5/5Better late then bad eyeliner
Amazing app love using it because I can use the app and a lot look up stuff on web browser also super easy to use makes it easier to find the free offers that go with your purchase. And shows me new things before they drop and come to the app 1st before going online gives me a chance to score new products before other people or know they are coming soon I love using the app. It’s so user friendly. Only complaint is when I want to look at Sephora on the web browser it redirects me to the app sometimes that fine but not when I already have something open I wish I could just use it when opening app but still 5 stars. I love that it suggest products I have viewed or hearted at the bottom so I don’t forget about them. It keeps me logged in so my items stay in my cart. If you don’t use the app you definitely should one of the things I love the most is if you are going down a list of products and click one when you go back it takes you to the spot you were in unlike the browns we where it sends you back to the top

2/5Early Access is genuinely a marketing scam made to create FOMO.
Ordinarily I would never ever feel the need to post my terrible experiences, but I think it’s so incredibly interesting how Sephora has exclusive 1-Day early access through their app for products but said products won’t even arrive in a reasonable amount of time. The point of early access is that people want it soon enough to use an indirect method of shopping. If you live in a city with multiple Sephora’s, you’re better off waiting for the actual release date and shopping either in store or using Same-Day Delivery. Instead if you order from Early Access, it’s essentially the same as ordering it on the website any other day. My order didn’t receive a singular update until the projected day of delivery and then it was delayed again. The conversion tactics used to promote the app are incredibly disingenuous. It’s fine for keeping track of your points and checking local store stock—but I genuinely don’t see why anyone would opt for Early Access unless something was releasing the week of Black Friday. Terrible experience, I’ll make sure to never repeat again and support the brands directly or shop in store. I couldn’t even get frustrated at customer service because it’s not their fault, but at the same time, whats the point? What’s the point of a conversion program that actually puts the customers who participate in the program at the bottom of the priority list?

2/5Nothing but problems with this app!!
First off let me start off by saying I absolutely love Sephora and it’s my favorite makeup store! The original app layout was easy to navigate and get the hang of it. I never had a single problem with it and I loved shopping with the app! Which is why after only a few months on the app I became a consecutive yearly rouge beauty insider. For those of you not familiar with their lingo a rouge beauty insider is when you spend at least $1,000 dollars within a year you get top offers, discounts and receive free shipping on all your orders. I also became heavily reliant on their try it on live feature to try on products. However the new updated layout of the app is confusing and pretty frustrating/difficult to navigate/get used to. It has been at least a year or 2 already since it’s been updated and I still cannot get used to it. The try it on live feature hasn’t worked in over a year already which is extremely frustrating and disappointing. When you’re scrolling through shopping clicking on one item which leads you to the next on the app once you click on your cart you completely lose your shopping/search progress. You can’t get back to it unless you remembered the name of the company/product of the item you were last viewing. Which is why this year I’ve only spent $273 dollars.

4/5Good app with some issues/suggestions
App wise, this app is very easy and pleasant to use. The navigation, appearance, and ease of ordering is great. I like the trial size samples. What I would really like to see is to be able to manually organize our Loves list and also add notes to each product. With all the samples I get at sephora, I save all the items I liked, but would like to add notes on what I liked about them. This is very important for me for skin care as I try different products and I favor some samples over others. Changing the order is something I would like to do so that I can put staple items at the bottom and new ones up top, or by category, etc. This would greatly improve the app because I use so many products from Sephora and want to keep my items organized. Costumer wise, I am a rouge member and I have 2500 points that I cannot redeem for $100 because the site/app makes it available for literally 1 second at 9:08am on Tuesday and Thursday and disappears because it’s sold out. I only get the $25 reward easily, but the points it costs is not worth it. I have refreshed the app a million times at 9:00am-9:30am and later to get the rouge reward, but it is sold out and I cannot add it to the cart. In 2018 I easily redeemed my $100 reward, with no planning for timing whatsoever. This year it makes it not even worth being a rouge. I know this is not just me because I have seen hundreds of comments on the Sephora forums talking about it, and there is no explanation as to why this is happening. I am hoping that this will change and go back to the way it was when it started last year, because that’s the main thing that makes it being rouge for me. Sephora made it like the rewards system has improved drastically this year but did not deliver.

1/5Seriously, No More iPad App?
My Sephora iPad app opened to a message that it was no longer supported so please download the “newest” version. “Great”, I thought, “they’ve finally launched an improved iPad app to replace the somewhat buggy old one.” I tapped the “download here” App Store link, and was slightly puzzled to see the “download from cloud” icon where “Get” would normally be. I tapped it anyway, thinking “Oh, ok, so they’ve beefed up the iPhone app into a comprehensive all-in-one solution”. It downloaded, I opened it, holding my iPad in landscape mode as usual, and was at first nonplussed when the splash screen refused to rotate. Then I noticed something I haven’t seen on my iPad in at least a couple of years - the 1x button in the lower corner, indicating a clunky old “iPhone only” app being stretched to fit the iPad’s screen. I thought I must’ve somehow downloaded the wrong app version, but a quick App Store search disproved that theory. I’m still having trouble processing this turn of events. Instead of fixing the admittedly imperfect iPad app or developing an updated app with true multi-device support this is the option Sephora chose? Trying to palm off the existing anemic iPhone app as a “new & improved” replacement? 😐 I don’t shop from my phone; I only use the unimpressive Sephora iPhone app to review what I’ve put in my wish list when shopping in store. While this certainly won’t stop me from shopping with Sephora, the reduced convenience of needing to do so through Safari will definitely impact the number of online purchases I make. I’m very disappointed.

policy change for PayPal, if you do a return it wont go back to your PayPal but rather now, it will be an in-store ONLY credit so youd only be able to use it in store. customer service gives no option to give you a sephora card that can be used at other locations and /or the website. limiting what you can purchase if your store sells out often of items or doesnt get stocked often.also cant redeem points for birthday gift anymore in app if you dont like any of the free birthday sets.
