  1. 5/5Easy to use, results transmitted without issue

Test was transmitted without a hitch. Attaching the sensors was easy. Pairing the device went flawlessly. Not really sure what all the negative reviews are about. I didn’t have a single issue. No discomfort. I just followed the instructions which were clear and easy to follow. 💁🏼 I checked in with Lofta to make sure everything got to them as I’ve read several reviews the test information did not send. They received it without issue. I got my test results from a sleep doctor in less than 12 hours and a full personalized recommendation. It was easy to understand. I requested my prescription and it was password protected and emailed to me, again within 12 hours. I really can’t speak enough to the level of care I’ve received. A few tips. If you follow the instructions to the letter, you won’t have any issues. Go step by step. If at any point the device isn’t working, contact Lofta. Their customer service is awesome. Be patient with the technology. Make sure it’s connected (green light) and that the watch is not too tight. Attach the sensor on your chest with some medical tape. Don’t put the finger with the sensor over your head or higher than your heart and you won’t have discomfort/throbbing. Be patient. Relax.

  2. 5/5Works like it should

This has been a bank saver and what I mean by that is I didn’t have to go spend 1,000 to 5,000 taking the sleep test. I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews, far as their finger being sore (unbearably). As a 6 foot 300 pound man with bigger than normal fingers, I did not have the same experience as most. Am not telling you your finger won’t be a little sore when you take it off, it was sore for maybe 45 minutes but it was nothing to get on here and write a bad review about it. After taking the test, my results were in and I had an appointment scheduled the next day to talk with someone. If you or someone that can follow directions fairly well this test is for you. If you take it upon yourself thinking you know best with every situation, you should probably go and see a specialist. Best thousand of dollars I’ve saved yet!

  3. 1/5Ironic that a sleep study app can’t have the phone go to sleep while it collects data

Apparently the devs haven’t figured out how to make this app run in the background like other data collection apps have been doing for 15 years. The phone has to be on and awake the entire time. I’ve poured through the documentation and setup videos and nowhere is it mentioned explicitly. Yes it tells you to leave the phone plugged in. But that’s not the same thing as telling you it must be *awake* all night. The problem arises for people who have managed devices with security settings on them. Often times security profiles deliberately prevent a phone from staying on permanently or for long periods (because if it does, then there’s a good chance someone else can access it when you’re not aware). So the effect here is that as soon as your phone goes to sleep, because it’s forced to, the app disconnects. There is no way to fix it once you start the sleep study. You can’t remove security profiles that would require the phone to reboot and interrupt the app. WatchPAT won’t allow you to disconnect its device and move it to another phone. Those who pay for this study out of pocket basically just spent $$$ for nothing.

  4. 3/5Need to set your phone to keep screen on

They don’t make this clear in the instructions but you need to have your phone set to not fall asleep and keep the app open with the screen on all night. The app is not smart enough to do this for you so you need to go into your phone settings and change it so your phone does not auto close the screen. If you have device management on your phone (like if you have email from your job on your phone) they may prevent you from doing this and you may need to uninstall the device management. This is all very unclear because the instructions even say you can use your phone normally to check messages etc. I almost had the whole study not work because my phone went to sleep after I set up the test and I only was lucky enough to have a hunch to double check it was working before I fell asleep.

  5. 5/5Helpful Tips!

I had no issues whatsoever with the app. I actually found the steps very easy to follow. The most brought issue in the reviews is that you have to ensure your phone screen does not go off all night long. For iPhones go to settings > display and brightness > change Auto Lock to ‘never’ (don’t forget to change it back in the morning!) So that the screen light doesn’t bother you all night, keep your phone turned over on your night stand and keep your phone plugged in. Other tips, watch the videos, which are very informative. They literally show the same steps that you end up using when you’re setting up the equipment to get ready for the test. The equipment was very comfortable wearing all night. One person mentioned in a review that there were lights on the equipment, that was not my experience. Don’t get discouraged by the poor ratings of this app!
