Square has helped me grow my business from the ground up! This company is amazing! It really has helped me take everything to the next level! So excited about this app! It’s going to make things even better! Btw... you may have a wait time when calling in for help but when you get in they bend over backwards to help you! Thank you square!!! I also want to thank you for helping keeping my business alive during covid! I really don’t think I would be here if it wasn’t for you! Square is 5 stars all the way!!

1/5Do Not Inquire About Selling CBD
I requested an inquiry to sell CBD via Square. After reading their rates and looking at the information they were requesting, I changed my mind. Their so called “application for selling CBD” isn’t something you can choose to not to fill out. Square SUSPENDS your account and flags it as suspicious activity if you don’t completely submit the information on their application. The Support Team will not give you the right information. It took me 4 calls before I could speak to a supervisor. I was put on hold for over an hour to wait for said supervisor. Meanwhile Square Compliance kept sending me no-reply emails without sufficient navigation information stating time periods where they would complete this “review” in 24-48 hours in one email and 1-2 business days in another email. I don’t know about your business but my business is open on weekends and most holidays. By the end of this experience I learned that by just inquiring about the selling CBD via square that someone on their end designated my account as a CBD seller and that I had to then go to the Pricing and Subscriptions section to exit the program. Why isn’t there an opt-in toggle where the “application to sell CBD” is located. If you are planning to sell CBD products please review every other option before choosing square. The service and support I received was horrible plus the rates they are offering for CBD products are high. Don’t bring your CBD business here. They treat you like you’re doing criminal activity for just inquiring.

DO NOT USE SQUARE!!! They have zero focus on merchants issues with using their software, apps, and products. They 100% focus on how to TAKE more of your money. The new update in December, THE BUSIEST time of year, switched my retail wine shop into their restaurant mode. Every sale was an order waiting to be settled with NO option to settle. I had to wait 36 hours for “orders” to settle. No items came out of inventory until 36 hours later. No way of knowing what was in stock or wasn’t. Web orders were a nightmare. Tech support was tremendously stupid! I told them it’s acting like a restaurant. Ignored me. The first call in they said it’s because of the time difference, I’m in California. The second call they said “your orders are splitteted”. WHAT?!? 28 days later they said “it looks like you’re set up as a restaurant”. I told them that 28 days prior. All they could do was change the settlement time to 1.5 hours after I close. And…tech support is through email and they make you jump through hoops sending screen shots, and videos that they can’t access because they’re not allowed to view them but asked for them.

3/5OK, With Voiceover Annoyances
I use Retail for iPad with voiceover active. Square works well enough for me to run my store, but it has some problems, and those combined with Square's not so great accessibility policy irritate me greatly. Elements formatted as lists won't read aloud with voiceover. A good example of where to find some of these are on the pages listing hardware for sale. Items with multiple options aren't sellable with voiceover, if items are sold manually rather than scanned at the register. The screen to select which option to sell won't come up at all. Square's policy on accessibility bugs wastes hours of time, each time a new issue comes up. They will not look into it until the app user, in this case myself, contacts Apple and has them confirm that the problem isn't an issue with the screen reader itself. They require a chat transcript and ticket number in order to consider looking into accessibility bugs within their apps.

1/5Nonexistent customer service
Skim my transactions, block vendor/supplier payments because they are sure why and can’t fix it. Damage my business credit. Damage supplier relationship. Destroy sections of customer base through unfulfilled orders they blocked for no reason. They don’t know why they don’t care they can’t fix it and they won’t even try. Paid for 18 months for a website that didn’t work then I lost my wallet one day. My SQUARE DEBIT card was in it. The one I have automatic payments TO SQUARE coming from. Notified SQUARE that I need a new debit card. They allegedly send me a new one and issue a digital form. A couple days go by and they run the old card TWO DAYS before payment is due and shockingly it doesn’t go through. So, since SQUARE couldn’t charge me early for SQUARE on my SQUARE card that SQUARE cancelled and SQUARE reissued - they shut my system down at 2 in the afternoon with no communication whatsoever. Steer clear. I’m getting my inventory straightened up and bouncing the second I get a clean export.

