  1. 4/5I wish basic features weren’t locked behind a paywall.

Love the app and how it improves the Bluesky experience and feels really good to navigate and use (reminds me of mastodon’s ice cubes which I find it’s best client app) with profile post notifications, an iPad app and so much more but I hate how basic core features on twitter or even the main bsky app that I don’t have to pay for there are locked behind a subscription service like the ability to see what’s happening in a notification besides “new follower”and such. (Heck even the main app says who followed me in its notifications). Other things like muting words, draft post and bookmarks are Locked behind skeets pro which I don’t like. I don’t mind having a subscription service here, I just wish core app features weren’t locked to it. (Like I don’t mind the save scroll position between app launches being paid bc it’s a new feature no other main client does that isn’t really needed for most people) I’d also like to see people’s and my own profile labels on their profiles and on timelines like the main client. (On iPad btw) I also wish I could drag things around to move their position in the side bar when I press the edit button as well as being able to move things around in the top bar and drag things from the side bar to top bar. I also wished the side bar always showed my feeds to switch to when I pulled it up. The fact it shows feeds in the edit menu but not here makes that decision confusing. There’s a lotta blank space that could fill and make more useful. Overall I wish there was an easy way to switch feeds on iPad like the iPhone version where I can just tap following on the top middle and get a list of my feeds to switch too. I hate swiping between them on the main Bluesky app. I haven’t used the app much so I might have more to add down the road.

  2. 5/5Impressed

I stumbled upon this app by accident. I downloaded it because of the meme name but honestly I’m really liking it. The app feels cleaner and smoother than the official version. Nothing seems to be missing and even more than that there’s even additional features. I’m going to be trying this app out more but I think it’s definitely great so far. Some things that I would like to see are the ability to change where the reskeet, like, quote skeet, bookmark, and more options buttons are under skeets. I would prefer if the reskeet was all the way to the right for my personal preference and being able to change it would be great. Being able to have a pinned feeds switcher at the bottom would be great too instead of reaching all the way to the top. The app is designed really well and intuitively. The colors are great and i feel this app gives a better experience for Bluesky compared to the official version for iOS. Thank you :3

  3. 2/5Waiting for improvements

There are some things I enjoy about the app, but it has a few glitches that make it inconvenient and not worth the effort of ignoring in order to continue using. I contacted the dev via Bluesky DM and let them know that I deleted the app and cancelled my subscription, after contacting them about the same issue a few months ago. Maybe I’ll try again after they work more bugs out. For those interested, two things that I did not care for were the way lists don’t appear as true feeds - they just spear as a literal list where you have to click on each member to see their posts, which defeats the purpose of lists! For some reason this only seems to happen on self-created lists. The other issues of the return key on the on-screen keyboard disappearing when replying (and sometimes when posting). Not sure what’s going on there, but I don’t want to type one long stream-of-consciousness post. I want the ability to create space, separate my text from a link, etc. there may be other works but these were the most annoying to me :o)

  4. 3/5Too Many Bugs Too Often: Update To My Original Review

The latest one I encounter most often is the message that the feed failed to load - “retry”. Retry often does not work. Most of the time now I just use my browser, Safari, to access Bluesky, it’s far more reliable. I keep Skeets to receive notifications, although I may just go to the Bluesky app itself and ditch Skeets. I’ve tried to be patient but the issues are mounting rather than declining. Past Reviews: The main issue at this time is the app does not open to the latest posts. I have to pull down the screen to get the feed to refresh. As I don’t have the official BlueSky app, I access the platform by Safari and that always loads with the latest posts but you can’t get notifications that way. Those come to me by the Skeets app. The app while appealing in appearance is still a work in progress with a ways to go.

  5. 4/5Great Alternative App With Huge Potential!

This is a great start to being an amazing app for Bluesky! I absolutely love the robust push notifs and bookmarks! Some things I’d like to see improved are: When I’m replying to someone, I don’t like that it doesn’t show their full message in the editor. Sometimes I want to comment about something they said towards the end of their post, and I can’t see it without trying to leave the draft editor. After posting a reply, I have to manually refresh the page to see it in the conversation. It would be nice if it would auto-refresh and show my post afterwards. When someone follows me, it would be nice if the notif says if they’re someone that’s following me back, or if it’s someone new that I’m not following yet (like the official app does). Lastly, the official app has an experimental feature to show replies in a threaded view (under Thread Preferences). Would love to see something similar here, but that’s just a stretch idea. Please keep up the great work!
