  1. 5/5a great app

Scaniverse has received a variety of reviews. Many users appreciate its fast interactive scanning feature that processes results on - device without needing a network connection, and its intuitive operation along with multiple export options. Some even think it outperforms paid apps, offering high - quality scans and useful real - time feedback during scanning. However, it also has some drawbacks. Users are dissatisfied with the limited scan distance, the inability to upload and download raw data files among users, and the app's focus on social media - related functions at the expense of a more straightforward scanning mode. There are issues with viewing, such as not being able to set view - related parameters like the initial view and rotation limits. Also, the lack of backup options for raw scans and further processing flexibility after saving are problems. I hope that in the future, the app can support the Chinese language. This addition would make it more accessible to a broader Chinese - speaking user base, enhancing the overall user experience for those who are more comfortable with Chinese.

  2. 5/5Best App I could find

This is the best app I have found, purchased before it was free and would purchase again if it wasn’t free. I have 2 challenges that I have tried different techniques with only small improvements but I still have a challenge getting a good scan and I hope you can give me a couple pointers. Btw, I am a senior software developer so feel free to be complex, I can handle it. I have a iPhone 12 Pro Max. Issue #1: If I pass over an area that I previously scanned then a lot of times but not every time, the alignment is off enough to call it a failed scan. I had one success scanning logs on the ground despite going back over areas and in that case I walk towards and away, my intent was to begin a new angle by getting the entire objects in view first. I did this thinking I was helping the app align itself. This method is not possible inside a room though because I scan an outer circle. Maybe that’s it, maybe it works best scanning inner rather than outer? Issue #2: Usually chunks of a scan are missing. This happens more if I render at high detail and if I increase the render to room instead of detail then I get much less missed chunks. Is this from a lack of point data and I just need to go slower? * Side note, I would like to scan to fusion 360. Also if I scan a car on the incline of my driveway then there is no option to level out the car, it seems there is only one angle adjustment. Thank you for an awesome product, I love it. Ps I have an idea. Imagine if you layed a ruler or 2 of them on the ground, then the software having known the exact measurement of the ruler could then calculate better.

  3. 5/5Blown away. Better than the paid apps.

First off I’ve tried a lot of photogrammetry and Gaussian splatter apps. Most of them are limited in functionality are require subscriptions. Also results are mixed. When I saw this app was free I didn’t not expect this level of quality and options. Truely blown away. No taking hundreds of photos, with this you just scan/move in real time (even without a lidar). The feedback you get while scanning is so helpful for seeing where more detail is needed. Multiple processing options for photogrammetry and additional training enhancement time for splats make this the most user friendly and high quality app I’ve found so far. I don’t understand why other apps are so unintuitive, clunky and limited. Add to that it does all of its training/processing locally on your own device so internet connection is not needed. 👏 finally someone made a truely great scanning app for enthusiasts instead of just trying to milk the AppStore for microtransactions. 10/10 Update: scans in VR are truly next level. Yes some of the resolution limitations are obvious but really blown away how fast it is to essentially make hologram of a place to look at later

  4. 5/5The Future / Updated

Update; the pushing to post to meta and connect your account and to post online front and center takes away from the app.. It would be nice if there was just a focused mode to quickly scan and view your scans like there was 6 months ago. // A Phenomenal company giving powerful tools to the people for free. This company puts human exploration and advancement above market profits, caring more about giving tools to future generations. Bravo !! Update: Still phenomenal, splats are so so so crazy good! I can’t wait until you can rotate, AR view, and export a splat scan just like a mesh scan; keep up the important work!

  5. 4/5Great for scanning, poor for viewing

For scanning - Exactly the app I wanted - fast interactive scanning with results processed on-device. No network connection required. A must-have app! I’d pay for this For viewing and sharing - not being able to set where the initial view, the orbit origin, the rotation limits, etc. is frustrating. I have 360 scans where the app limits my view angle. I have large scene scans where the initial view is dozens of meters from something reasonable. If I could set the view start position, orbit point, and rotation limits manually, this would be an easy 5 stars. Also, processing UX. Why can’t I refine scans further after saving it if I save scan data? Why can’t it also save depth, camera poses, etc. so I can continue training later?