          "body": "I requested an inquiry to sell CBD via Square. After reading their rates and looking at the information they were requesting, I changed my mind. Their so called “application for selling CBD” isn’t something you can choose to not to fill out. Square SUSPENDS your account and flags it as suspicious activity if you don’t completely submit the information on their application. The Support Team will not give you the right information. It took me 4 calls before I could speak to a supervisor. I was put on hold for over an hour to wait for said supervisor. Meanwhile Square Compliance kept sending me no-reply emails without sufficient navigation information stating time periods where they would complete this “review” in 24-48 hours in one email and 1-2 business days in another email. I don’t know about your business but my business is open on weekends and most holidays. By the end of this experience I learned that by just inquiring about the selling CBD via square that someone on their end designated my account as a CBD seller and that I had to then go to the Pricing and Subscriptions section to exit the program. Why isn’t there an opt-in toggle where the “application to sell CBD” is located. If you are planning to sell CBD products please review every other option before choosing square. The service and support I received was horrible plus the rates they are offering for CBD products are high. Don’t bring your CBD business here. They treat you like you’re doing criminal activity for just inquiring.",

          "body": "DO NOT USE SQUARE!!! They have zero focus on merchants issues with using their software, apps, and products. They 100% focus on how to TAKE more of your money. The new update in December, THE BUSIEST time of year, switched my retail wine shop into their restaurant mode. Every sale was an order waiting to be settled with NO option to settle. I had to wait 36 hours for “orders” to settle. No items came out of inventory until 36 hours later. No way of knowing what was in stock or wasn’t. Web orders were a nightmare. Tech support was tremendously stupid! I told them it’s acting like a restaurant. Ignored me. The first call in they said it’s because of the time difference, I’m in California. The second call they said “your orders are splitteted”. WHAT?!? 28 days later they said “it looks like you’re set up as a restaurant”. I told them that 28 days prior. All they could do was change the settlement time to 1.5 hours after I close. And…tech support is through email and they make you jump through hoops sending screen shots, and videos that they can’t access because they’re not allowed to view them but asked for them.",

          "title": "OK, With Voiceover Annoyances",
          "body": "I use Retail for iPad with voiceover active. Square works well enough for me to run my store, but it has some problems, and those combined with Square's not so great accessibility policy irritate me greatly. Elements formatted as lists won't read aloud with voiceover. A good example of where to find some of these are on the pages listing hardware for sale. Items with multiple options aren't sellable with voiceover, if items are sold manually rather than scanned at the register. The screen to select which option to sell won't come up at all. Square's policy on accessibility bugs wastes hours of time, each time a new issue comes up. They will not look into it until the app user, in this case myself, contacts Apple and has them confirm that the problem isn't an issue with the screen reader itself. They require a chat transcript and ticket number in order to consider looking into accessibility bugs within their apps.",

          "body": "Skim my transactions, block vendor/supplier payments because they are sure why and can’t fix it. Damage my business credit. Damage supplier relationship. Destroy sections of customer base through unfulfilled orders they blocked for no reason. They don’t know why they don’t care they can’t fix it and they won’t even try. Paid for 18 months for a website that didn’t work then I lost my wallet one day. My SQUARE DEBIT card was in it. The one I have automatic payments TO SQUARE coming from. Notified SQUARE that I need a new debit card. They allegedly send me a new one and issue a digital form. A couple days go by and they run the old card TWO DAYS before payment is due and shockingly it doesn’t go through. So, since SQUARE couldn’t charge me early for SQUARE on my SQUARE card that SQUARE cancelled and SQUARE reissued - they shut my system down at 2 in the afternoon with no communication whatsoever. Steer clear. I’m getting my inventory straightened up and bouncing the second I get a clean export.",
