3/5Rough around the edges
Had some issues at first (the second day I tried to use it, I had to hard reset it because of the “not your device” error) but that hasn’t happened again so I’m still using it. It’s a little fiddly but it’s still handy enough. I’m currently running into 3 issues: 1. The double tap isn’t consistent enough to trust. I usually have to try a few times to make it register and sometimes have to give up and open the app on my phone to do it. That’s a pain because… 2. The app doesn’t consistently reconnect when I start it, no matter how much I shake the device to wake it up. I usually have to force-quit it and start again to make it reconnect. 3. I can’t set anything as billable because once I focus the amount box, I can’t close the numeric keyboard anymore. That means I can’t tap the save button, so everything billable ends up set at $1. If those 3 things were resolved, this would be near perfect for my needs.

5/5Helps with productivity too!
As an account manager in a growing business, I’m wearing multiple hats requiring me to be available for many areas of the business. I needed a way to effectively track where I’m spending most my time so we can put some resources to appropriate areas and expand. After my first full day of using time-flip, which is exceptionally easy to use, I was pleasantly surprised by the effect it had on productivity too! The slight pause when “deciding to flip” to another category would actually inspire me to finish the task I’m currently working first, instead of getting side-tracked for the 50th time of the day. Who knew it could be time-tracking and a productivity tool too!

3/5Needs improvements
I received my Timeflip2 the other day and really excited to use it. The product is good quality however the app needs more work. The Bluetooth setup is spotty at best. I had to use both hands to select the timeflip2 and hit next before it disappeared from the menu. I don’t understand the need for distance scroller since it’s Bluetooth it’s either nearby or it’s not (max range ~33ft on iPhone X). Next is all of the broken UI elements. Most selectors work but anything that has customizable number is blank. You cannot see what value your choosing. I’ve sent feedback to their support email - I hope I hear back in a timely manner. On the positive side you can setup the different tasks and it will track as described so it does meet the MMF (minimum marketable feature) so it delivers on the main feature.

4/5UPDATED: Hard Reset resolved issue
I like it so far, with one caveat. It didn’t take long for the device to become out of sync. I turned off my Bluetooth and WiFi for the night AND my room light. When the device was flashing every 10 seconds in my dark room, I realized I needed to change that setting, but I did so without turning my Bluetooth or WiFi back on. I fiddled with a couple other settings as well. When I realized I needed Bluetooth and WiFi back on to actually make changes, I was no longer able to connect with the device. Performed a hard reset of the device by taking out the batteries. I was able to reconnect at that point. It shouldn’t be this easy to get it out of sync. More Software Quality Assurance should have been done on this app. As a software tester, this is the first kind of test I would have done to ensure the user doesn’t accidentally break the pairing and have to do this kind of annoying reset.

1/5Unbelievably bad experience
If I could give this negative stars I would. -100 STARS. So. I order this in September 2020. I hear nothing for months, and finally after a few emails get customer service saying “soon.” Never got the promised tracking email, but it randomly arrives today! Yay! ...Not. I set everything up as outlined in the guide. The lights flash through all the pretty colors. I open the app to pair it? Nothing. So I go through an hour of changing (brand new and tested) batteries (PS: this device is NOT EASY TO OPEN HAHA NOPE). Installing and uninstalling and reinstalling the app. At least four or five times. Turning everything off and on again. Nothing. The device refuses to wake no matter how many taps or shakes I give it. I’ve already wasted a few hundred dollars’ worth of my time on this. I love the idea so much. I wanted it to work SO BADLY. But it’s garbage. It’s a freaking white plastic paperweight that cycles through pretty colors every time I pry it open and squeeze it shut again. (How bad is your manufacturing when you pre-warn your customers that if it doesn’t cycle through colors, it’s faulty??) How many more hours of my time will I waste trying to get the company to respond? Probably more than I can afford. Oh, and to add insult to injury, it didn’t even come with the supposedly included batteries. FAIL.
