  1. 4/5Helpful, necessary, necessary, extremely necessary

Listen, these are our children. I want to know where they are every millisecond of the day. This app allows us to follow where the bus takes them when they leave us in the morning and where it drops them off… And wear the bus picks them up at school and drops them back off to us. The only real way to keep them out of harms way and to keep an eye on them is to put an AirTag on their person to watch them., But for our sanity, this app is extremely helpful and seems to be getting improved on a weekly basis. Therefore, I want to say thank you the little note they could give us a.m. and p.m. schedules. If possible for alerts.

  2. 2/5Nice idea, but inconsistent

Our district is using this app for the first time this school year (24-25) On paper, it is a fantastic idea especially for bus routes that consistently run late or have substitute bus drivers. However, in use the app is too inconsistent or glitchy. I set up a GeoAlert to let me know when the bus was entering our neighborhood, but the notifications don’t always come in. The attendance alerts are also inconsistent, sometimes alerting me that my kids are getting on the bus when they’re sitting in front of me. I suppose I’m lucky to even get any notifications; I’ve tried to help fellow parents in our district get their notifications and GeoAlerts to work and nothing seems to help. I’ve contacted our district about the issues, and they are unresponsive. The app is not intuitive. Tutorials are ok, but there just seems to be something missing. When my district asks for parent feedback about the system, I won’t be able to recommend Stopfinder.

  3. 3/5When it works. It’s great

When the app is being used as intended, it is great. Unfortunately, for whatever reason in my personal experience, the bus is almost always NOT indicated in the app/map. Especially in the mornings. In such situations, where the bus is invisible on the app, it renders the app effectively useless. For whatever reason, I also do not have the option to communicate any information from my side to transportation. I have found in my own experience, that the days when I most would like the benefits of using the app most are when something is going wrong. Like the bus is late. Those times are often most likely times that the app isn’t working properly. I think I saw.

  4. 1/5Terrible interface and product

The Stopfinder app is clunky, unintuitive, and now the app has further distanced itself from accountability by removing bus routes and stops from the map. There is no use for seeing the bus moving around a giant map without context. When the app worked, which wasn’t a given, at least you can see that it was approaching the stop before yours and use that as the signal to leave the house. Further, there are no controls for what kind of notifications the app sends— why would I want notifications for busses that my kid doesn’t ride! Geoalerts for dense suburban areas are useless— it doesn’t matter if the bus is only a mile away when there are 15 stops (and thus 30 minutes) between the bus and our stop! Good on Stopfinder, though, for continuing to receive a contract with our County school system. Admirable grift.

  5. 3/5Great WHEN it works!

This thing is sooo helpful when it works. Knowing how late my kids buses are running so they aren’t standing at the bus stop unnecessarily early. Also, I have to be present at my Kindergartener’s stop for them to let him off the bus. Being able to continue working until the bus is close is great. 2 weeks into school at this point, and only issue is that the app decides to not work about 15% of the time. Gives a blank white screen, or it opens and just endlessly says “loading schedules.” Absolutely an incredibly helpful app when it works, I just wish it had far less downtime.
