1. 5/5A failure of cataclysmic proportions

   I used soundtrap as my main music program for a while, while I was in school. I loved using it, and it was my favorite music app of the options given to me. Fast forward a while, and it’s summer. My computer is currently disconnected until my new desk is set up, and my school computer has been confiscated by the school for summer repairs. I decide I’ll download the mobile app, hoping for an app as fun to use as the computer version. Instead, I’m met with paywalls, completely different UI, and I can’t even look p any tutorials because all of them are for the computer version. I try and fail constantly for 30 minutes straight, until I accept that this was a failure. Do not download this app, it’s is horrendous. I wish someone would just make an actually good mobile music composing app for once, instead of the single worst mobile port I have ever seen. Do not use this app.

2. 3/5This is NOT a review. This is a cry for help!

   I don’t know whatever update you guys did with the studio on the desktop version, but it is single-handedly destroying my progress of making mashups. First, The studio now requires me to import music files manually, something nobody should ever think of doing when casually creating content. Second, your so-called, “auto save” feature, takes forever to sync, and keeps me trapped in the studio. I shouldn’t be forced to stay in a studio of one of my mashups being held hostage by an “auto save” feature, that works less than the original save button that blessed the studio! Which reminds me about my final point. Even if I do hit save and leave, it won’t let me leave, unless I leave without saving. Now I thought that, since it’s already saved, it should be safe to leave without saving since that’s what I just did. But man, oh man, was I wrong. It doesn’t only save your progress, but CORRUPTS it after I come back in! As someone who’s been using this program, and has been a mashup maker for 2 years, I know that YOU should know better than to release an update, that causes more problems than it’s supposed to fix! Please, please, PLEASE! I’m begging you to fix this problem, please bring back the drag and drop feature, remove the auto save feature, and bring back the tried and true save button! Not just for me, but for the sake of others who are just as passionate as me about this situation, and can’t do anything about it. I hope you can help out and do something about this, and I’m also hoping that others who have this same problem read this as a sign to take action, because it surely can’t be only me having this problem. 3. 1/5Broken Audio and Terrible Performance on iOS!

   As one of my quarantine activities during the pandemic, my choir director and high school friends organized an alumni reunion for our acappella group using the Soundtrap software. After a confusing setup on PC, being able to listen to the tracks, and finally recording my vocals on my iPhone, I was stunned that I got an error message saying that my audio was “too high quality” and that other background apps needed to be closed so this would work off my iPhone. I’ve since heeded that advice and gotten a brand new iPhone 11, which of its 128GB I’m only using about 30GB. There shouldn’t be a single issue with recording and uploading this audio, and yet the SAME ISSUE prevails! When I playback the audio, it’s fine for about 20 seconds, then it breaks for no apparent reason, causing the audio to go out of sync. My PC has been in and out for repairs for the past month and a half, so I’m down to this brand new device that can’t even sufficiently do its job! I’ve tried combing the internet for a solution and nothing is clear, so all I have left to do now is leave a scathing review! It’s not a problem with the software, it works fine on PC, but whoever set it to iOS needs to fix it soon! UPDATE: It’s November, this app STILL won’t properly playback any of my tracks or upload audio recorded in-app, AND my review rating was somehow changed from 1 to 5 stars. This is truly disgraceful and unbelievable. Again, I love this platform, it works great on PC or Mac, but the iOS app is absolute GARBAGE and SoundTrap STILL REFUSES TO FIX IT!!!

4. 1/5This is no longer for the creatives

   I’ve been using Soundtrap for a while. Since about 2019. And I used to really enjoy the program, the interface was easy to understand and It had great loops and everything was free. However, I’ve had several issues with the platform within the last few months that have been beyond discouraging. First, back in April of this month, my entire account was deleted. Now perhaps this was user error, as the account had been linked to a school org. And My teacher deleted it. But my question is, why is that a feature at all? The account had already existed for 5 years prior to being linked to it. So why would it possibly be a feature to DELETE the entire account. Especially when the account existed long before it was linked to anything extra. I understand unlinking or some other way it could be removed from the organization…but deletion all together? Absurd. It was extremely discouraging considering I was working on an EP, and now the progress of a total of 6 years is gone. When I finally brought myself to make a new account after contacting support and being told there’s nothing to be done, I wanted to attempt to recreate some of the tracks from memory, only to find the samples I used had all been put behind a paywall. The entire reason I enjoyed the platform is the fact that it was accessible. And it is no longer that. I wouldn’t recommend considering all the items that made it great are now behind money. Extremely disappointing. Do not download. (Or purchase the features, i hear from friends who have similar negative experiences that the subscription is oddly difficult to cancel should you decide you no longer want it. That’s gotta be illegal in some way…)

5. 1/5THE WORST APP IVE EVER USED.

   This thing literally, is the epitome of horrible. Im running on an iPad Pro M2 from 2022, and when i first got in, there were strange white bars that hid some of the interface, probably due to the fact that my iPad’s display size is higher than it should be. But, when i just put one, single drum machine in, guess what? IT SAID “Overloaded, reducing sound quality…” YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! im running on a really powerful iPad, and you OVERLOAD?! i know i sound like a child, but when you wanna play around with some of the stuff that worked before it got bad (around 2017 to 2019 i believe), you can’t even freely make beats, due to the fact, even on the LOWEST quality setting, IT DOESN’T EVEN RENDER SOME OF MY PRESSES ON THE INSTRUMENTS! And that was literally just using one, single, instrument. With logic pro, it runs smoothly with no issues, even on the highest settings. Maybe they made it so bad that it can’t even function normally. It’s even worse than bandlab, and there is nothing that i’ve found more worse, than this app, right here. This one is off the books. If you guys wanna make something actually good, get Logic Pro for iPad, is a subscription, but muuuch better than this app. Please deviate from this app if you don’t want to have your entire musical ideas ruined.

   as a new creator, the app is great, but I think it was cursed because unlike other music streamers, even when I close the app the music still plays even when I make sure it's fully closed.
