Love this weather app. Works so much better than The Weather Channel’s app. Gives me what I need in a consistent and easy to get to manner. Even the adds are really not in the way. There is one goofy thing… At the top of the startup page that has all the terrific info that I want… They have a nice feature that shows precipitation as an animated graphic behind the display windows (ot looks great!) One little problem… No matter the actual weather in the default location… It always displays light precipitation. Right now the temp is near freezing under clear sky. Yet this graphic animation is displaying light snow. It also has some text to go along with the animations and that’s always light precipitation of the variety to accompany the actual temperature. Goofy and fun… but a fix would be a little helpful.

3/5Ruined a great app with intolerable ads, forecasts now inaccurate
I’ve had this weather app for years and it’s been super accurate. We affectionately called it my voodoo weather app because it was so good! Now, the ads are extremely hard to deal with, and I’m sad to say that the accuracy is gone. No one wants to check their weather app first thing in the morning and wake up to an intrusive pop-up ad that engulfs your entire screen in a bright white light! To top it off, the “X” to close out the screen rapidly moves from one corner to the other, so you effectively get to play a video game the moment you wake up—almost like they’re trying to trick you into clicking on the ad. No one in their right mind would click on one of these invasive, garbage ads. Thanks Weather Network. Next, they added the endless Temu ads for ridiculous t-shirts and “clothing” at “90% off”, modeled by scantily clad individuals. Great job, Weather Network. I get it, they had to rebuild their app after being “hacked”. I’m sure that had nothing with the endlessly-running Chinese ads. But once the app was up and running again, it was never the same. It seems they are guessing and/or copying/pasting multiple hours/days’ forecasts. Too bad, it used to be a solidly reliable app. RIP Weather Network.

5/5Precip inches!!
This is the only app I can currently find that shows the precipitation in inches on the weekly forecast. I find it very useful to be able to look at a 7-14 day forecast and actually know how much it may rain each day. The percent chance of rain means very little to me. Thank you for this feature! It would be nice to have a scrolling feature for the 14 day forecast directly on the main screen instead of having to click and open the 14 day first. Thanks again.

1/5How could forecasting be so wrong??
I have recently moved to canada and everyone here told me that this app is sooooo good, however I have found over the past 3 years of using this app that it cannot even tell me the correct temperature and cloud cover at the current moment, let alone tomorrow’s. i’ve been taking screenshots to confirm that their forecasts are not accurate for 24 hours let alone 5 days. their “radar” loop is a joke. when you play a loop into the future their loop just holds the last radar image and moves it over map in the direction it was last traveling without being affected by microclimates, loss of moisture, terrain and downstream systems like the NOAA radar does. it’s literally the south park animation equivalent of weather.

I work outside, and the Weather Network has always been pretty accurate. I also use Weather Bug and the local news to compare, and it seems like the Weather Network gets the closest. Also, they have a future radar that goes further into the future than others.

While I find that the forecasts are usually pretty accurate, and the layout is easy to use I have an issue with the ads that are used in the app as they definitely appear to be viruses (seeing that they try to get you to click links and buttons with urgency). This is concerning as while I have the ability to discern this there are young people who may wander onto the app on their parents phone or have this app could be taken advantage of.

          "body": "I’ve had this weather app for years and it’s been super accurate. We affectionately called it my voodoo weather app because it was so good! Now, the ads are extremely hard to deal with, and I’m sad to say that the accuracy is gone. No one wants to check their weather app first thing in the morning and wake up to an intrusive pop-up ad that engulfs your entire screen in a bright white light! To top it off, the “X” to close out the screen rapidly moves from one corner to the other, so you effectively get to play a video game the moment you wake up—almost like they’re trying to trick you into clicking on the ad. No one in their right mind would click on one of these invasive, garbage ads. Thanks Weather Network. Next, they added the endless Temu ads for ridiculous t-shirts and “clothing” at “90% off”, modeled by scantily clad individuals. Great job, Weather Network. I get it, they had to rebuild their app after being “hacked”. I’m sure that had nothing with the endlessly-running Chinese ads. But once the app was up and running again, it was never the same. It seems they are guessing and/or copying/pasting multiple hours/days’ forecasts. Too bad, it used to be a solidly reliable app. RIP Weather Network.",

          "body": "This is the only app I can currently find that shows the precipitation in inches on the weekly forecast. I find it very useful to be able to look at a 7-14 day forecast and actually know how much it may rain each day. The percent chance of rain means very little to me. Thank you for this feature! It would be nice to have a scrolling feature for the 14 day forecast directly on the main screen instead of having to click and open the 14 day first. Thanks again.",

          "body": "I have recently moved to canada and everyone here told me that this app is sooooo good, however I have found over the past 3 years of using this app that it cannot even tell me the correct temperature and cloud cover at the current moment, let alone tomorrow’s. i’ve been taking screenshots to confirm that their forecasts are not accurate for 24 hours let alone 5 days. their “radar” loop is a joke. when you play a loop into the future their loop just holds the last radar image and moves it over map in the direction it was last traveling without being affected by microclimates, loss of moisture, terrain and downstream systems like the NOAA radar does. it’s literally the south park animation equivalent of weather.",
