   Udisc has done an excellent job of igniting my passion for the sport. The pro version offers a ton for what is honestly a very low annual price. It’s incredibly simple to find courses to play, and there’s a very detailed description of every course and its layouts. It says if a course is currently open, if it’s pay to play, if it’s a public or private course and who to contact if necessary. In terms of usage while playing, it offers just about everything one could ask for. It has a map of each hole, hole distance and par, distance to pin, and the ability to track individual throws. If you wanted you could even track what disc you threw for each stroke, and designate where it landed. Udisc pro also does a fantastic job of tracking your scores over time, giving you the option to look back and compare your individual rounds. This personally has been one of my favorite features that the app has, as I have been trying to take the sport more seriously and want to improve my game. The best feature, though, is how easy it is to find new courses to play. You can pull up a map and filter by a variety of different options like number of holes, course rating, unplayed/already played, the list goes on. You can even wishlist courses and filter by that as well! This has been awesome for when I take trips out of town and can easily filter out to the select few courses I know I want to play. I could go on and on about how much this app has helped my passion for disc golf, but truly if you plan on playing, even infrequently, this app is an absolute must. The free version offers plenty as well!

2. 5/5Event Alerts Would Be a Huge Win for Players and Courses

   I’ve been using UDisc since the early days, and it’s been impressive to watch the growth and steady improvements over time. The platform has become an essential tool for the sport. Between scorekeeping, course discovery, and player stats, it has helped organize disc golf in a way that simply didn’t exist before. At Circle One and our courses, which we installed and actively manage alongside our pro shops, we see hundreds of players using UDisc daily. We also recommend the app frequently to new players for navigation and customers who come through our brick-and-mortar shops seeking somewhere new to play. In many ways, UDisc is becoming the bridge that connects new players to the broader disc golf community and helps them engage with the sport more quickly. One feature that would make a major difference would be a simple event or tournament notification tied directly to the course page. When a player taps on a course in the app, a banner could appear if a tournament, league, or organized event is happening that day, something like “Tournament in progress today from 8 AM–3 PM. COURSE CLOSED!” This would help prevent players from unknowingly arriving during events, reduce confusion on busy days, and give course operators and tournament directors a simple way to communicate course availability. With how widely UDisc is used now, even a small feature like this would greatly improve the overall experience for players, TDs, and facilities alike.

3. 4/5Pretty great

   Since getting into disc golf, this app has made the experience that much better. Best way to find and scope out courses nearby especially when traveling somewhere new. Keeping score is easy and there are so many extra features if you want to keep track of your throws and progress along the way. One of the best features is the gps map that helps direct you to the next tee/basket when you are on an unfamiliar course that doesn’t have clear markings. I’m not sure that the paid version/features are really worth it. I decided to do it though because I want to help support the app and I also liked being able to keep my score on my Apple Watch. However, I removed a star because the watch app seems to be too glitchy. It worked perfectly fine before they moved it to the paid version. Now it’s too annoying to even bother with it. The app doesn’t stay open on my watch (have to click the crown to open it every single time… this might be more apples fault than UDisc) but then it randomly jumps backwards to previous baskets/takes you out of order. If you’re not paying close attention, your scores will get all messed up… and then it’s annoying g to have to swipe all the way over to the correct basket. Easier to just take my phone out. I hope this is something that gets fixed because the watch app was really convenient when it did work.

4. 3/5Good app missing some key features

   This app would be five stars if it had a couple key personalization features. It needs lists. It needs the ability to make lists of your favorite courses. I don’t want have to search for a course name or re-search for a course on a map every time I want to play it. I can go look at old score cards to quickly find something, but it’s not the same. It needs the ability to have a friends list. I think this could be better if it had a social media component where you could add friends and see their “public” rounds. Maybe allow them to set some rounds to private. This also needs the ability to block or hide courses and stores. I don’t want to see all the stores and courses whenever I open the map. I would love to block or hide the ones I don’t like. Other than that, I love it. Fantastic app otherwise. And regardless of missing features, worth the money. Edit: The “wishlist” feature is good, but I want to be able to see my favorite courses on the map (maybe indicated by a different colored basket symbol). And more importantly, I want to be able to “hide” courses and stores I don’t like on the map.

5. 1/5Too many issues

   1. Biggest issue is lack of updates. Few years ago, support told me stat taking via Watch was in progress. Several years later and still no ability to take stats. 2. Watch app doesn’t update hole # on your phone. This impacts issue #3. 3. Bushnell jockey while using your watch doesn’t give proper distance unless you take your phone out and switch holes and then press jockey button. It still thinks your on the hole your phone thinks you’re at. 4. Bushnell jockey works 1/6 times I hit the button, even on courses I have great service on. Using iPhone 13 Pro with 5G, location services enable, background refresh enabled, etc. 5. User interface has improved greatly when looking at a course but lacks a proper start/home screen. It should default to a center button home with quick access to start round, Udisc Live, etc. It shouldn’t take 2 clicks and swipes just to view Udisc Live, one of the most used sections of the app. Why download a 2nd app? Nonetheless, I am currently not going to renew pro next year until stats come to watch. I’ve waited a few years and Udisc is the reason I bought a Watch to begin. App is still great, but doesn’t currently fit my needs as it did when I first started playing. Don’t take my review, test the app for your needs!
