5/5Excellent
It has so many amazing verb forms, and customization to the location of Spanish (Latam General, Spain vosotros, or Chilean voseo). You can turn on as many or as few verbs, you can sort by yo/tu/usted/nosostros/ellos. You can turn on speech for answers, which is really nice because you say the answer and then it sounds exactly like what the voice says. Or it doesn’t because you forgot a vowel change in a verb form. The feedback is so immediate, and within just a few minutes, I was able to review 200 verb flashcards (making a lot of mistakes and also making a lot of wins of stuff I haven’t reviewed in years). The app keeps you in the sweet spot of there being a lot you get wrong, but you can turn off the parts that are too too challenging for the moment. Shrink the goal down into sizable bites, like 10 verbs at a time or 100 verbs at a time, or only certain verb forms you’re struggling with. The free version gives you access to present tense and past tense imperfect, which are the bulk of what’s used in Spanish and difficult. For that reason it feels like a real app worth playing still, not a freemium that’s unplayable. Perfect for all levels of Spanish learners! It was also cleaning up my pronunciation because there’s some past tense verbs I was getting correct, but not emphasizing the last syllable strong enough, the final letter in past tense 3rd singular, like entendió. So you will learn to pronounce Spanish better if you turn on the speech playback feature for the answers.

5/5Best
UPDATE: ConjuGato is adding updates that address all my suggestions, WOOHOO!! So far I’ve researched other apps and this is my favorite one. Other ones you have to write out but I am more interested in quickening my ability to speak. I have a good baseline for Spanish and vocabulary but the first thing I lose is verb conjugation when it’s been a while since I’ve spoken. For that reason I like that this app can refresh me when I need to. I also like that for $5, it unlocks pro, none of this subscription frustration. Some suggestions I would add that I would pay additional for are if they made it so you could rate how well you know each card so that the algorithm makes that card show up more frequently and ones you don’t know as well not show up. For example I don’t need to practice present conjugation except for irregular verbs but until I get the irregular verbs I have to practice all of them. That’s my 2 cents. Also this app has the most verbs of all the verb conjugation apps. Another suggestion I would also pay additional money for is instead of showing the card that asks for the preterite form of the word “acabar”, in context sentences would anchor more in actual language use. That said, this is my favorite app so far, thank you Conjugato for not just making a great app but also one with a cute app icon because details matter!

5/5I feel like I’m really learning
This app has been one of my most used foreign language apps to help me with my Spanish practice. I’m not sure if the developer has made apps for other languages, but even the free version has been very useful, so I’m glad I paid for the pro version to support this developer. I can see this kind of approach to conjugation being excellent for French, Italian, and Portuguese. A suggestion for a future idea may be to have a toggle for studying irregular verbs. When it’s selected, it has the irregular tenses from the top 100 verbs, so that way people may be able to study the most used irregular verbs, practicing the hardest verbs exclusively! Also, since I use it as a quick dictionary for verbs, could there be a toggle to have the search panel always visible in the verbs section? That’s a small change that maybe would just benefit me so I’m not too worried about it. For Spanish learners, this app feels like it’s genuinely helpful, unlike many apps that may teach words that aren’t even used every day. Having the top 100 most used verbs for free is really teaching people what they should learn first. So I very much recommend this app and hope there may be more apps from this developer for other Latin based languages!

5/5Outstanding! If you really want to learn to speak Spanish, download it today.
If you want to speak Spanish well, you have to be able to correctly - and quickly - conjugate verbs. This app genuinely has all of the features that you need to learn to do it: you can choose which verbs you want to practice (regular, irregular, common, infrequent, etc.), which tenses and pronouns to practice, and how they are presented. I’ve been using this app since I first started learning Spanish a couple years ago and it has been a huge help for me the whole time, both back when I had to learn tiene/tenga/tuvieron/etc and now when I’m long past that but continuing to expand my vocabulary. Personally, I use the built in speech recognition on my phone/laptop to enter the answers, which lets me practice saying them out loud. The app is an absolute bargain at the price; easily the biggest bang for the buck I have seen in terms of learning the language. Download and buy it today! You won’t regret it.

4/5Very good; wishing for a bit more
Easy to use and customize right from the start! Two things I’d like to see: first, I find it odd that reflexive verbs aren’t in the app. Some of the translations are inaccurate without being reflexive and I worry about drilling in bad habits I’ll need to unlearn. Second, I *really* wish that there was an option to conjugate from the English translation instead of/in addition to “infinite + [verb tense]”. While practicing verb drills I find it’s very easy to slip into autopilot mode, pattern-matching conjugations with the tense, without feeling like I’m truly internalizing the meaning of the conjugated verb. (As a B1 speaker this is the hump I’m trying to get over: I can conjugate correctly as a purely grammatical exercise, but esp. when listening I’m more or less only recognizing the infinitive root and guessing at the meaning from context). It would be way more valuable to prompt, say, “he would have eaten,” “we shall listen,” “I was talking,” &c. It would make this app indispensable! The developers have noted from other reviews that adding example sentences is an almost impossible undertaking—that I understand. But, integrating just the English verb table translations would make this app so much more powerful! Hope to see it in the future.
