1. 2/5App Just Quit

   Been using the app with a Vantage Pro 2 wireless for years. Yesterday, the app quit working in my iPhone. I still get The summary data on the header still appears, but when I click on it for the detailed data every field is filled with two hyphens (—), the three dots just keep blinking as if it’s trying to load and it just never populates the data fields. Funny thing is, it still works perfectly on my wife’s phone. So I downloaded SmartMixin. I think I like it better already ! Loaded right up and looks a lot better. Davis technical support has been absolutely useless after two calls they have no ideas and don’t seem to care.

2. 2/5Fix the bugs!

   This app is rather average. Good enough and gets the job done, but could be so much more. But the worst part is that they still have not fixed the age verification bug that constantly asks to verify if I’m old enough to look at the content….of a weather app. I shouldn’t have to disclose my age to open an app to view my own weather station data. The other aspects that are mid include the maps, which are lame or really just a single map of temperature. Also it’s not clear why Davis AWI data are not included in national stats and I see no way to view Davis AQI data nationally. For a company that is fairly prosumer the features are pretty entry level

3. 4/5Not pretty but highly functional

   I’ve tried the most popular weather system available today and I have to say that they all have fallen short or failed except for the Davis Instruments equipment which I have had for over 10 years. The app is very useful although it’s display seems dated and not as pretty as some of the others available. The best thing about the app and the weather station is that it updates automatically every 2.5 seconds. No other station that I have tried is that fast. Makes it easier to capture wind speed data.

4. 2/5Live features of WeatherLink broken about 90 days ago

   The critical feature of live data on iOS platform version of app was broken either with iOS 17 update or client app update that occurred last fall. Was very disappointed to see it’s still not fixed in this week’s latest WeatherLink iOS app update. Please tell us how to downgrade to an earlier version to restore Live data. 90 days is too long for this critical feature to be broken. Would have rated the app a 4 or 5 if the live feature still worked (there is the iPad issue of no landscape mode. You’d think with the popularity of tablets that deficiency would have been solves by now.)

5. 4/5Very Pleased!

   To have mobile access to not only my weather station but all the others in the area, or when I’m visiting elsewhere, to have access to the mosaic of conditions in the area is fantastic! Loads of high quality point specific data!! The app is somewhat dated compared to what’s available out there. Looking at Carrot Weather that is built by a one man show, there is tons of room for improvement. Also would love to have an Apple Watch version, just simple data available at the quickest glance.
