"body": "Upon comparing the direction shown in your app to accurate Qibla directions based on the Earth’s spherical geometry, I noticed a significant discrepancy. It seems the app calculates the Qibla direction using a straight, two-dimensional line on a flat map rather than accounting for the Earth’s round shape. This results in an inaccurate direction for the Qibla, as the shortest path between two points on a sphere is a curved line (the great circle route). Thank you for your response. I understand that compass sensors can be influenced by magnetic fields, which is why you rely on the map and line method for determining the Qibla. However, my concern is about the underlying calculation of the Qibla direction in your app. It appears that the app uses a straight line on a flat, two-dimensional map to show the Qibla direction. This approach doesn’t account for the Earth’s spherical shape. On a sphere, the shortest and most accurate route between two points is along a great circle, not a straight line on a flat map. For example: •A person in North America, using a flat map, might assume the Qibla is southeast because of the straight-line projection. However, the great circle route points more northeast when considering the Earth’s curvature. To improve accuracy: 1.Implement Great Circle Calculations: Use spherical trigonometry or geodesic algorithms (like the Haversine formula or Vincenty’s formula) to calculate the Qibla direction. This ensures the Qibla is determined along the Earth’s curvature. 2.Visualize the Curve: If possible, visually depict the curved line (great circle) on the map to help users understand the Qibla direction better. This adjustment would provide more precise Qibla directions and align with how traditional spherical geometry determines it. Let me know if you’d like further clarification or examples.",
