   I have used another travel app for years but have been feeling a bit constricted with its limited functionality. After some searching around I stumbled upon Skratch and I am SO glad I did!!! This app is beautiful and so easy to use. I love being able to tag cities and attractions and to organize my trips into a timeline. I also requested an add for some attractions and their team already got back to me and added!!!! The upgrade to premium was well worth it and I’m so delighted by this app! I’ve been recommending it to all my friends haha. In the future I would love a way to modify the “trips” timeline feature to add moves to the timeline- I would also love to be able to have a single trip feature multiple countries! Both of those are small things, and I just love this timeline feature and the memory add features and I essentially love it all!

   I have been using this app to motivate myself to branch out and see more cities etc when I have the chance. Being able to mark specific regions and cities is very useful, and when a city isn’t on the map the developers are quick to add it once it’s been requested. I have occasionally had an issue where the app will glitch and mark me as currently being in a country that I’m not in. Unsure if that’s an issue with the app or my phone’s GPS etc though. Also, there’s a bit of a visual issue on the “share” maps with places marked as disputed territories— they don’t show up and it makes it seem like you haven’t been there. It’s really noticeable when you’ve been to all the surrounding areas. I understand there might be some sensitive political issues, but perhaps a toggle for “show disputed territories” would be good?

3. 5/5Best travel tracking app

   I’m obsessed with Skratch. I specifically downloaded it because not only you can mark the countries you’ve been to (which is typically what these apps do), but you can check states, regions, and cities! All the specifics you could imagine. And as a frequent traveler and lover, this is something one appreciates because having visited France (when you only went to Paris) is not the same thing, hahaha :) PLUS, I couldn’t find two cities that I’ve been on the map, I wrote an email, and they added them! I love when apps are in continuous improvement, and they show it! Best customer service ever :) plus, Ryan wrote a nice email notifying me that they added these cities for me!!

   One of my favorite apps! Very useful as someone who is a serial globetrotter and I love how the premium features are a one-time cost and not another subscription like we’re so plagued by nowadays. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is mostly because I feel like the attractions feature is poorly implemented - for example, I’ve been to just the Beijing airport in China for a long layover before, which I could mark under attractions, which I could mark, but then it marks me as having visited China, even though just having a long layover doesn’t really count as a trip to the country itself. So, I just completely ignore the attractions feature and never mark anything for it. There are a few visual glitches here and there, too. Also, as someone who travels in small towns especially in Latin America a lot, some of the displayed city names for more off-the-beaten-path locations are too official and not exactly reflective of their actually used names in real life (like if the Chicago marker said “City of Chicago” instead of just “Chicago”), but neither of those are big deals. Overall, a wonderful app! I got it back in 2023 and immediately go in and update my map whenever I’ve spent some time in a new destination!

5. 4/5Smaller Countries and Social Aspect

   I’ve throughly enjoyed my use of the app so far however I believe there is some error with whether smaller countries are counted as countries or territories. When I share the link to my map, countries such as Vatican City, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao are marked as territories instead of countries. Additionally I think it would be neat if there was a way to follow other people and have collaborative travel “want” lists between two or more people. Maybe there could even be a way to make some pictures public for others to see as well. I love how you can share the links with other people and I think it would be even cooler to be able to follow and track other people’s travel adventures through the app. Overall, this app is one of the best I’ve seen so far and I look forward to using it more in the future! Thanks!

   What a uselessly designed app. Looks pretty, but makes no sense. Impossible to figure out how to create a map, which you'd think should take 5sec as it's the sole purpose of this app.
