1. 1/5HORRIBLE BANK AND WORKERS!!!!

   I had gotten this account to see if it was worth the hype people were telling me about, and needless to say ITS NOT!!!! I had money stolen from me twice through this bank app and the first time was fine they fixed the issue and the person never got my money, the second time however the person sent mine to their cashapp. I spoke with customer service to resolve my issue I told them that I had never authorized those transfers and that I didn’t not approve them nor did I know the person they were sent to. They opened a claim for me and then I receive and email from then telling me that my claim has been closed and that they will not get my money back. I called them and explained to them that they were legally obligated to get my money back, and they told me they “understood”, yeah right if you truly understood you would have sat there and figured out a way to help me instead of saying it’s out of your control. The people I spoke to had attitude and we’re extremely dismissive. I lost a whole paycheck because of them and I hope they enjoy hearing from my lawyer!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS HORRIBLE I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!

2. 1/5Terrible bank app doesn't work properly.

   So I went out of town for a business trip my spruce card never came in the mail. But had the digital boy was I wrong. My card was stolen and used the person literally used majority of my money when I got back in town I called spruce and filed a dispute. This company took me around the ringer. I filed a police report and even showed proof I wasn't here. Yet they kept denying my dispute. Reached out to the cfpb hr block rejected that claim. Hit up the ceo of hr block to make something happen nothing. Finally got an executive so they claim and provided the documentation they requested still got back an email strong denial now I have to go to the irs and claim fraud on my tax return. This has all been a headache. I got several different screenshots of them giving me the runaround for two whole months I documented everything. Plus emails. Looks like this may turn in a civil suit. They played me and cause me so much stress it's ridiculous. Mind you I was told to jump through hoops for them to laugh behind my back. Single mother raising her kids and every dime counts. But they would know about that unless they were in my shoes. Over 60 pictures of the chat messages and each one was different answers and lie after life. Stay away from them and hr block if you like you health, dignity and money. This company is a sad joke and needs to be put out of business the app still hasn't updated at all. Stay away!!!! This company has your PIN number and everything. They are the ones who probably stole my money. Never will I recommend hr block they better look out for that lawsuit it's bound to happen soon. Done with the games and jumping through hoops this company is trash and hr block is trash for using them. Sending all my people to turbo tax never would have happened with their accounts

   DO NOT BANK WITH SPRUCE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES !!! I was mislead by 4 agents and lied to and then for a supervisor to finally just trying to get me off the phone still didn’t put my money back into my account that were returned back to my card and have been pending for the past 3 days and I was told the first time the app needs to update because we’re not seeing the pending charges and your money will be back into your account after that happens… now today I was told oh those transactions that are still pending have been returned already and then out of nowhere as I speaking to someone 3 new pending charges showing returned popped up out of nowhere when i asked they said oh there was a delay that just fixed but you need to look at the differences you already receive that money back umm what ? Then to speak to a supervisor who was very condescending say he can’t do anything because I already received those funds… like no I’ve check my account every day screenshotted documented everything!! Try again to now oh you have to wait longer because the dispute he said he could file he cannot so what am I waiting on just fraudulent RUN DONT WALK AWAY FROM this dysfunctional so called banking service

   So I’m a big fan of online fintech style banks and their mobile apps and wanted to try this account out and use it as a side bank…. BIG MISTAKE !!! I downloaded the app and applied for account. Afterwards, their mobile app makes you put in your phone number and/or email address EVERY TIME you sign in to the app !!! This means their mobile app does NOT sync with your phone or know who you are !!! This is a HUGE security risk and the first red flag !! Once you’re in the mobile app, if you try clicking on “security notifications” to choose how you’d like your security set up, it doesn’t do anything ? It does nothing !! It’s like it’s disabled ?? 2nd red flag !! It gets worse from there….. I called their toll free number to close down my account since there’s NO WAY I’m going to trust this company or banking app with my info, let alone my money, and SURPRISE !! I get a call center in a foreign country….. Philippines !! Umm…. how about NO !! And the lady I spoke with, didn’t even have the ability to close down my account ?!?! Seriously ?? Is this a joke ?? She told me she would have to submit a request to their “back office” to close my account and that basically I MIGHT get an email confirming closure, whenever they get around to it ?? DO NOT TRUST YOUR INFO, MONEY, OR PAYCHECK TO THIS COMPANY !!! You’ve been warned !!

5. 5/5Great app, Recommended for direct deposits.

   I recently signed up for the spruce account because I file my taxes with H&R Block every single year. I decided “why not” and filed my taxes to get my direct deposit into my new spruce account. I was a little nervous because it’s a new platform but I wanted to find a faster way to get my tax refund. Signing up for Spruce was easy, learning my way around the app was quite easy as well. My only real complaint is there isn’t a specific section to see my “pending deposits” they kind of just show up (unless I haven’t found where to see that information yet). The best part is my tax return wasn’t suppose to be direct deposited until 02/22, however it came EARLY!! Which is great because one of the benefits is direct deposits up 2 days early and I got it even sooner than that! I’d recommend spruce to my friends and family who want to get ahead of their finances, have early direct deposits, etc;.
