet fountain. So, since it was listed as such, I bid $15. ASSUMING the fountain worked. The fountain did not work. So I contacted them and they said I should have tested it in the store however one needs water to test the item. So I told them this and they said oh if it’s an item that’s difficult to test such as needing water we don’t test it. So I explained to them that this is a problem because I purchased the item thinking it was new or like new since that’s how it was listed. And they told me that there was nothing they could do and that I “should not bid on items if I’m not willing to take that risk”. RIDICULOUS! Needless to say, I will not be back.

1/5Terrible Update
The “Saved Search” section will find items and organize based on the newness of the listing but it does not separate old (previously viewed) listings from newly listed items. This is not helpful because each location has different listing periods. If you find an item based on a search, you still cannot navigate to other items in the auction from the items page. The new interface is more compact and perhaps more visually appealing but the functionality of the app is not great. I really hope the devs change these things. On the business side, BIDFTA is buying inferior lots and there’s a lot of shill bidding. The prices have never been so high and quality never so poor. Private locations such as Phillips are now trying to auction at discounted retail prices with starting bids in the hundreds. If you accidentally make the first bid on an item with an inflated starting bid, customer service is not at all helpful and you just have to pay hundreds for your mistake. This is no longer a place for resellers.

1/5Glitch and Pay
The “well marked” according to their customer service for items charged by the qty is in fact not well marked. I saw some cards for what I thought was $4.50 when I clicked to bid the pop up that the qty was 99 and multiplied by the $4.50 I clicked no. I clicked no a couple of times and the app was froze until I guess I hit something that triggered a bid. I immediately reached out frantically because it is not my fault if a glitch or whatever it was. You can clearly see from my other bids I don’t go over $10 on anything. Rarely do I go above $5. Go through online if you want to use them. The app has the reviews for a reason I just did not listen.
