4/5Killing me with the auto push to today’s date.
This app is almost perfect. But what’s killing me is that the app forces to auto populate to todays date. If I’m working a day behind, the app will push me to today. I don’t want to move yesterdays workout to today because things will get too jumbeled. I already have two RXs for the day and adding a third is too much to scroll through. When I’m resting I’m usually surfing the web. Then I’ll come back and the app will push me to todays workout. Even if I’m not doing it. I’d love to turn off the auto push feature. Maybe to “last workout”. But I just did todays workout, when I told it I didn’t want to move it, and I needed to work yesterday workout😡 didn’t realize this until it pushed me out after surfing the web during my rest period and I came back and saw it was pushing me to todays date. Ughhh

4/5Postpartum Program
I recently completed the Do Fitness Postpartum Program. It was great! Dana demonstrates the movements in each video and educates you on how to breath through the exercise, which is very helpful! The app allows you keep track of your sets and allows you to add reps or weights to your exercise. You have the freedom to move an exercise to a particular day if you’re wanting to target upper body vs lower body that day. Some exercises seem like they would be easier to do in a gym setting, but you can easily figure out ways to do it at home. I do wish the postpartum program was a little more core focused, as that was my targeted area to improve on, but in reality I really did need to work on regaining strength throughout my whole body and this program did just that. It felt so good to move my body again after my pregnancy and prolonged recovery. I love the feeling of achy muscles, knowing you are strengthening yourself again, and also getting an increased energy level from exercising is so critical for your mental health! The exercises take less than 30 minutes to complete, so its easy to find time in your day to get it done, even with a needy newborn nearby. Worth noting - this app is designed for phone use, I had downloaded it on my iPad, and the format was off, I’d suggest using it on a phone.

3/5Focused on trainer acquisition rather than the users themselves.
Many reviews have pointed out the complete lack of basic integrations with other fitness tracking apps, such as Apple Health, Garmin, etc., or even simple hooks into calendar apps, which reinforces the focus on trainer acquisition over user delight. But that’s a strategy, get more trainers so they lock in users to the abysmal user experience. The UI is outdated and lacks any basic modern UX design standards, let alone functionality. The app itself is quite buggy. If I had a choice I’d take anything over TH, but as much as I push my trainer to find another platform they’re locked in. There’s a lot of potential for not only the app itself but for an ecosystem and platform for trainers to expand their audience. I get the sense that this app development and design is driven by people who are not technical or user focused. Note to the TH team, YOU ARE NOT THE USER. Spend time doing end user exploration and discovery, heed the reviews, and get someone who understands modern UX design and develop. I’m stuck, so whatever, I will continue to begrudgingly use TH, but given the chance I would gladly switch if some of the simple, low hanging fruit features are not addressed. As a PM that’s spent the past decade working in apps I find the experience cringe worthy.

5/5I should have never left
I love this program! I did it for a few months but stopped and thought I could just do my own programming. I ended up hating my own workouts and the time it took to plan. Also having to log all the data was time consuming which led to skipping weight training. So I decided to resign up with the app and to leave it up to the professionals (hi Alex!) to free up time and brain space all why getting gains. The app is very user friendly. You can substitute exercises if you need and often alternatives are provided. There is a home and gym option that you can go between easily. You can message Alex questions or videos and he provides timely responses. I love the little community he has built with his app.

4/5Great But Has Trouble Publishing
I love that this app asks you to rate how you’re feeling before every workout because I can see my ebbs and flows during my cycles. It has a huge data base of exercises and it’s easy to communicate with my coach through the app as well. However, the reason I’m giving it 4⭐️ is because it constantly has issues with publishing. My coach will publish workouts and they sometimes show up and sometimes don’t show up. I’ll receive a notification that my workouts were published but they won’t appear and my coach will have to go back and republish everything. It’s annoying for me as a client and I’m sure annoying for my coach who has several clients. Overall it’s a great app because it also gives you year end reviews and tells you how much you lifted during each workout.
