5/5Clutch for passing the exam
I don’t think I’ve ever left a review for an app, but this one deserves one. Out of all the materials out there to help with studying for the CASP+, this is the resource that I used the most. I like how you can set your exam date and keep track of how much you’re studying on a given day. Completing the daily question got me into the app on a daily basis, and then I stuck around to do some of the quizzes. It does a great job of showing you which areas you may need to focus on more, as well as tells you where in the official books to brush up on topics. I completed the entire base of questions and then went back through tue questions I missed. I like that you can also flag questions and return to view explanations of the correct answers. The UI is very well designed and user friendly. Great job Pocket Prep team and thank you!

5/5Feature-Rich Study App!
I tried many CompTIA study apps and the Pocket Prep offered many elements that others do not. This app offers you stats of your progress and knowledge, matching it with the community, and lets you know your study streak. It lets you know your weaknesses in particular subjects and lets you focus on those often-missed questions. You have options of time quizzes, weakness quizzes, quick pop quizzes, etc. It even has a count-down to test day in case you have that plan, which is a great motivator. I really like their Question of the Day and you can personalize your reminders/times. Most importantly, they are very thorough in their explanation of the correct answer so you know thoroughly why you got it wrong and how to research it further. Finally, they have amazing customer service and contacted me back very quickly. I feel confident I will pass with this app!

3/5Ok app but the questions are ambiguous
This was a really good app but in their latest update the questions for the CISM exam have become extremely ambiguous and confusing. I’ve been doing IT and information security for nearly 25 years and some of their answers to the questions they ask are wrong or there are two likely answers but with the ambiguity in their question you can’t tell which is the best answer. On top of that they refer to the CISM manual (which I have) and their reference is usually to the wrong page. It used to be a good app and very helpful in preparing for the CISM but its current set of questions have been very confusing. For example, they ask a question about the purpose of two firewalls connected to the same DMZ. They give 4 possible answers including load balancing, defense against Denial of Service (which would be considered a form of load balancing), the situation of one firewall catching something that the other misses or one other option. The problem is that they don’t tell you if the firewalls are the same or different (most firewalls these days come with a built in IDS/IPS which could impact the answer). Furthermore, they don’t tell you if the firewalls are connected to the same service provider or two different service providers. Without that additional knowledge you are expected to assume that the two firewalls are identical and connected to the same service provider which would make the answer obvious. But having come from organizations where the architecture is more complex and I deal with multiple service connections the answer is not easy. And this is just one example. They need to clean up and provider clear questions without ambiguity in order for this to be truly helpful in preparing for the CISM exam.

5/55 exams passed so far!
I usually fall asleep watching videos and reading the text is boring. Jumping in feet first with tests from this app works best for me because it challenges me. I love the community average stats for each question. This app is a life saver. Tip- Set up your tests using 100 questions and never before seen questions. Now just plow through until you complete that round of questions. Then do another 100. Repeat this process until you have done all unseen questions. This ensures you go through each question once. Then do the missed questions quiz. Then review the questions as you please. I really like the ability to chose upon which categories to be quizzed. This feature allows me to work on my weakest area. The app can be customized by test size, new vs. seen questions, missed questions, timed, and weakest subject. The app saves my progress and current test if I force quit the application. Each question also provides detailed additional information with references when answered if you wish to review it. I love being able to study with my puppy in my lap, outside, or in line at the store. I’ve passed 5 exams now! I will be getting several more qualifications which is why I think this is a great value. If you want quality, you have to pay for it. I’ve been using this app for almost a year now. A+ core 1; 2 weeks, A+ core 2; 2 weeks, Network+; 2 weeks, Security +; 1 Week, Project +; 1 Week. Passed all on first attempt. I also use videos and take notes from text books for each exam. CySA+ is what I am studying now. I test soon!

1/5Question Dump- Unhelpful for Exam
Here is a direct reply from their staff: "Pocket Prep questions are designed to prepare you for the correct material, but we don't aim for the questions to be the same or necessarily similar. The main goal is to focus on the content and knowledge areas which will come up on the exam so that you are well versed on the subject and not just on specific style/set of questions"- Alex from Pocket Prep A specific style/set of questions is what prepping is. When you prep for a camping trip, you being all the neccesary gear right? This app is like a Dollar General REI, has a lot of stuff, but nothing helps you accomplish to goal, certification. Pocket preps questions, minus maybe 2 of the 300 did not exist in any form on the A+ exam. This is a question dump app and will not help you with the exam. It may enhance your understanding of some topics, but anyone in IT knows there are always questions and answers needed for them. This app is called "Pocket Prep", and prepared me for nothing but frustration after I paid for "premium" access after two months. Save your money and use something else. And yes, you are a braindump. Save your money and avoid this application!
