1/5No longer has the option to watch recordings
I used to absolutely love this app. I prefer to watch my recording on my kindle fire and I’ve also moved from where the actual recording box is which means that the app is also the only way for me to watch them at all so this was always super convenient. Unfortunately a couple of months ago the app updated and got rid of my ability to watch my recorded shows on all my kindle fire devices as well as my iPad. I’ve called and called and called Xfinity and they say they’ve “tried” to fix it and even say that they will call me back to confirm it’s been fixed but of course they never do. Honestly, they don’t even understand what the issue is. They think I just can’t watch my recordings because of an error but the issue is that I don’t have the recording box option on the app at all. When you open “My Library” there is supposed to be an option for “Recordings” and “Scheduled,” I don’t have either, I only have “My Lists,” “My Downloads,” and “My Purchases.” I’ve seen that others have also had this issue, some for even a year now, and I’m hoping that Xfinity will see my review and get their butts in gear and finally do something about it than just claiming to and blaming the issue on my devices. And yes, I’ve tried deleting the app, signing out of the app, restarting my devices, having the app troubleshooted, everything. Will consider updating and changing my rating and review when they finally fix this issue because as of right now, I have no access whatsoever to any of my recordings.

1/5Constant disappointment
Nothing but problems constantly with Xfinity service. Signal constantly goes out. We’ve had service men out to check the lines and been told the problems are on the poles further down the street. However seems fishy when WiFi is working and it’s only the xfinity streaming app that isn’t working. Also we bought a Samsung 4K TV specifically so we wouldn’t have to use a box since Xfinity advertised Samsung TVs were compatibility with their streaming app. Constant disappointment with poor streaming quality. Picture lags like other reviewers comment on; screen freezes and sound sometimes continues, but then remains out of sync until restarting the app. The tv guide and menus are unreadable and garbled; the bits of descriptions that are readable don’t match the show that was selected. The picture quality is so bad, the 4K TV screen investment is completely wasted; there was a better picture on the analog tv with an antenna 40 years ago than through the streaming app. Service people have said we could avoid these issues if we used one of the cable boxes, but it’s just bad business to advertise an app that doesn’t work. I have determined it does matter what device you try to stream on, since I can be connected to my in home WiFi on my cell phone and stream successfully while the Samsung tv fails. I’ve been careful to not confuse tv set issues with app streaming issues. Xfinity needs to do better.

1/5Xfinity hires liars
Xfinity is the worst. They lie about everything. I changed my tv package to one with less channels and they told me several times it would not go in effect until the next billing cycle. Less than an hour later I lost my internet, phone, and cable service. I managed to get internet and cable back by resetting the router but several rests of the cable box did nothing. I called and was told by somebody whose most understandable words were “I’m sorry for the inconvenience “ that she would fix the problem before we hung up. That turned out to be a lie because she ultimately told me that the cable box I had was not the primary cable box even though it’s the only one I have, and that it would take 3-5 business days to get a new one. She told me when I got the new one I would have to pay to send the old nonworking one back to them or I would continue to get charged for it. She told me that the new one would come via UPS but I received a tracking notice from FedEx, so she even lied about that. When I checked the streaming app, I found out that they had already changed the tv package so now I’ve paid for an entire month of an upper tier package but getting cut short of those channels by almost a week. I’m spending the next few days looking for a company that doesn’t hire liars and shysters.

5/5Xfinity app
I absolutely love Xfinity app. I can play it on my iPad. I can take a bath watching TV. I can take it in my room and not bother my husband and continue to watch my show either on my phone or my iPad. Xfinity always comes in. I never have an issue with it not on my television in my living room or my bedroom or my app or my phone. I just absolutely love Xfinity. No, there is an issue. Their pricing is stupid ridiculous and I’m almost getting ready to the point to shut them off however, let’s just say right now they’re doing great. Until they change their prices or I can get a whole TV with every app on it and half of them are free. Looks like I might be doing that unless they changed their wazes I didn’t realize one day I would be paying for television or paying for water. Yes, I’m vintage 1977 but what I am gonna say is the governor bodies over Sacramento said we would never ever pay for water. Why are we paying for water and why are we paying for cable television for the luxury? That’s great I am so glad there’s free ads and TVs like Roku, which I can get those on every television and my iPad as well but Xfinity does pretty good why I still have it thanks guys.

3/5Xfinity Streaming has not worked yet!
I have had mine since Feb 20th and still can’t stream. From what I can tell you can download the streaming app on newer versions of my TV in the family room but mine is 7 years old but still a 55” LG Smart TV. I mainly started my service back up because I desperately needed the Internet to job hunt and that is where all my time has been spent (easy when your Cable isn’t working). I paid extra for the 300 mb/sec so I would be prepared to accept any type of position available including work from home, independent consultation, or partial commute. That is when the sales rep talked about the awesome streaming app and no monthly fee for equipment because there are no cable boxes for every TV. The 300 mb/sec Internet comes with a different router than other plans and it is also required for the streaming app service. The sales rep really unsold here on the service and by lowering my monthly bill due to no charges for each cable TV box, that is what sold me on this plan. Sales reps should verify over phone the make/model of your electronic equipment to ensure compatible for streaming services to work as intended for optimal performance. This would make sure customers have a good experience getting up and running efficiently and effectively with the new service being introduced. Plus, it is just the right thing to do.
