1. 4/5Good but HELP BATSIGNAL TO DEVELOPERS

   First off, thank you SO much for this app. The fact that I don’t have to go to physical place to refill the card is a dream, and I love it dearly. However, I’m in a pickle where it wanted me to update my billing address for paying with a personal card on Apple Pay, and I did that, made sure it matched in my Apple Pay settings and the Orca app, and it still won’t work or update-keeps saying “update billing address” where I would normally use my fingerprint to process the payment. Thank you to anyone who sees this, I don’t know nothing about tech but am so grateful for all you all do 💞💞💞 Permission to email or fix or whatever ya gotta do, did everything I could/what it prompted me to do.

   I can no longer use my saved payment info during checkout, or give the info at checkout without error. Went to quickly load my Orca card and was stumped and frustrated. Yet, in my account settings I can view the credit card that I have as a saved method of payment. I can even edit the nickname that saved card. Still doesn’t appear as an option in the drop down at checkout, only “Apple Pay” or add a new card (which results in an error despite accurate info provided). This issue wasted a good chunk of my time and made my life harder, so I can’t give it anything other than the lowest rating. Applications are supposed to have a distinct function, and this currently cannot serve a single one for me.

   I recently lost my orca card. It’s taken 8 days for the card to even be shipped—in which time I’ve had to explain to every bus driver that I have a pass and show my digital card. One bus driver didn’t even seem to know what a regional pass is and told me to tap my phone but I couldn’t…Not having a tap to pay with Apple wallet seems like a huge missed opportunity—especially with how long it takes a card to be sent by mail, the frequency that people lose their cards, and the ease of having a tap pay by phone instead of having to carry a physical card. Account management is good but the execution of payments is not there.

4. 1/5No digital tap-to-pay option for iOS

   This does an okay job at reloading cards and checking your orca card balance, but how in the world have the app makers not yet integrated tap-to-pay with your iphone, in the year of our lord 2025, when Seattle is a tech hub?? For at least the last decade, other transit systems have already implemented this feature, including in San Diego where the process is seamless. But other than adding android-only google play integration a year ago, there has been no such progress on this app, unless you count a developer response to a review I saw on the App Store that said they expected to have digital card integration “by 2023,” two years ago. There is just no excuse not to have that feature for iOS in this day and age.

5. 3/5Does the bare minimum

   I appreciate that I can instant load my orca card on the app, but I have had trouble doing many other functions. The app logs me out of my account after every use, and does not integrate successfully with any password saving systems, which is a huge barrier to me using it. I realistically never want it to log me out of my account on my phone. Additionally, the auto-reload feature is full of bugs. I’ve tried to work around them by pre-adding payment options, etc, but it won’t let me set up an auto load without a backup payment, and it won’t let me select any backup payment options when I try to do so. Overall, the app is lacking the intuitive and trustworthy user experience required for the functions it provides.
