5/5Delivery Charging System
You know how when you purchase several items online and they charge you? And then one of the items they send is the wrong item, or it arrives damaged, or it ends up being out of stock so they issue you a refund in the amount of that one item? Reasonable right? Yeah that’s not how Peapod works. So my guy was sick, and he usually takes me grocery shopping, so I decided to do peapod so we could stay home and he could rest. I made my selections, got a delivery time, and paid. Total charge $115 and change. Cool, cool, cool. Well a few items were out of stock and one arrived damaged so I reach out about a refund and check on my final bill, $77 even. Cool, cool, cool. Then I want to make a purchase, but it’s a significant amount and I think, we’ll after bills this week I have a little over $200 left, so this should be fine but let’s check in on the account to be sure. Ummmmm that doesn’t seem right, I barely have $100 in my account. I start looking at charges. Instead of keeping the original $115 and change, and issuing me a refund for $39 and change, Peapod kept the original charge and then charged me again for the new lower actual cost of my groceries. So now they have $193 and change of my money, and I have $77 worth of groceries. So I call, oh no worries the first charge will be refunded in 3-5 business days. Excuse me?!?! You just stole $115+ from me but it’s okay because I’ll get it back in 3-5 business days?!? How is that logical or legal!?!?!?

5/5A kind heart.
I wish I would of known the name of this amazing man I had like a dummy used the scratch ticket machine and I put my last $20 in it and I was getting my grandmother 2 $2 tickets and I didn’t see it said you can’t get change and the rest was going towards the groceries that I really needed and I was like omg what do I do so I ask the staff and the guy said we can’t do anything you have to buy scratch tickets with the money on it and I was literally in tears and I felt so stupid I said I really need this money I have to figure this out. He went and got a man who was in charge and I told him what happened and he said the same thing and again I was still trying to not look like a idiot and cry but it was my last money and he walked away and came back gave me the money and said get the scratch tickets and I said you don’t want them and he said no Merry Christmas and I was so overwhelmed I didn’t even get to say truly how grateful I was that this man did this and it was his own money out of his pocket. I never seen him again unfortunately and I promised if I won big I would come and give him a big amount lol I wish it went different I wish I didn’t break down but it was around Christmas I was broke after giving everyone what they wanted and I was barley scraping by.. And besides this the staff is very nice and the store is clean. Sorry for long story but I needed to let everyone know. 😁

5/5The app is great but…I
The stop & shop app is very good and easy to use. There are 2 big problems though and they are very frustrating! #1 I NEVER get my full order, the store is always out of items and I am handicapped and so is my husband so we have to depend on our son to pick our groceries up and quite a few times he has gone back to the store on the same day that he would pick up my groceries he would go back to the store and go inside the store to pick up a few things for himself and he would just check to see if my out of stock items were in the store and they were. I think the online people that fill the orders need to be retrained on how to take their time to correctly and completely put orders together. #2 I feel that you should not hold on to customers money of the total order that was put in until the order has been completely filled. The money you take should be the amount of the the bill excluding the out of stock items cause it gets confusing and customers have to remember to check 3 to 4 days later with their bank to make sure the money pending is removed from the customer’s account. It would be easier for the customer if you just wait until the order has been completely put together and ready to go. I appreciate your online pick up because it is very convienient and your employees in that department are always polite, respectful & very helpful especially Luke and the manager John and actually all of them are great! I do hope you work on the issues I mentioned and correct them. Otherwise the store is good. Thank you for your time.

2/5Crashes every 10 min, incomplete inventory, no comments available
The app is convenient to some degree--I'm glad it exists--but the crashing situation is very bad. It crashes literally every 10 minutes or so. I know I can't spend too long browsing an aisle, because if I've gone several pages in and it crashes, I have to start over and go through all the pages again. Very frustrating. None of my other apps do this--it's just a Stop & Shop app issue. Other items that need improvement: --the inventory is super incomplete. There are cuts of meat and varieties of food totally unavailable, and I know I'll have to go in store myself to get them despite having the rest of the order picked for me, which basically defeats the purpose --there needs to be a way to add custom comments to items. It would help with the inventory issue too. If I want a cut of pork that's similar to something listed but not the same, I could note it. ALSO, there are some pickers at the store who are either new/unknowledgeable or...lazy. They just plain don't know where items are or don't look very hard. It happens all the time--I select something that is definitely in stock but they mark it as out of stock and offer a replacement that doesn't make sense. 9 times out of 10 I've run into the store after my order is delivered to the car and found the items--which were very well stocked--myself. If I could comment I could just leave a note about where the item is if I know that they always have a hard time finding it.

1/5They made it useless...
...unless you’re trying to place an online order. You can’t create a shopping *list* anymore, only a shopping *cart*. I don’t want to do that. I’ve been seriously burned by their online service twice now (They overcharged me on a number of items and also sent multiple spoiled products!). I used to make lists for meal planning using the in-app shopping list to double check that I hadn’t forgotten anything. But now I can only add specific items to my cart, which is useless. They’re trying to distract from this dark patterns “it’s easier to buy from us” nonsense (if you don’t know what “dark patterns” means, you should definitely look it up) and horrible, functionally unchangable invasions of privacy (they’re tracking *everything* you do and while they claim we have a choice, it’s incredibly complicated to opt out of dozens of individual trackers and that has almost no effect anyway) by introducing a new “rewards” program. I’m not fooled. I’m uninstalling the app after using it multiple times a week for over five years and will be doing any shopping possible at other stores. Bring back the actual shopping list and make a single, obvious, and meaningful opt-out of ALL tracking (or better yet, make it opt-IN!) and you’ll get my business back. Update added to the irrelevant developer auto-reply: I DID CONTACT YOU. You waited two weeks before sending me anything, and it was also an auto reply that ignored most of my message - including the overcharge. Refund my money and get lost!
