  1. 5/5Giving me a voice after being without one for so long

As a person with a speech disability this app has been a game changer for me. Having calls be automatically captioned AND able to be responded to via text in real time has literally upped my quality of life and ability to function independently by so much. Not only is the captioning the most accurate I have found ANYWHERE else, but there’s customization surrounding the voice that speaks back to the other caller as well—they can have a high or low voice, have certain phrases pre-set for when introducing yourself on a phone call, etc. My voicemail greeting (which I can type up and have automatically read and recorded by the app) specifically states that I am unlikely to be able to respond quickly via phone call if someone is leaving me a message, and asks that if they need a prompt response to leave an email address or text number that I can interact with from an accessible method. The number of angry messages I have gotten from people thinking I am ignoring them when I have been unable to contact them by phone went from being at least twice a week to NONE since using this app. I have stopped missing doctor’s appointments, calls from friends, and calls from my bank because I can actually interact with them as they call, regardless of my verbal abilities. The UI is intuitive, syncs easily and consistently with my regular phone service (T-Mobile), and is the number one app I use every day. Could not recommend this app more, to be honest. If you’re on the fence about whether or not the setup time would be worth it or if it will be difficult to work with, I would give it a chance. It might change your life.

  2. 4/5Lifesaver(please add mac)

I’m late deafened(when I was 26yo). I for 15 years also couldn’t speak. So text relay apps was only way I could make phone calls but they so slow. Nagish text relay using AI didn’t really work well for me when I tried it. People would hang up before I could type my reply and there wasn’t an operator to explain at the beginning of the call. I’ve been working on relearning to speak and just past couple months have fluent understandable speech now. So I can speak while using nagish as a caption phone call. That has worked great so far. Sometimes it messes up words and I have to ask them to repeat it but mostly it’s right. I use it on both iPhone and iPad. Btw love that you guys got landscape view on the iPad app. I really wish you’d make a nagish app for the mac tho. Rn I have to have iPad or phone on a mount next to screen and keep glancing back and forth between screen and device. 🙏🙏It’d be nice if it could be on mac so I could just arrange window right next to the one I’m using and more easily read what the captions say. Rn my only option on mac is to make a normal voice call and use the dumb mac live captions which are not great.

  3. 5/5Best Support Ever!

I just had the best experience with Nagish support, I simply had to tell you about it. As most of you know, getting support for anything nowadays is frustrating and definitely not easy to say the least. Good technical support and talking with a person instead of a bot is very hard to come by, too. Not so with Nagish! It was wonderful from start to finish and over a holiday weekend to boot. To explain. I sent in a question re: the call forwarding feature in the Nagish app on Aug 31 at about 11 PM. It did not seem to work as expected. Early and throughout the next day, I received several emails asking for clarification and/or more info, with the last one asking for an ok to conduct test calls to ensure all was ok. Both incoming and outgoing calls (a total of 4) were tested this morning on Labor Day. There was a minor problem with the 1st incoming call. It was something that I considered a “no biggie”. But Laura T, the Nagish rep that I was working with, said “nope… we want to take care of that, too.” Sure enough, they did just that! Problem solved. In addition, Laura then sent me links to 2 articles to instruct me how to do other things that I came up during our calls that morning. Talk about going above and beyond. Laura and the Nagish engineers exceeded my expectations and I am sooo very grateful. I highly recommend the Nagish app to get captions on both incoming and outgoing calls without having callers use 2 separate numbers to reach me. Nagish takes you thru step by step so setup is easy, too. You won’t be disappointed. Kudos to Nagish and its staff! High fives to all!

  4. 5/5Carolyn B

Omg!!!!! this app has changed my entire way of talking on the phone. I would say 100 times what? Repeat that? Can’t understand what you’re saying. Now since I’ve gotten this app best thing I’ve ever had. I haven’t said what did you say or anything like it since I got it !What I don’t hear, I can read now I have to say it’s the best thing I’ve ever had!!!! I even commented to a friend yesterday that I was with in a car, and I said to her as she was talking to me G I wish you came with closed captioning and she just giggled. She was like yeah I know that’s my only wish now is that people came with closed captioning!Thank you thank you Nagish for making this app available but even more making it no cost because I don’t think I would’ve been able to get it if I had to pay for it! You guys are the absolute Best!!!!!!

  5. 5/5Add-on feature

It would be great to integrate microphone with noise canceling focus on voice support on websites to order or connect hearing aid receivers directly to Nagish. This could enable automatic closed captioning or transcription. Closed captioning (CC) is a major challenge, especially when trying to use personal AR or VR glasses at the movie theater. It’s important that CC includes all background sounds and ambient audio—everything that contributes to a full experience. Reception quality also needs to be strong to clearly capture both words and sounds for an inclusive experience. One issue I’ve run into: when I switch away from the app and return, the reception sometimes fails to pick up the sound again. I usually have to shut down and relaunch the app for it to work properly.

Meet Rylo. We've been building communication tools for the Deaf and hard of hearing communities since 2021. Today, we're introducing a new name, a new look, and the most significant update we've ever shipped. The app you've relied on is still here. It's just grown into something bigger. What's new New name. New look. Same mission. Nagish is now Rylo. Everything you loved about the app is still here, but with improved app performance. We've rebuilt the experience around the same commitment: every word, every call, every conversation. We know changing the name and look of an app you depend on is a big deal. We didn't do it lightly and we're glad you're here for it.

Your saved transcripts now have a private backup option. Back them up to your personal cloud and easily restore them if you ever need to set up the app again. We added Picture-in-Picture captions to help you keep the conversation in view while you multitask. We also gave the app a solid tune-up, with smoother onboarding, steadier captions while typing, better contacts and recents browsing, and more reliable calls, notifications, forwarding, voicemail transcription, and sign-in. Less fuss. More conversation. Nice.
