1. 2/5I Wish The Functionality was better

   This is just a sort of takeoff on Duolingo. A cheap version without all the bells and whistles and childishness of Duolingo. The problem is they don't repeat the words to you a lot of the time depending on the context and it's almost impossible to type for some reason it doesn't seem to pick up on the characters and I have dictation for a reason – extremely bad arthritis – and yet it will not allow you to dictate a response which would be very good for speaking Spanish because the Spanish keyboard that you would have to install to dictate won't write just anything you're gonna have to pronounce it right. So they give you no pronunciation practice whatsoever and because of the way it's programmed if you start answering the questions before they're done talking they stop talking. And they do not repeat the answer once you've entered it. It's very so so. Purchased the subscription but the ads will not go away no matter what I do. I'm probably gonna cancel before my trial is up because this is too much trouble and I don't like being forced to look at ads when I've paid my dues. Bad programming pretty much overall on everything. Get the free version and use it as a dictionary.

2. 5/5So much better than Duolingo! Best Spanish learning app!

   I have been using Duolingo for years now wish a few years of Spanish in school before that. I liked Duolingo. However it has a very specific style of teaching and if you don’t understand as much that way, not teaching grammar rules hardly, it can be difficult. Also, it gets a bit repetitive. I recently discovered this app. Omg! You need a different name. Having such a generic name makes it blend into the crowd. I downloaded it long ago thinking it was just a dictionary and never opened it. I have been paying $75/year for years to get literally far less than I am getting with the free version of this. There is such a variety of different lessons. I am newly invigorated to learn Spanish. I’m having a blast. My only complaint is I don’t like how the next lesson automatically starts after the last. I think it should go back to the main page and let you can choose what to do next. If I can’t hit cancel in time, it won’t even let me back out of the lesson. The “x” button doesn’t do it. Other than that, I really hope you guys blow up! You deserve it! The most underrated app on the market! I’m telling you, it’s the name! I would love to see what even more could be added with a larger budget. You guys are doing it right. I’m still just scratching the surface with this app. Can’t wait to discover more! Can’t recommend it more!

3. 5/5One of the best Spanish resources

   This is one of my favorite apps for practicing Spanish. It has so many different activities so you never get bored. One of the best things about this app is being able to look up a word and seeing examples of it being used and different Spanish words used in different regions. A few suggestions: during the lessons, sometimes it’s confusing when you are supposed to be addressing someone formally vs informally, or when you are addressing a group because there’s no indication but you have to use what it wants, it always just shows one random person, even if it wants me to talk about “you guys” or about “them”. It would be nice to show more context in the images or something to make it more clear. Another thing, in the vocab quizzes, it would be great to be able to filter by region and / or show the region of the word it’s asking for, because if it asks me for “car” there’s several words for car based on region but it’s only looking for one with no indication of which. I also want to make sure I use the appropriate vocab when I travel depending on where I go.

4. 5/5Best Resource for Learning Spanish

   I have subscribed to several programs over the years to learn Spanish. I now subscribe solely to Spanish Dictionary, and I feel that is all I need. I start the day with the crossword puzzle. I began by using the provided vocabulary lists, but now I have more than 20 lists that I have created of words I need. I recently found that I was missing words watching ballgames, so I found several user-created lists for the games I watch. I practice conjugating verbs in whatever tenses I wish in the customizable conjugation quizzes. There are lessons in grammar that I have used mostly in the past, but they are available for brush-up. Lastly, the writer tutor is amazing! I can write something in bad Spanish, and the application suggests what is wrong without giving me the answer. I learn more by these errors in my writing than by other methods. Of course, this application is phenomenal for translating text between Spanish and English, and also offers alternative translations if you want them. I use videos, podcasts, movies, news, and TV shows in Spanish listening, but the program that I consider essential is Spanish Dictionary. AND I believe it is the least expensive, comprehensive learning tool for Spanish available.

5. 5/5Lovin' it!

   The app itself is amazing to use, and just like other dictionaries, it gives you the pronunciation and various definitions. Unlike other dictionaries, though, it allows you to listen to the differences in English and Spanish (when the words are exactly the same, like karaoke) and gives you multiple ways to conjugate and use the word, especially if it is featured in a common phrase. What would make it better would be if, like the website of this app, it included a short video of a native Spanish speaker repeating it and using it in a sentence, and more slang from other countries. You could make the argument that since it's a dictionary, it should only use real words from different Latino countries, but it would also be useful to know what someone else said when they speak informally. Plus, it would be interesting to know! I've been trying to better my Spanish for some time, and this app is extremely useful to me whenever I tend to forget something, not know something, or confuse one thing for something else. Would recommend it for anyone who wants to have anything to do with Spanish! Also a tip for other users: if you don't find something on the app, chances are it's on their website.
