   Surfline is pretty much my most favorite thing on the internet!!!! I have ocean views of whatever beautiful beach I desire to be near from my Living room . Just add a fan for ocean breeze and I keep my ocean wave sound machine on nearby and be transported to any Beautiful beach in the world ! This morning I imagined telling someone that at my new place where I live there is an ocean view of Swami's in Encinitas . They would say "No way !" I would say "Yep ! And I can watch the surfers surf from my living room !!😃" Lol ! Then I would tell them yes through Surfline !! You can make any home oceanview for $8 /month through Surfline !! I feel like I am there tho I am not there and tho I am actually living in mountains currently ! Surfline live videos of beaches around the world is one of the best things on the internet . Period. When you don't have a million dollar house on the beach or ocean view home you can still have an ocean view home by putting Surfline on in a screen in your home !! I love it ! Thank you Surfline ! I got to watch supergirl pro in Oceanside this weekend from my living room while I got dressed to go in person ! It's such an amazing thing to be able to see live stream of beaches around the world! I love being connected to them ! I use to come home after my work on the beach in California & eat dinner and watch the surfers surf into the sunset in Hawaii while I ate pineapples and papaya and mango and pretended I was right there ! 😃

2. 5/5Useful Every Day… Many Times a Day… In Many Ways

   Certainly very helpful for travelers getting oriented on unknown breaks… The data for me helps to dial in local breaks… Sometimes the long range forecasts can be inaccurate so i wouldn’t plan a trip around that info but when you surf one area regularly the near term forecasts are very accurate most of the time… Buoy data is also very helpful once you get figure out what minimum swells, periods, and directions will do for your break… If you have that understanding down… then you will know before the sun comes up exactly what the ocean is doing and can head out predawn with confidence in conditions and the right equipment… I love the rewind option on spots with cams… With dawn patrol app on the apple watch you get videos of all of your rides edited and waiting for you in your sessions section of the app… That feature alone is worth the price of a years subscription in one day as a photographer would cost as much or more for a session and you would have to wait days for the results… The last thing i love about the cams is that you can put on cams from across the globe and enjoy the views on the best waves happening on the planet… The content is also fun to read… it goes on and on… if you surf then the app is a great enhancer to the experience… Amazing app TY!!!

   Over the years, Surfline has maintained its leadership as the number one forecaster in its field. The reason Shaun Collin’s started Surfline in the first place. The continued expansion into the various other aspects of the sport has been welcomed. I’m 78 years old now and although I haven’t surfed in the last 5 yrs, I still go on Surfline every morning to see the reports and weather. You’ve developed the Surfline website into something you can be proud of. Keep up the good work. Another year has gone by since I have written this review. I have been a premium member of Surfline for the majority of Surflines existence, up until the last year. I have to say I thought since I wasn’t actively surfing anymore I would be able to be satisfied with the non-premium subscription to Surfline. I miss the cameras that are not available to non premium members. The inflationary state of our economy has played a huge role in shaping how we spend our income. I hope that in the future I will be able to become a premium member again. Aloha and Mahalo.

4. 1/5Surf check update is a bust

   Once the app updated to this new “surf check” model for free accounts, the app lost is worth for all the free users in Surfline. Before you had unlimited surf checks and could check any surf break you wanted multiple times a day. You could only see a 3 day forecast and couldn’t see premium cams but that was okay. Now you are only given 5 checks per week! But are given a 15 day forecast instead of 3, even though the forecast changes every day. You really need to check for the forecast on the given day you want to see the real forecast. This ruined my experience of the app. I can’t even check the see everyday of the week. I could only check one spot 5 days a week. Completely useless. All surfers know that you have to go “scout” the spots and find the best spot. This app used to be useful for that but now is irrelevant. This update was a huge marketing ploy to get free users to switch to premium by reducing the usefulness of the app to free users trying to coral them into buying the premium version so they could get back the functionality they had before as a free user. Money move by Surfline and not for the people. Give back the functionality for free users to check unlimited spots and remove the whole surf check feature. The app is useless with that feature. I will be using other surf forecasting apps so I can actually check the surf and no be limited to a weekly limit on my “surf checks”

5. 1/5“Surf-lie”

   Let me preface this by saying I used MSW for years before it was bought by Surfline. Now I must be in year 3 of paying for and using Surfline. Not because I want to but because it bought the competition. The New England forecast is consistently wrong. MSW was far superior. It was more accurate and consistently accurate. I miss so many days now because I check Surfline before I go to before work. Surf looks bad so I don’t plan on anything. A couple hrs later they change the forecast, because it was wrong less than 24hr ago, and now surf is good. I could plan 3 or more days out on an MSW forecast, take off work and it was accurate 85 to 90% of the time. You guys can keep all your forecasting modeling info, wave energy, all these other features you offer. Just give me an accurate forecast 2-3 days out. Can someone figure out how to use the MSW algorithm for new Surfline New England?? Now I’m paying for an App that is less accurate than the free 5 day forecast it replaced. What’s the use of a 16 day forecast if you can get it right 12 hr ahead of time…. Half the time what I see on the cameras is completely contrasting with the forecast. Forecast says the waves are poor but it’s offshore and Fishable on the cameras. I can’t begin to tell you how frustrating it is. Oh and I’ve tried to leave feedback within the app but that hasn’t worked in 3 years either. Just says “message failed to send, tap to retry…”
