   I had an unforgettable day exploring Tokyo with Hana through Showaround, and I can’t recommend her enough! From the moment she picked me up at 9 am to the drop-off for my Shibuya skyline at 3 pm, Hana went above and beyond to ensure I had an amazing experience. We explored Asakusa, Ginza, and the Tsukiji Fish Market, even taking a memorable rickshaw ride along the way. Hana’s extensive knowledge of Tokyo’s culture and history added so much depth to each location. Her wonderful personality and warm demeanor made the tour feel like I was exploring with a friend. She was incredibly understanding and flexible, tailoring the tour to fit my interests and ensuring I was comfortable every step of the way. Hana also captured some beautiful photos, allowing me to keep these memories forever. I highly recommend Hana to anyone looking for a genuine and enriching tour of Tokyo—she truly made my day unforgettable! I hope that all the guides I meet are as amazing as Hana.

2. 1/5Not working the in box= useless app

   As I wrote before it has been an excellent app and I loved it, allowing the visitor to have the assistance of a local in almost every city. It was the best: you create a trip , and the locals offer their services charging an hourly rate. I used the app always as a visitor. I have always made the payments on time and I have got excellent reviews of the guides. Unfortunately , Showaround changed for the worse . The inbox is not working and you cannot receive offers from locals. Showaround pretends to charge the visitors $25 per month. This is US$300 per year, even if you only travel once or twice a year. The app still allows you to create a trip and notifies the locals. However, Showaround blocks the offers and messages that you may receive at your inbox from locals, so the visitor can no longer hire them, and they will no longer have the possibility of work. I insist that it would be more logical and fair to charge a commission per trip. And remember : afterwards you have to pay the local. In case of few annual trips, it is better to hire a professional guide. Showaround, unless it change its policy, is a useless app for the traveler. It's a pity!

   Каринка hosted a very rewarding tour of Kharkiv. She asks about my interests, anticipates the obstacles and prepares the reservation. Каринка applies her knowledge of Kharkiv to suit the tourist’s interests. A memorable experience involved the tour of the zoo in Kharkiv. We visited a variety of animal dens and watched their captivity. The interaction with the monkeys was cute and amusing. The mirror room served as a pleasant challenge. It was difficult to determine if an entry was real or a reflection! Каринка identified the exit of the mirror room! What a relief! Without her determination, I would have predicted an endless loop of false turns. Каринка saved the day! Another joyful experience involved an evening at Stargorod Restaurant. The customers can seize the opportunity to participate in karaoke. Каринка filmed my performance of singing, “I Just Called to Say I Love You.” It is one of my favorite songs. Каринка serves as an outstanding tourist guide and I encourage anyone to pursue her talents.

   The app operates great. I didn’t run into any issues, operationally. Unfortunately you aren’t going to get much out of the app. All these 5 star reviews are false, created by programmers, just like a lot of the “locals” available. Specifically the “free” or cheaper priced profiles. I’m traveling to a single area for an entire month, contacted 7+ profiles multiple times, and didn’t get a single response. I’m guessing the cheaper profiles are to get you to buy the app. I can’t confirm they are bots. Probably those who wanted to use the app, but are required to create a profile showing they are “show-a-rounders” in their are. Don’t get to excited. The idea for the app is great, runs well, but I’m traveling alone. My budget is tight and can’t afford $20 to even $60 an hour to be shown around! Purchasing the app is $18 I won’t get back. Unless you have some serious money to burn paying a local to show you around, just talk to your hotel front desk or Airbnb owners. It would just have been nice to at least get a response... 😕

5. 5/5Great App in Europe

   I have only used the app for one tour so far in Budapest Hungary with tour guide Agnes and it was amazing. I had some reservations about the idea of a local showing us around but it was truly a great experience. I’ll definitely have to use this service again. Sure beats the sterile hop/off busses or huge tour groups.
