5/5Such a great tool!
I love this app! It's simple, straightforward, and focused in its purpose. Elegant. I use it somewhat frequently to figure out when sunrise/sunset is in different places, and in the Before Times, I frequently used it before boarding Southwest Airlines flights to figure out where the sun would be relative to our flight path and help me decide which side of the plane to sit on. Sometimes it's nice to have shade for reading/napping, and other times it's fun to see the sunrise/sunset. :D This app deserves far more attention than it gets!

5/5Highly underrated solar app. Absolute jewel.
This app is very useful and is actively being developed. I’d like to see features such as azimuth and angle of the sun, azimuth and angle of the pole star, in relation to your current location or the choice to choose a time, date location, etc. It would be awesome to be able to include a solar clock / sundial design calc. Twilight times would be helpful. To the extreme, a solar / lunar app that included info and calculators for designing instruments would be absolutely worth paying for, like analemma, dials, transits and other instruments of yore.

5/5Excellent app
I love the simplicity of this app; as someone who enjoys sunrises and sunsets, I often just want to know what time and in what direction I will find the sun. There are lots of apps that offer much more information, but that gets in the way of what I usually need. I've been using this app for many years, and it's always been stable and easy to use.

4/5Really Nice
I’ve just downloaded this app and it seems to have exactly what I’ve been looking for. You can see where and when the sun is duration of sunshine and temperature. Combine this with no information being collected and I think I’m going to really like this. I will be updating this review in about a month or so. If I may suggest some additional display could the developer include azimuth and information on the moon. Good job.

5/5Well designed solar app
Thank you for taking the time to create and maintain this app. I’ve been using this for several years now and have gained a much better understanding of the sun’s path throughout the day and year. Initially, I used it to plan where to sit at a baseball stadium 😎. Now, I use it for a number of outdoor activities, particularly hunting and camping

Summer is coming. And days become precious in many ways now. Here's an update to make you track the sun with more details. Compass look got tiny details drawn accurately. Settings amount is growing, and they got their own page. It will help to fine-tune the app better for our needs. Added option to remember last map location (when switched off, the app always starts at your current location). Thank you for the feedback – it helps! Enjoy the Sun, and take care!

Please, enjoy the bug free version! Thank you for the feedback – it helps! Enjoy the Sun, and take care!

Summer is getting closer. Nights are getting warmer (unless you're in Australia :) Time to get night mode play well. And this update is all about picking all those nitty details of darkness. Improved representation of the golden hour time, especially around planet poles. Also, fine-tuned details and compatibility for older os versions. No gigantic icons this time. Thanks a lot for your feedback! Enjoy the sun!

Winter is coming. Going through the dark times, it's always good to know where's the light. This update has the invisible changes, but brings a bit more light. The battery consumption is reduced (although it was ok, but still!). The application size has shrunken, and the only visual update is the most important one – the app icon is updated! Also, refined UI integration with dark and light themes, improved location permission detection, and a bunch of other invisible nerdy things. Hope you'll like it! Follow the light, keep the path, and don't forget to take your camera with you!

Summer is coming! To get ready I've prepared a nice update for you: a daylight time display (yeah, you can see how many sunny hours in any day of the calendar), maps got also hybrid mode – so you can see city names while browsing satellite map. App got improvements in rendering accuracy, and all this timezone melt (yeah, I've discovered some problems in the future, and fixed them now /nerd smile/). Details refined. Enjoy the sun! And don't forget your mask and the camera :)

Here we go! SunCalc becomes better yet staying simple. Try out saving bookmarks and quickly returning to the favorite locations, a bits of additional details like Day Duration or Golden Hour. And yeah, weather indication supports few days ahead (shows the noon weather in forecast now). App should work fast on either device supported (I believe it’s still used on iPhone 4s!) and also can provide you with necessary information even without internet connection — compass and sun times are always available! Yeah, and for favorite locations as well. Of course it comes with code revised, and every rare crash analyzed and addressed. I’m proud to say — it is very stable now, and I can focus more on the hard UX problems :) Enjoy the Sun, and stay Safe!

Hi! Winter is coming! As well, as many awesome stuff with the OS updates. This release is a dust-off, and ensure app stable and will keep shining on all the new devices. There's also a nice fix minor issues with the weather (yeah, more sunny days!) and make it a bit more reliable.

Winter is around the corner. We got updates. This one makes sure the app runs well, and steady. Also, it starts a little bit faster, and map scrolling is a little bit smoother.

Winter is coming! Therefore, we go prepared. Improved app stability, and accessibility. Compass details refined. It is easier to read out compass or using thing in gloves with text size bumped up. This release is a convergence point for SunCalc, as it will have to grow – therefore, right now is polishing and long-shot phase to support people who's using iOS below 15. Therefore, everyone till iOS10 will get those updates – super stable, nice looking, and forward looking! Hugs to all! Enjoy the Sun!

