  1. 2/5Very poor product design. Took 10 min to buy a ticket.

Visiting seattle and wanted to hop on the bus and go downtown. Downloaded this app, used my Apple ID. Then opening the app i had to go thru a series of screens determining what ticket i want to buy for what transit system (meanwhile the bus is coming and im rushing to make the selection) I figured with my Apple ID it would have all of my payment information and billing saved. It did not. So I tried to copy my payment information from my password manager, however, it does not allow copy and pasting, so I have to manually enter every digit of my payment and contact information, which is already accessible via Apple ID. Once I finally added that to the app, it was still sending me to the local store to buy a ticket with cash. Back to settings, changed payment method to credit card, went back through ticket selection to purchase flow, clicked buy now. Had to re-enter my CVC??? (Back to password manager app), manually enter in, then finally have a ticket. Missed the bus. As a UX and product design expert I’d like to offer a bit of help for your devs to make the world a better place. Here’s the expected user flow: 1. Download app. 2. Log in with ID (apple google whatever). 3. Scan barcode at bus stop > it loads ticket in app. 4. Pay using digital wallet (apple google pay). Done. OR - an even simpler product experience: 1. Pay using digital wallet at front of bus. Done.

  2. 2/5Bad interface, no Apple Pay

You must go to settings before you purchase a ticket and manually add a credit card, otherwise when you purchase a ticket, the app will default to payment at a local retailer, which is absurd. There is no option at that point to use a credit card, so as you are hastily trying to purchase a ticket, you are faced with walking a half mile away from the bus stop. Obviously if I had added a credit card ahead of time it would have been fine, but it’s backwards to how every other app is designed. I overheard several groups asking the same question incredulously. Please just have allow credit card to be prompted at the point of sale. Do not default to local retailer.

  3. 5/5Amazing

I live near Federal Way. I have a good friend who lives in Edmonds, a 7 minute drive from the Montlake station. It takes me 50-75 minutes to drive there. I decided to try the Link and save myself more than $20, and wear and tare on my car AND the stress of driving. I had so much damned fun. I didn’t put in ear buds. I didn’t spend time on my phone. I just watched the scenery and people. It was so nice! And relaxing! The cars were clean and the stations were convenient. I took the 1 up and back. My trip back was after dark and I was a littler nervous about being a woman alone. That lasted like 5 minutes after getting to the Montlake station. Very well lit. Plenty of employees off and on the trains. The rides both there and back were pleasant as far as other passengers go. No weird stuff or crazy behavior. No rudeness awkwardness. The Who trip was wonderful. I’m doing it again tomorrow!!

  4. 4/5Works just fine

iPhone 6 on iOS 10. No problems as others have complained. The app did take a few seconds to start, pull up my ticket and activate, so don't wait until you're boarding the bus to do this. Otherwise, it works just fine. The trip planner could be improved since it's just a mobile interface to their website, which I don't think is the most user friendly. At least being able to auto populate your location would be an improvement. If the location crosshair icon was supposed to do this, I couldn't get it to do anything. Until ORCA goes completely virtual, this app is great for the infrequent traveler without a card.

  5. 4/5Lost some money

Worked pretty good until the day I was at a stop and needed to go downtown. Stupid streetcar doesn’t show up when it should so I have to take the bus instead or wait 10 more minutes. Well already bought the streetcar ticket (you have to be ready to board) so now I buy the bus ticket as well. Happened to me twice. Finally ordered the orca card as we are staying a couple of months. Now it doesn’t matter who shows up bus or streetcar. Also I barely made it on a Sound transit bus at the Federal Way station. Tried to use this app with a transfer ticket as I just got off another bus. Luckily the driver was nice to us and explained it’s two different systems and let us on anyway. It can be confusing to a newcomer so once again the orca card will be fine to use on Sound Transit. This app works for a visit to Seattle. Just be aware of what you are boarding- Sound or Metro. You will need something else if it’s Sound, this app won’t work.

The app does not use Google Pay! Instead, you need to add a credit card manually. A deal breaker for me.

it's says that I could pay for this service at a store, but once I downloaded the app there's no way to pay at a store 🤔

it worked & then it didn't. I started using the app at the beginning of the year and it worked great at first. i would buy tickets in advance not realizing I wouldn't need them right away but learned i could use the tickets at a later time- then when I needed them they weren't available and I still need to call customer support. so suddenly the app wasn't working and it didn't tell me until after my purchase so I reached out but never heard back from anyone and this happened a couple times.

Useless. Cant even use the search bar for trip planning because there's a banner blocking it.

I am trying to redeem a reward. The app needs to text me a code to complete the transaction. Despite a half dozen attempts, the text never gets to me.
