Add a server with username + password and your books appear in Spine. Progress and bookmarks sync both ways so you can listen on the web and pick up here. - Local files, from any folder. Point at a folder on your iPhone or in iCloud Drive. Spine handles single-file books, file-per-chapter books, and Author/Book/files nesting. Files renamed in Files keep their bookmarks and progress. - Available Offline and Saved for Later. A new section pulls every downloadable book to the top when you're heading out, and long-press any cover to park it for later, pressing play un-saves it automatically. - The time readout, redesigned. Tap the number next to the scrubber to cycle through chapter remaining, book remaining, percent, and the wall-clock time you'll finish at. Long-press for a picker with a speed-adjust toggle. - Smaller things, in the right places. Library is collapsible and shows item counts. Chapters sheet lands on the current chapter. The Library tab grows up, and Spine reaches well beyond it. Multi select in the Library - Tap Select to enter selection mode, then batch act on covers in one tap: mark finished, save for later, download, reset progress, or remove from Torbox. Sort and group, separated - Two independent menus. Sort by (Date Added, Title, Duration) and Group by (None, Author, Series). Mix and match however you like. Group by Series and Author - Series view shows the books you don't own yet as faded ghost tiles. Tap one to find it in Discover. Author view shelves every author with two or more books. Built for large libraries - The Library now stays fast and smooth with thousands of books, painting progressively as your collection loads instead of blocking. Audiobookshelf over plain HTTP - Connect to self hosted servers on Tailscale, LAN, or any private network. No public TLS certificate required. Live progress sync to Hardcover - Spine now pushes your exact listening position to Hardcover, matched to the right audiobook edition. Automatic whenever Hardcover is connected. A bedtime grade sleep timer - Shake to reset or extend with the screen locked, a configurable fade out, an auto sleep window for your wind down hours, and an optional Extend or Reset prompt when time runs out. Resizable skip buttons - Choose how far skip forward and skip back jump, across the full player, mini player, Lock Screen, CarPlay, and AirPods. Listening stats that follow you - Your Activity, including listening time, streaks, books finished, and time saved, now syncs through iCloud, surviving reinstalls and showing up on every device. Plus: one tap recovery of expired titles, confirmation haptics throughout, calmer chapter controls, language aware series shelves, and widgets that keep cover art in true color on tinted Home Screens.

Spine now on Apple Watch - Control playback right from your wrist. The new Now Playing screen shows your current book's cover, chapter, and progress, all tinted to match the cover art, with play/pause, skip, chapter jumps, and one-tap bookmarking. Swipe up for Continue Listening to pick up any in-progress book. Your phone stays the player, and everything's localized in German, Spanish, French, and Japanese. Group your library your way - A new Group by → Library option in the Sort menu splits your shelf into sections by where each book lives, with a section per library for servers that have more than one. Works in both grid and list view. Better self-hosted support - BookOrbit books now play, show chapters, and download reliably even on servers that report metadata in a leaner format. And book descriptions from both Grimmory and BookOrbit now show up properly on the detail page and stick around through library refreshes.

Your whole library now loads even on a bad connection. Opening Spine, or CarPlay, on spotty data could leave you looking at only your downloaded books until you pulled to refresh. Spine now tells the difference between an empty library and one it couldn't reach, keeps your shelf through a dropout, and retries on its own until everything's back.
