1. 5/5I could not have asked for a more perfect app for medical school!

   I am currently a second year medical student and have been using Remnote for over a year for my note consolidation and flash cards. As some one who benefits from organizing my own class notes with additional pictures and info from outside resources, I would not have time to do that and be able to make flash cards. This app does almost absolutely everything I want it to do, allowing me to organize and write my own notes while making flash cards at the same time like Notion and Anki rolled into one convenient package. And if if they don’t have a feature now, chances are they are already working on it. I use the app seamlessly between my iPad, MacBook and desktop with no problem or waiting for it to sync. The shortcuts make formatting quick and easy and while they did take some time to learn, there are typically multiple ways to carry out one command so you can learn the shortcuts along the way. The development team behind this has really taken Remnote to the next level over the past year and I am so grateful to have an app that was exactly what I was looking for. If if could give it more stars I would!

2. 5/5Essential as a Biomedical student... but mobile app needs a dire improvement.

   EDIT: Swipe to indent on the mobile app has been fixed! I have been using RemNote for 3 years, throughout my high school and college career. I intend to keep using this amazing note-taking program into graduate school. I have even begun using RemNote to organize my non-school related thoughts and notes because the nested, tree-style structure documents that RemNote allows you to create are just so effective at organizing ideas. However, at the time of this review, to me RemNote is only properly usable as a desktop app. Whenever you scroll down or up on RemNote in the mobile app, whether it be you skimming over your notes or quickly trying to find a specific topic, a Rem almost ALWAYS gets accidentally indented or outdented, often ruining entire tree structures that were meticulously written. This is so incredibly frustrating and happens so commonly in the app that it often has me wondering if the RemNote developer team has even tried to use the iOS app in any capacity. I often find myself not using RemNote in certain cases, simply because I would rather have certain information to be also easily accessible on my phone, and not just my desktop. An easy fix to this would be to include some sort of toggle in the settings that would disable this feature, something like “Disable swipe to indent” in the app. I am BEGGING the developers to add something like this into the app so that I can begin to enjoy this wonderful program on my phone.

3. 3/5The app feels overloaded and flimsy

   Im coming back to RemNote after a long break from using it (I used to be an avid user around 3 years ago). I keep encountering issues in usability. Here are just a few: (1) When editing a flashcard, I may leaving the app to reference other content, then when returning to the app, I suddenly have been exited from the edit wizard, and can no longer find that card. (2) There’s also no way to disable the swipe feature for flash cards (e.g., I may accidentally swipe). Also, if a user is already required to tap in order to reveal the answer before being able to swipe, swiping actually doesn’t provide any convenience if you think about it. Requiring two different motions is a throw off. I don’t like the feeling my finger can accidentally slip and incorrectly rate a flash card (3) searching for a rem doesn’t bring you to a rem. It brings you to the parent rem, and then you may have to scroll thru a hundred different children rems to find the one you’re looking for. (4) I wish the “read only” decision for a document is saved for that document (so that it’s still read only when returning), or that it’s more accessible (i.e., doesn’t require 2 clicks to trigger it). I feel like there’s a hundred things that can accidentally go wrong while simply navigating the page. Like if I fat finger a button, suddenly my document is going to implode or the formatting is going to screw up (I am just overwhelmed by the number of new features). The UI just feels way too crowded and there are too many features accessible at once (too much information, interface is not clean). (5) for some reason I cant select the first word after the arrow by double tapping on it; the selection glitches out due to the arrow (;;) maybe? I am on iOS 18.6.1 on iPhone 16 pro.

4. 5/5I am so grateful!

   I am currently a nursing student with a hectic schedule and I cannot tell you enough how Remnote is key to my studies. The fact that you can take super-personalized notes as you’re making flashcards is an absolutely GENIUS concept, especially when you’re often short on time and still need to remember tons of information. It’s time-saving and extremely effective. The design is also pleasing and easy to learn. Thank you for creating something so amazing. I can only ask that this app will remain free and accessible to struggling students like me; and if ever a subscription should be required in the future, please make the price as affordable as you can. Thank you Team Remnote! 💕

5. 4/5Remnotes

   So I’m currently using RemNotes as it seems to be better than Obsidian for the purpose I need it for. Remnotes allows me to so far add notes and folders in a tree format and most importantly allows me to order/organize these notes and folders how i want. I can move folders under notes, notes over folder, folders of notes to other folders, etc. That is exactly what i need for stuff I’m doing. That said, only reason its not 5 stars atm, is it has been having some crashing issues. For some reason it will need to restart mid use or stop working as I’m typing. I only have documents and folders in my remnotes and a few notes have 3-4 images in them max. It really should bot be crashing, at least not as badly as it has been. Not even close. It seems to have just given me an update (only after checking the app in my app store library) so i am hoping that this fixes it. It would be nice if Remnotes would be a bit more specific about what bug and such are being fixed.