We all hope the darkest hour is behind. Summer is coming, and we have to plan our time accordingly. This is incremental update to dust-off the app, and make it basically compatible with the new cool gadget – the Vision. Let the light win!

Winter is coming! It's time to make sure you have a place to soak up as much sunlight as possible (if you're in the Northern Hemisphere, of course!). The app icon won't spoil your fancy setup—it will shine!

Dust off! App updated to support Liquid Glass on the latest devices, delivering a more fluid experience. Older devices are still fully supported – everyone has a right to get a bit of sunlight!

Winter is here :) Frozen letters came into my mailbox. And I've got a goose skin. There was one more crash. Terrible shit. Cleaned. But actual reason is an optimisation of compass drawing - few layers of pie where gently reshuffled in order to make picture softer and more accurate at the same time. Enjoy. And don't forget your good mood at home. Happy sun gazing!

Wow! Spring is here! And Spring is a little bit... surprising. Therefore, I've added simple weather preview, so, when you close enough to the area of interest - you will be able to see some weather hints. For today you'll get current weather, and for few days ahead - forecast fixed at noon time. As usually, item available worldwide. So, checking is it sunny tomorrow in Honolulu - peace of cake. Have fun!

Weather landed on maps pretty well =^^= There's a chance now to use your favorite measurements for temperature - ℃/℉. To get into there - just go to the app settings in the iPhone settings. It is also a place for allowing app to use location services (just in case :)) Some nasty bugs were addressed as well (gosh, who made them?) And yes, this is a day! Get ur camera ready, get ur mood high and find the best spot to enjoy the planet. Someone tells this is the only planet with beer (what do they mean by that?) Cheers!

Winter is coming! One day... Mr. Snow, one day... So, it's a threshold period of transitioning the app into the new amazing world of the updates coming later this fall. For those of you who enjoy vintage - this release is meant to be the last supporting iOS7 and iOS8. And I'd like share with this release – a little bit of love. So, we're getting favorites. You can have up to 22 favorite places on this planet :) Hope you'll enjoy storing your favs. FYI - favorites are stored only locally, in the app data. They are yours, private :) There's also one thing I'd like to share – it's a timezone warp. The app was built to show what's going around you - even if there's no connection. In that case - you might see no map, but the compass stays alive. And a built-in, specially optimised database, knows a lot about time zones, so, it the most of the cases - you will get a proper local time for the Sun path. Unfortunately, there are places on the planet, where time flows in different rules, and I'm working on the new version of the database using blockchain technology (no, joke) - to overcome this issues and to be always polite and precise. Have a nice time out, take your camera, your smile, goodwill, and a compass. Cheers

Spring is coming. Everything is tempting to get a fresh start... And version 1.9 of the tool is kinda critical. On one hand, it's still a legacy look, and features. On the other hand, there's progress to utilize modern devices with their power - better location, compass tracking. Also, this release is iOS 9 and above. Also, The next release might get iOS 10 as a bottom line (because, luckily, we're all now the latest and safest software, and it's goooood) So, what's new: - search remembers some of your last attempts, so, it's easier to come back to the address you've just typed in - new maps with new "features" bring a problem to some users - a small compass and a scale might become not visible (the issue is addressed, but may take some time to fix) - weather improved (huh, not at the God level though...) - centring on your current location works better - compass icon for iOS11 is replaced by custom (during map rotation) - knowing where's the sun may make you happier at the random moment - tiny fixes to the tiny issues Let's play a bit with version 1.9 to see what we really would like to get for the next updates (and yes, I'm reading your suggestions and mega thankful for all the feedback! Please, do it when you have a moment - it helps!) As usual, don't forget your camera when going out, and for this spring, maybe along with sunglasses, keep a pair of snow-glasses as well. And a thermos of tea, coffee, or wine - can be very handy! All the best, enjoy the sunny days!

Update 1.9.1 compliments 1.9: adds fixes to the compass appearance, application stability, and timezone accuracy. Version 1.9 update: Spring is coming. Everything is tempting to get a fresh start... A small but important update: improves timezone crossing accuracy, reduces occasional crash while playing with the compass on the map - if you got one, consider it's a luck! ))) Makes things better in one or other way. Oh, and search thing behaves a bit better, trying harder instead of being lazy ) Enjoy the springtime! Wear sunscreen, don't forget ur camera, and a smile, while jumping out for another adventure.

Summer is coming! App gets a slight set of UI updates and keeps its track on the Sun as usual. And yeah! Thank you a lot for the feedback! It helps to drive decisions, and most important - it gives the inspiration to continue. As usual, don't forget ur camera at home, as well as an artistic mood and a smile. Happy sun spotting!

Autumn is here. New colours, new angles. This update is built to make app faster, and more stable. New built-in timezones database is smaller, but more powerful. And also, I had few reports about incorrect time display – it's fixed now. Enjoy the sun every day and moment, and don't forget your good mood and a camera when leaving home!
