1. 5/5The best alternative to YT app and more

   I don’t write reviews for apps hardly ever. But this app has been a godsend to someone who cannot stand long (and sometimes un-skippable)video ads. The referral program is a very nice touch even tho I haven’t used it yet. Had I more coin to spare i would gladly pay the $ for the no-ads package but I hope that the money made off of me from the non-instructive and quickly closable ads (that do NOT interrupt videos often; if at all) can eventually add up to over $10 for the no-ads package because honestly, this person (or team) deserves it. Constant updates and improvements that easily make the official YT app look like a cheap and greedy knock-off. Background playback is the biggest cherry-on-top. Fantastic. Thank you so much for this app. You’re making our video-surfing MUCH more pleasurable while not screwing over your users with any kind of malicious or annoying bait. I appreciate it greatly as I’m sure many others do.

2. 4/5Great for YT to a point [Update]

   I love this app and use it every single day to watch videos, but ever since YT changed things and made it impossible for the Enhanced Player to work, it made it pretty difficult to continue watching videos in Picture in Picture mode even w/ the standard player. I hope they get the Enhanced Player working again soon because by itself, it makes the app 5 Star worthy Update: Even after another year, they’ve yet to bring back the original Enhanced Player with the great PnP player + extra bells and whistles for Second Screeners like myself. For a while as well, there was a huge problem with rewinding videos where the sound would be missing after 3-7 seconds of starting from the beginning of a video that could only be remedied with another rewind (or pausing for longer than 6 seconds). It seems like they’ve MOSTLY FIXED THIS as of December 22nd, 2025…but they still has some work to do. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ENHANCED PLAYER AND FIX THE MISSING SOUNDS AFTER REWINDS ISSUE 100%! If so, this app would be a 10/10!

3. 5/5Had to write a review for this one

   I owe developers everywhere an apology because I don't review apps i use enough...but this one i felt compelled to change that. I've used this app daily now for over 2 years, and I've been very satisfied the whole time. As always there's a couple minor things I'd change, mostly just the full screen button.***(see footnote below) But overall, this app just works consistently, day after day. I don't have to be a developer to know how hard it is to keep an app that dependable on iOS as it has to flawlessly integrate changes in iOS and yt API. The team beyond Video Lite has done an extraordinary job in that respect! ***For some reason they designed it so the fullscreen button opens a selection box to choose full screen or pip, making the "full screen" action two steps unnecessarily. Pip should just be a separate button, no selection box for either.)

4. 5/5Problems with new update

   I use this app literally everyday day and I love it. My biggest regret is updating it. This new update does not loop video or connect to airplay as easily as it did before. Sometimes I’ll connect it to airplay and the video won’t show at all, it’ll only play sound. It also doesn’t auto rotate the video orientation when I turn my phone sideways anymore. Having to manually hit the full screen button for rotation and manually hit the replay button even when “loop video” is on as well as having to try multiple times to connect to airplay when none of this was an issue before is beyond frustrating. Hoping this gets fixed

5. 2/5Got worse over time

   I’ve had this app for about a year, when I first got it, it was great, with a few ads sometimes. I bought the premium ad free subscription, and for the next few months it was perfect. But as it got more and more updates it began to lose quality. Videos would randomly not work, it would give the “video paused, still watching?” Message when it didn’t use to. The the general ui would sometimes break or just bug out. Most videos lose the option to repeat or some other options. The shuffle option for playlists would just sometimes dissapear. I mainly use this app to listen to music while working, but because of the random pauses when I have my phone off, it became intolerable as I would have to replay the video every five minutes because it would stop. Definitely was better before all the updates. Still works but is just a hassle now.
