  1. 5/5Love the split play

I started using the app for its split pay feature and it’s been so helpful not having to pay such large amounts every top of the month. I get paid every two weeks, and with the split pay feature its really convenient to make two rent payments instead of one. My landlord does not mind it because he just gets the money in full and on time and I can breathe a little bit so its a win win. Also since I started using rent app my credit score has seen a nice bump so thats good to have too. I have a roommate and I wish they had some tools around that because they have to pay me the rent now but it would be easier if we can just split it. But otherwise I like it

  2. 5/5Rent App

I’ve been using Rent App for a while now, and I’m really impressed! The user interface is clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate, making it a pleasure to use every day. The features are exactly what I needed and work flawlessly. What stands out the most is the splitting rent payments. It’s really helped me since I get paid every 2 weeks. Plus, the app runs smoothly without any lag or crashes, which is always a huge plus. Customer support is also top-notch—they responded quickly and resolved my issue efficiently. If you're looking for an app that changing your payment date this is definitely the one to go for. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking…Keep up the good work!!!

  3. 1/5Beyond Horrible

I’ve been using the Flex rent app for the majority of my lease and never had a problem. I decided to try this app because they recently got introduced the split and pay feature using the rent portal and I am able to split my rent with the Rent App evenly, unlike with Flex where they only fronted me $500. I followed their instructions and set up my rent to be paid. It was easy as 1-2-3. After the rent was paid and the money was withdrawn from my account, I received a email stating that my payment was unsuccessful due to insufficient funds for the entire amount of the rent. I called support and emailed them a screenshot of the payment that was withdrawn and told I would hear from them later that day. They sent me an email 8:30pm (after business hours) stating that they had to refund my payment because their system had started a ACH return to the rent portal. They did state that they would pay for any late and returned fees as a good gesture, which was fine with me. I rescheduled the payment and they waited until late afternoon to attempt withdrawing the payment and it was denied due to insufficient funds. I asked if they would make another attempt the next day and they said they would, but I would have to reschedule the payment because their system would have already started an ACH return. Apparently they launched this new system with the rent portal the week of April 21 or 28, so everybody who used this system for the month of May including me had some bad experience and was basically using us as the Guinea pigs to work out the kinks in their system. While they were using us as Guinea pigs, they were also ruining our credibility with our leasing agents. All in all, I will not be using this company again and would highly recommend to stay away from them. I may pay more with flex but at least I know I won’t have issues paying my rent with them.

  4. 1/5Support gave inadequate and confusing information

My account was suspended after being told that I was approved for the October rent. The app would only let me send a direct payment to my property. However, it is a corporation not a landlord. Express concern to the chat and email about the issue and was given 2 separate reasons why it was happening. I’d expressed in the chat after requesting to speak a higher up that my property uses a rental portal and not a private landlord. I’ve explained that my property manager doesn’t have access to the property account number, nor does the accounting department as it’s a corporation. I’ve explained that I’m not getting the option to sign up for the portal payment. The Rep tells me that I need to use the email address that I signed up with. I tell them that I don’t have access to the email address anymore so I used a different email to sign up with. I’m sent to compliance and now my account is suspended with no resolution.

  5. 1/5Deceptive Collections Practices

This company will threaten you with pressure language to try and collect unpaid balances. They use ACH to debit your rent to the landlord, and then if you are late a few days on the second payment several weeks after the ACH transaction has processed they threaten you with "rent reversal". They cannot reverse an ACH transaction multiple weeks after it has been processed from your landlord's account, and are using this deceptive language specifically to frighten their own customers into payment. The customer is liable for collections action in the event of nonpayment, not the landlord who they debited funds to, and I find it hard to believe any bank would allow an unauthorized debit of funds back to Rent App just because Rent App is asking for the money back after the ACH transaction has been successfully processed and is outside the 5 day window. If they were a collections agency they could be sued for this. I wouldn't do business with these people if I were you.
