1. 4/5Best way to make music easily, but needs something VERY important.

   So every like 6 months I like making albums and putting music on it. Each time my music gets better and better. Recently I made the BEST songs I’ve ever made and I’ve already been working on an album for 5 months. 20 songs and I was making even more. Sometimes, I just have a moment where I have NO idea what I’m doing. And I was so stupid that I deleted the album… the best album I had. I’ve been searching for ways to recover it or get it back, but no luck. I was very angry and sad because all of my stuff on it was gone. That’s why I feel like there should be a recently deleted tab. I know that it was my fault, but, they should have something where you can get your deleted things back! I saw the song recovery thing but it never worked for an album. So please, can the people at Medly Pretty Please make a recently deleted tab? Even if it can’t recover my album, it is still something good to add in case it happens again. Something to add, there should be accounts and profiles where you can access songs on any device! And if you already made music without an account, it should transfer it to your signed in one. But this is just something I think should at least be brought up.

2. 4/5Very easy to use

   So of course I tried this app after discovering that song composed by a fifth grader (it literally doesn’t have a name) and thought I’d try it out for myself. What I found was that even for a complete novice like me, this app is super easy to pick up and learn. It’s very intuitive as well. However, my biggest issue comes with the fact that additional instruments must be purchased. This wouldn’t be nearly as big of an issue if the instruments weren’t locked behind a subscription service specifically. Granted, 5$ a month isn’t terrible, but the subscription nature feels rather scummy since you can forget to cancel it and it keeps taking your money. I don’t claim to know anything about in app purchase economics, nor do I want to come off as bossy or know it all, but I do think I have a solution to this problem that would satisfy everyone. Since the instruments are already divided up into packs, why not charge a small one time fee to purchase each individual pack? That way there’s no constant threat of a runaway subscription, you still get your hard earned money, and customers can even customize their experience further by choosing the packs that are right for them?

   Hello! I’m a user coming up on three years of using the app on and off, with premium. I may have mentioned this in a prior review (they seem to get removed somehow) but my number one major ask that isn’t a type of instrument would be a friend system. The idea would be to have options to send or share your music with other users. Yes, you can already do that using the share features. But what I really would adore would be the ability for multiple users to collaborate on songs and albums. My friend group uses the app and I would love to be able to work on music with the group; being a mobile app, it’s way too difficult to try this on one phone between many people. As for music requests, I think everyone wants more electric guitar options; they really see extended use in many genres, games, and media. Guitars for reference would look to me like “Abyss of Despair” by Atlus Sound Team. I would also like to hear more electronic options in general, Pharrell Williams-like. Get Lucky, Rock Star, Spaz, and Piece By Piece, for example. Thank you guys for all that you do and for taking the users’ thoughts into account!

4. 4/5Awesome Music App

   This game is absolutely amazing for making music. It’s really easy to use and has tons of instruments. But most of the bass instruments sound the same, and there aren’t enough real instruments. I think you could add an Instrumental pack, with accordion and oboe and harmonica and banjo and other instruments like that. I could really use them. I also think maybe membership price could be lowered a bit. For the membership users, the measure limit is 999. That’s not too important because not many people are going to be making 999-measure-long songs, but it’s a weird number. It should be either 1000 or 996. Also the instrument limit is… ahem… limiting. I often remake songs with lots of parts, and only being able to have 25 instruments is really annoying. And you only have access to ONE instrument pack without member, unless you’ve gotten it before, then you have two. That’s like 12 instruments you can use, or 20 or so, unless you pay $60 for the membership. And literally only like two of those instruments are actually real instruments and not some synth thing!! So basically, in summary, great for composing but limited with instruments, especially if you don’t have member.

5. 5/5Yes but the rating...

   I do really really really (yes, in Chinese old scholars say that important thing should be told three times) like Medly and already have composed songs even better than my old composition Raining Roof (the improved compositions are Rainy Day, Rendezvous, and Change respectively). However I’d like the price to no longer be free but Member no longer required. You can say the price - $5.99 and even more people just will get past the MONEY barrier and you get profits better than just...before now. Say, do you know my second dream in my mind? I’d like a free, open-source Notes app replacing Medly (and free - but, people do make instruments as a donation.) And I looked at other reviews saying that a gifted teenager could make Medly. Just stop there, you could trust me for new Medly stuff. (Personally, I’d replace the Starter electronic pack with a better Electron, with the Aura (now named Electron) being the lead.) But I’d do the ripping out since my actual status is close to yours, just three years behind. The Notes ... it looks like Apple .... but maybe I would lead in the E-field later on. Oh, and the musics are not just a rip-off of Gallop. Just to make this rating appear as the most relevant of all, so people can get in the Compositionist school. Yes, the Compositionist Axis Rebellion of Music (opponents: Medly, Auxy, MusiQuest). And there are so much parentheses.
