  1. 1/5Shell of an app

Everything is empty but the link to the payment portal through Bilt’s system. That seems to function fine, but it’s just a front for aggressive marketing of their products and services. I am only there to pay rent, so someone let Bilt know to tone it down a little. As for Greystar, no property contacts, no response to community messages, no events, no amenities updated anywhere in the app. Everything is a blank page. Lights aren’t even on, and nobody’s home. We need a way to cancel pending work orders, too. Since I put them in and wait two weeks for things to be fixed, I’d love a way to cancel the work order, because I have to fix things myself. I’d love to let the maintenance guy know he can skip me so he can focus on the next. Worthless app for a worthless property management.

  2. 1/5absolute garbage

this app is just a shell for the Bilt app, both of which are absolute garbage. first off you have to make an account for this app, then go into Bilt and make another account there. the Bilt app itself is some kind of weird front to push a bunch of marketing and useless products and rewards onto you when all i’m trying to do is PAY MY RENT. speaking of which, paying rent itself is an absolute pain. since Bilt is actually a garbage app within this garbage app, when you try to link your bank info with Plaid it tells you to close the window when you’re done, so you do and it closes the entire Bilt window and you’re back to the rent portal app. what a joke. finally Bilt gives you the option to pay a percent of rent in autopay, but in reality it has no way to split rent payments and will tell you there’s been an error ON rent day, so if you have a roommate(s) good luck. it’s like they rolled out half of the feature to split rent but only the half that makes you think it works. for a website that puts so much time into pushing martha stewart branded products onto you maybe they could have spent some time on the actual RENT PAYING part of the platform. i have previously paid my rent through horrible looking websites that just get the job done, and they have ALL allowed me to split my rent. oh also, when i first logged in Bilt somehow knew all my credit card information and pushed me to link them with their rewards, which is really concerning and seems like a serious breach of my privacy. ridiculous

  3. 1/5Trash

Really unhappy with our apartment management shifting to Greystar and now forcing us to use this app. The user interface just to pay rent is pretty horrible, it’s a minefield of predatory advertisements by Bilt—the “pay rent” section is such a small fraction of the service, all the rest is just marketing. Finally linked my bank information, successfully paid the first month manually, turned on autopay with the same information, and it failed the first eligible month. Had to relink my account and manually pay again, and I now have no trust in autopayments going through. There is also no display of itemized charges through Grestar or Bilt. That, of course, is an entirely different service. It is astounding to me that anybody working in property management thinks this process works. It is broken and may be the final straw to persuade us to move out. We will selectively avoid all properties managed by Greystar from now on.

  4. 1/5Sick of this

As with many others, I am absolutely over Greystar. They were obnoxious enough continually changing the application and having us download different versions and making additional logins, but now forcing us to link to a third party application to pay rent? Absolutely ridiculous. I’m grateful my lease is up in a few months so I only have to deal with this for a short period. I will never lease with Greystar again. I don’t care about the supposed benefits, as I’m fully aware they’re only there to attempt to disguise the third party app’s predatory credit card and privacy issues. There should be a way to opt out that doesn’t involve a fee or having to jump through hoops. Also, what’s the use when I am unable to see my past payment information?! I want to know how my utilities and other fees change over time. This app has no ability to show this. Forcing their renters to move to this is the stupidest move Greystar could have ever made, considering how unhappy all their residents are already. Idiots.

  5. 1/5No in-app functions let alone functional. Not renewing lease due to this app.

Greystar is probably patting themselves on the back for creating this “app” (which it isn’t), but let’s be real here lol. This is not an actual app with in-app functions since you get re-directed to an external page 9 out of 10 times. I wouldn’t be complaining if the external pages you get redirected to are helpful or work, but here I am because those pages don’t work. As others have mentioned, there’s no way to access itemized costs let alone previous payment history. This obfuscation raises questions of whether Greystar has actual intentions of conducting business in good faith. Whereas the previous management platform provided these itemized costs and payment history that are clearly missing from Greystar’s own app. This is my first and hopefully last app review I ever make because I could never be bothered enough before, but here I am lol because that’s just how infuriating this app is and I won’t be renewing my lease as a result. This app and Greystar’s management direction truly feels like a middle finger to all their tenants, so message received and can’t wait to live in a non-Greystar property.
