  1. 4/5Great Mobile App for the Gym

Once you learn how to navigate, this app is solid. My main issues with the app. 1. The menu in the upper left is not easy to use. It can be hard on some phones to click on the menu bars. Had to help another member and neither one of us could click on the menu bars without getting frustrated. You get used to it, and I can see why it is so small once you get to the next screens. 2. With so much real estate on the Home Screen it seems like you could more easily direct members to the place they need to go using larger buttons. Or at least have some information available on the front screen. Maybe have a gym announcement of the day on that Home Screen? That would be helpful. 3. If you want to track your progress, you need to purchase a different app and you would have to use the same app as the gym to do this easily. Btwb, SugarWOD, or Kilomodo.

  2. 2/5Calendar Accuarcy

The class calendar shows a list of people who are in the class and will show you if you are in the class, but if you click on reserved and look at the people who are in the class it doesn’t match and can show empty spots even though the class is full. Also when you click on a day it more often than not pulls up a class registration for a different day. The loading speed also needs to be improved. I have tried to register for a class and been stuck on a loading screen for a few minutes, but someone opened up the app and told me I was in the class. I closed the app and reopened it but I didn’t see I was registered. My app did not register that I was in the class till the next day. Overall it mostly works but could use some big improvements to make a better user experience.

  3. 1/5Worst I’ve Been Forced to Use 😣

I am not sure how this app has such good reviews - I constantly have issues with it and have used so many other platforms that are far more functional and superior. I can almost never find my lifting history without substantial digging, and isn’t that the primary point? Besides that it is a chore to even update my profile image as it automatically zooms in on certain images and there is no way for me to make adjustments to where it’s zooming. The image I am trying to update it to currently keep zooming in on the sunglasses hanging off the collar of my shirt. I’ve tried cropping, framing, adjusting the image otherwise, to no avail! This has been the case every time I attempt to update my profile image, and today - the repeated frustration is what finally led me to this review 😖.

  4. 3/5Every time an annoyance is fixed, another arises

This app has been solid all around but, as it improves, I’ve noticed a pattern: every time an annoyance is fixed, another comes up. It’s like whack-a-mole. Recently they fixed the unintuitive navigation but, here are my current annoyances: 1) the app needs full permissions to add reservations to my calendar. There IS an Add Events Only calendar permission (which I have enabled), but the app is still not able to add to my calendar. This used to work previously. 2) the workout tab always defaults to the last day you looked at it. If you are someone who looks at the app everyday, it gets pretty tiresome – especially when you have to move in between weeks (as only one is displayed at a time). Ideally, this should default to “today” (like it used to), or at least have this as a preference setting. 3) logging results requires you to memorize the rep scheme and percentages/weights. The text boxes for reps should auto-populate and the input boxes for weight should have placeholders with the percentages (or even, ideally, auto-populate with weight according to the percentages from the max you put into the workout calculator). The three above are the most disruptive, but here are other smaller ones: 4) the calculator built into the workout screen crashes frequently — it will not display and a translucent overlay overtakes the screen without letting you exit or scroll, you HAVE to close the app. 5) the app refreshes every time you switch apps — not just when you close the app or when you lock your screen. If you switch apps, even for a second, it will fully reload the screen you’re at and place you at the top. Imho, content should only reload if you pull down on the screen, switch tabs in the app, or close the app. I understand some of this is nitpicking, but encountering these everyday becomes frustrating. I hope this is constructive and can lead to a better overall app. Thanks!

  5. 3/5Current version working poorly re: benchmarks and calculator

The app works fine for class sign up and seeing the work out but logging results is much more frustrating than it used to be. A few examples: (1) there is a great calculator feature you can look at during a workout that takes your 1 rep max and gives you various % effort wts - doesn’t work at all anymore. (2) weird random numbers get picked up and added to benchmarks, ie had a work out with no deadlifts and at the end recorded 3 sets and 460 reps - and benchmarking said I did 3 x 460 lb deadlift. Please, please fix this!!
