New: Inner Camino House — a small donativo rest stop in Viloria de Rioja, now featured along the Camino Francés. Stop in for a coffee, a rest, and a moment of calm. Albergue prices and details refreshed throughout. Buen Camino!

New: Notes. Leave yourself a note on any town, albergue, or stop on the route, or drop a pin on the map — water, viewpoints, photo spots, places you want to return to. They gather on one page in order along the Camino, ready to search and export, and stay private on your phone. And if you spot a price change or a closure, you can now report it to me right from the listing. Buen Camino. — Michael

This release brings the map to life. Tap the new Layers button for points of interest — churches, monuments and castles from Wikipedia, plus drinking fountains, viewpoints, ruins, picnic areas and pharmacies along your route, each with its own info card. I've redrawn every map pin for a cleaner look, pilgrim comments now appear in your language wherever I have a translation, and the map no longer snaps back to your location while you look ahead. I've also refreshed the route tracks with cleaner elevation profiles and a few corrections, updated a number of albergues with the latest information I have, and fixed a few bugs along the way. A big update this time around. New on the map: a 6th style — 3D — to help you get your bearings in the bigger cities. And every map style now responds to a two-finger tilt, so you can lean the map back and look off into the distance to see what's ahead. If you plan with the itinerary, there's a lot here for you: - Dates are now supported, including multi-night stays in the same town. - The stage banners at the start and end of each day tell you far more now. - Notes you add in the online planner come along for the ride — they import straight into the app. - City pages now show what you've booked, whether it's confirmed, and how you booked it. - The map can walk you through your itinerary one stage at a time. Fixed map arrow direction on iOS. Restored language picker in Settings. Distance numbers now use your locale's decimal separator.

Some of you opened the offline map and found... an empty world. The markers had wandered off on certain devices. I rounded them up, gave them a stern talking-to, and pinned them back where they belong. Your offline map is properly populated again. Plus a fix for pilgrims counting in miles — distances now read right across all screens.

Heads-up for early June: several Xunta (regional) albergues close for a single day each between 1–12 June for maintenance. The app now flags every affected albergue with the exact date, so you can plan around it. Offline maps refreshed — if you use them, open Settings and re-download to get the latest. Buen Camino!

You can now share your Camino with other pilgrims — send your itinerary and notes by QR code or file, and import theirs just as easily. You can also back up your plan and notes to a file, so they're safe if you change phones. Thanks for walking with Wise Pilgrim. Buen Camino!

Fly your Camino before you walk it. The new Flyover screen gives you a cinematic 3D preview of every stage in your itinerary, and Explore mode lets you roam the whole route in 3D. The dashboard is now yours to arrange — press and hold any card to move it. Also includes the latest albergue updates from the trail.

This update is about finding things faster. Search has arrived. Tap the magnifying glass on the guide or the map and jump straight to any town or albergue on the route. Measure distances with your finger. Press and hold any stop on the list, then drag up or down. The distance to wherever your finger lands appears as you go, following the route you have selected. If your itinerary has dates, the map now opens on today's stage. Tapping the stage name brings the view back to that day's walk whenever you wander off exploring. Elevation figures are now properly smoothed. Climbs read like the guidebooks instead of overshooting, and stage difficulty and walking times are truer for it. The scissor filter learned a new trick. Alongside trimming the list from your location, it can now trim to today's stage when your itinerary has dates: tap it to cycle between the two. And it no longer hides the town you are sleeping in. Also fixed: itineraries imported from the website now carry your chosen accommodation for each stop, the favorites filter shows your places right away, and a long press no longer opens a place by accident. This update is about seeing your plan on the map. The bed you have chosen now shows where it belongs. Your booked accommodation appears on the map with a colored dot: green when it is confirmed, amber when you have asked, red when you have picked it but not booked yet. Favorites you have saved sit alongside it in gray. Once you have chosen where to sleep in a town, the other options there fade back, and so does every town you are not stopping in. What stands out is your own walk. Every accommodation now tells you where it actually is: how far from the Camino, which side of the trail it sits on and in which direction, and how far from the center of town, before or after it as you walk. Also fixed: importing an itinerary from the website no longer clears the accommodation you had chosen on your other routes. Buen Camino.

Print your Camino. Your itinerary now exports as a PDF — a page for each day, with the stage, its elevation profile, every town you walk through, and the bed you have booked with its status. Choose what comes with you: descriptions, notices, notes about the Camino itself, history. Leave them off and you get a clean sheet; turn them on and you carry the whole guide. The summary page holds a QR that loads your entire plan onto another pilgrim's phone, and every booked bed carries one that opens it in Maps — so a printed page can still find your albergue in the dark. Also: Settings now keeps the guide's accommodation data separate from the app itself. The data updates in the app; the app updates in the App Store. Share the day you walked. Pick a photo from today and the app makes a card out of it: the two towns, the distance, and the day's climb drawn underneath with a walker standing exactly where the photo was taken. Your photos remember where they were shot, so each one lands at its own point along the stage. Up to ten at a time, in story or square, for Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, or just your own camera roll. No plan, or a Camino you walked years ago? Choose the photos and we work the day out from them. Or share a single spot — a view, a bar, the fountain you sat at — and the card names the nearest town and the distance still ahead of you. Travelling on: walk into a town in the morning and leave the same afternoon by train or bus. Set it on that stop and the night stops counting, your dates stay right, and the day numbers keep counting only the days you actually walk. Bringing a plan over from wisepilgrim.com now lands exactly the way you drew it — forks and all. If you chose the path less taken, the app keeps it that way. Travelling on by train or bus? You can now sleep first and catch the morning one, instead of leaving the same day. Not sure where to begin? Every route now comes with sample itineraries — gentle, standard, strong — worked examples to start from and drag about until they're yours. Plus a little housekeeping in the accommodation directory, with a few new beds. Buen Camino!

Post offices, with the hours that matter. Correos' full register is now in the app, so you can see when the counter in a small village is open (sometimes only twenty minutes a day). A fresh data pass across every route: places, beds and services brought up to date. And for those who plan ahead, a small new companion is tucked into the planner. Buen Camino!
