2/5Should be better; could be better
Functionally, the app is bad. Aesthetically and musically, fantastic. Read on for what I mean: Ok I listen to Poolsuite all the time. I love the vibes, whether at the gym, in my car, playing video games, we even play Poolsuite FM in our office as it keeps the spirits up and is very relaxing. My reason for 2 stars is because the app does not work well on a functional level. Firstly, it is not fully compatible with modern iPhones such as 15 Pro Max. It works, but the formatting needs a refresh due to the camera/notch island. Second, the app will randomly stop playing music, will play the same songs, and plays the same songs when opening the app. This is annoying. For example, I was just listening to the app at my office while writing this review instead of working and the music stopped playing. I don’t get it. The website does similar things so that kinda makes my plans to setup Poolsuite FM on a raspberry Pi DoA since it’s not a reliable way to listen. One thing about the website over the app is that the shuffling feature works a lot better and I don’t hear the same song within an hour as frequently. Really wish these critical issues would be resolved because I love the simplicity this app provides and the aesthetic. Considering it hasn’t been updated in a very long time, it is doubtful, however.

2/5New update is almost nonfunctional
I’ve been using the mobile app since 2022 and it’s always worked flawlessly, up until this update. I love the new changes to the UI - having mixtapes on mobile is great, and the theming feels way more fitting for mobile use. Everything is far more organized and charming than before. However, I’ve almost always run into playback issues. I’ve never gotten a mixtape to play even on a fast home internet connection, and the radio player will usually play one track before abruptly stopping. I love Poolsuite but the mobile app just doesn’t seem to function properly for me anymore, unsure whether it’s my device or just compatibility issues.

I was in the App Store just downloading random apps because I don’t have enough on my phone. I think I typed in retro radio player or something like that just to see what Apple had and this was the first one to pop up. I love it soooo much. The layout is EVERYTHING!! The playlists are amazing. I love music so much and this particular aesthetic does something to my nervous system idk how to explain it lol but it makes me feel so alive. I live in a small town in Mississippi and It’s my dream to go to Italy one day. I have a deep love for 70s/80s era and the theme gives all of that. I just love it so much it really fits into a nice, hot day at the beach surrounded by beautiful people and cold drinks ugh I just love it!! ✨✨✨✨

5/5Psychedelics? Who? I only know of Poolside FM!
I'm not lying when I say I've CRIED bc of beautifully designed this app is. It was made for people like me. Been recommending it to all my friends like crazy!! I've abandond most of my other music player apps too. This app is spectacular, heavenly made, and divine! At first, I downloaded it for the aesthetic and forgot about it for months, but when I stumbled upon it accidently while clearing up some apps on my Mac n actually tried it for the first time I fell in LOVE. i was SMITTEN. The whole easthetic in the app, website, soundclod, ig, and the MUSIC (oh the music) makes me feel like floating over the clouds. LOVE IT!! xo

Absolutely beautiful app with a look that completely fits the vibe of the music and appeals to my nostalgia for outdated technology (in look only) and old commercials and travelogues. Functionally it’s simple, but what it does, it does very well with only one minor bug I noticed (switching to another app and back can cause the playlist to revert back to the first song, so repeats are a bit too common). My only suggestion would be one additional station for “sunset” music that focuses on more pure vaporwave instrumentals. Hangover Club is great for that, but with all the great relaxing “martini under a palm tree on a sunny day at a classy private resort” tunes, I think it just needs the one more “red sun setting against a pink idealistic 1980’s sky at the end of the day” station. On the other hand, too many options could threaten the simple purity of what the app is going for as a piece of art aiming for a specific tone, and the devs have earned my trust to do what’s best. Amazing work and great musical taste.

No big update here, probably not even worth reading this. But alas, it appears you're still here, holding on with me to see what excitement's to come despite me trying so hard to deter you. You kept hearing the same songs. I kept hearing the same songs. If I keep hearing these songs, I'm going to jump in my 1994 Ferrari Testarossa and drive directly off the nearest pier. But I've only just arrived on the Dominican Republic and I don't actually know where the nearest pier is and my phone has no service for maps. I could drive it straight into the ocean but I'm not entirely convinced I'll make it through the sand on the beach. I could get a local SIM card with 4G but the thrill of being disconnected from my inbox when I step outside my apartment is making me feel ALIVE. I digress, I'm hoping I don't have to do this as this update should fix the issue but we'll see and I guess you'll hear about it if I do.

What would begin as a trademark infringement lawsuit would soon develop into a saga of contention, malfeasance, and deceit. Troubled Times For almost 4 years we have evaded the hard hand of the law through a multitude of high-stakes relocations throughout the Caribbean basin. Grasping dearly to the household name you all know and love. Out of desperation we made a questionable arrangement with the St Lucian Mafioso to protect us from the USPTO and various international rights holders. Inevitably, this only deepened our Mariana Trench of problems. Spending days in reckless speedboat chases and sleepless nights on uncharted islands, with nothing but cocktail napkins for blankets. It was only a few years ago that mounting a D-30 turbofan jet engine to a 1986 Wellcraft 38 Scarab KV would be a misuse of the company budget. But a few wrong moves with the Caribbean Cartel would prove this procedure to be an extortionate yet core component to our survival. Moving Forward We have gone to the ends of the earth – literally – to avoid drastic measures, with generous plea bargains put forth by our team of nautical attorneys. Okay I'll put my hands up; the app started breaking this week and it's *entirely* my fault. We knew essential updates were required at the mojito-cooled ServerSuite in Miami. Lewis, Nick & Ryan worked diligently and produced me a stack of 8 floppy discs inside a gold Rimowa Attaché briefcase, which I placed carefully in the velour-lined trunk of our poolwater teal 1987 Lotus Esprit Turbo. But here's the thing. As I'm driving down Ocean Drive, I see the Poolsuite corporate jet flying overhead; a promotional banner flying behind – those damn Vacation boys took the jet again! Do they know how much that thing costs to fly an hour? Do they know they can hire a regular banner plane for $500?! Lach's flying the thing and hasn't renewed his licence in 12 years! On second thought; I'm pretty sure he only had a powerboat license! I'm FLABBERGASTED. I lose concentration, the Lotus veers of the road, flips 7 times through the air and somehow lands in the Versace mansion pool. I climb out of the car, walk calmly out of the pool and order a Peach Bellini at the nearest table. Everyone cheers. I'm fine; the floppy disks are not. Whilst that briefcase shuts tight it was no match for the powerful chlorine of that pool. So that's why we couldn't make the updates in time, and that's why tracks weren't playing properly. I'm truly sorry for interrupting your leisure time, and hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me this time.
