3/5Good app until now…
Just played the Third Scenario in Unlock… The Curse on Camelot… I ran into a lot of bugs…the app locked up multiple times requiring a restart and the app required voice recognition that didn’t work throughout the whole scenario. The app has ways to work around it …which makes me think they anticipated voice recognition problems. However one of the last puzzles has no workaround … so we weren’t able to finish it. This unlock box set has had the most bugs yet of all unlock sets. For reference I was playing on an Iphone15. Overall these are good…so I can’t tank the app rating … because of flaws in the most recent boxes that have been released. The bugs unfortunately are causing frustration in the more recent sets making these less enjoyable to play.

2/5I’m sorry, this game is just kind of garbage.
I hate saying that this game is just kind of garbage … obviously a lot of love and care went into his. The illustrations are lovely. And someone really has the beginnings of some good ideas. And I spent hard-earned money, so yeah, I’d like this to not be bad. Unfortunately, the execution leaves a lot to be desired. For starters, the whole process of the game is too complex. Or maybe ‘hard to follow’ would be more correct. It seems obvious to me that the designers of this game thought they had a bunch of great ideas; they went nuts pumping it full of stuff that is just too clever by half. I’m not even talking about the actual ‘escape room’ part. Just figuring out which cards get turned over and when is too much. The rules are a logic puzzle in and of themselves, and not the fun kind. We’re going to give this another go tomorrow night. But, if I’m being honest, it sounds more like drudgery than fun. But I spent hard-earned money, so we have to try.

4/5Needs work but a good idea
When I first played Unlock! it was kinda hard and didn’t make sense. They wanted you to combine stuff that didn’t make sense together. Also the machines wanted me to do things that I was doing and they didn’t work that well. The last bad thing was that it didn’t tell you that you needed sound so I got stuck on one part because I needed to do it correctly. It was a good bonding experience and a good idea. After I turned my sound on though the sound worked fine. I like that they come in packs of three so you can get another pack before you do all three that you have. I did it on my iPad and had no problems with sound. I think they’re hints are good. Also you can do it whenever. So a good idea but needs work.

3/5REALLY needs some updates
My friends and I love this game. We play it all the time. However, the app needs some updates. It is not optimized for the newer iPhone models (black edges) and we have experienced issues where the game tells you to pick the wrong number card (we experienced this on the The Tonipal’s Treasure game, where correctly solving a puzzle tells you to add the wrong number to a card and ruined the game because we didn’t know which way to go). Overall, this is a great game with a great ideas. The app just needs some updates.

5/5Excellent in every way — make sure your iPhone isn’t on silent mode!
We’ve played every Unlock! game that’s been released. We love them, and are awaiting more releases. We also play on an iPhone—several different models, in fact. We’ve had no sound problems. Note: if you’re only getting sound through headphones, and not through your speakers, check that you don’t have the “silent mode” switch on the side of your phone engaged; unsurprisingly, you won’t get sound through the speakers if you’re in silent mode.
