  1. 2/5Loss of Quality

Ever since the support was ended for the last app and this one was created, i’ve only noticed a drop in quality for this product. you can no longer see the Hz values of the audio equalizer, and you also can’t see any values the preset audio settings use. this obviously makes it tedious and near impossible to set up audio that you know for sure is a fit. with the previous app losing all support, it’s also impossible to go back and see your old EQ settings. i find myself constantly needing to change it after every single song i listen to. ——— in addition, only now has my right Grind Fuel earbud began to act up. i’m not entirely sure if this 100% has to do with the app, but now it more often than not has issues connecting, disconnecting, playing audio, and holding/ displaying accurate battery percentages. it seemingly drains slightly faster than my left earbud, and sometimes the displayed charge will quickly fluctuate between numbers as high and low as 80% to 30%. ——— most insulting of all, the of the new features are seemingly completely irrelevant to non-voice using listeners, so i feel as if this interruption and loss in quality was for nothing. i’d imagine most people don’t use voice controls, especially in public settings. ——— all in all, i could see this app-shakeup as a forgettable small bump in the road for most people if the aforementioned EQ regression and other bugs are fixed. ——— i greatly apologize to all Skullcandy teams involved for my review being rude. these earbuds have easily been my favorite for years which is most appreciated, however i would like these complaints to be noted for our comfort and enjoyment.

  2. 4/5Works fine could use some things

I have had this app and the skull candy crusher anc 2 for a while now and my experience with them has been great. The app could be a little more responsive and quicker between interactions but I understand that this is a different kind of issue and may not be possible. One major thing the app needs is widget options and some Lock Screen icons for apple users. For example being able to se what my Crusher level is at or even my ANC intensity, and being able to tap it and instantly open the app to change it quicker. The last thing that I think others including myself would enjoy with the app would be speaker integrations, like with the skullcandy barrel or stomp. I would like to be able to see the exact battery level or be able to turn on the bass boost on the barrel from the app. So far my experience has been delightful but these small details make the greatest impact. I know that this probably won’t be read by anyone but I just want to say that the entire skullcandy lineup of speakers and headphones has been amazing to use on my day to day commute. I would like to include my customer service has been phenomenal. When I had problems with my crusher evo’s I sent them back with the warranty and they weren’t able to replace them but instead they made it up to me by giving me more than what I paid for and I was extremely pleased and amazed with the service I received and how fast and professional the dealt with this. Thank you

  3. 2/5Worked until it didn’t.

Long story short the app seems easy to use fun to mess around with and everything was fine. I worked up my preferred sound base etc. not issues at all. One day when connecting my headphone per usual I was prompted to allow the app to sync with the headphones to allow the assistant features and to access the app and for some reason the headphones no longer connect. I am able to still listen to music and control the sound with the buttons on the headphones but can no longer access the app as it lets me know the headphones are in range and can connect. When I go to press connect it just loads for a fee and an error comes up letting me know to try again and to make sure the headphones are in range? I have deleted the app recent the headphones disconnected the blue tooth all the things you can think of to reset this thing but just won’t connect. I noticed another review with the same issue from November as well. And I’ve only used these headphones about a dozen times not sure what it could be and if it’s an app issue seems to still not be fixed.

  4. 1/5Needs more attention

The EQ settings should be more detailed like the TOZO app. Having an interactive platform where users can create and interact with each other should be a no-brainer with the latest Bluetooth earbuds and headphones . Users should be able to try each others settings out, and see what they like with a broader range in the EQ (not the small dials, more detail. TOZO offers these superior features in their app, and their earbuds show more dynamic capabilities because of it and their products are significantly cheaper. Skullcandy is close with the method earbuds, but this app need a complete overhaul. The AI is Al’s useless still, I was expecting some more improvements by now for the $150 price tag, but it is so pointless still and not to mention it is not hard to add an active translation option for the newest products as well. This app should be getting updates every other week this early in its development. It still feels like a beta experiment, not the one thing that I cannot stand about the earbuds. Get more creative and take serious notes about all of the features in the TOZO app. Badly needs a complete overhaul update to compete, because right now it is definitely at the very bottom of the barrel when it comes to audio device apps.

  5. 3/5Decent app, lacks full customization…

I hope a person on the skull candy team finds this- I bought the Crushers ANC 2 not long ago, and this app is required to tweak things, I’ve set things up to my liking, but it feels like features are missing. For example the buttons make an obnoxious noise that I’m unable to turn off. and with the new scroll wheel thing, I absolutely hate that I’m unable to turn off or change the single press input. I can’t tell you how often I’ve gone to increase or decrease the bass just to accidentally press the button and change what I wanted. It’s annoying. I really hope someone on the scull candy team sees this, because I guarantee giving people full customization would be amazing. If you’re gonna market full customization, please give it.
